Shang bows graciously. "Thank you, you have been most generous with your information." He then turns around to address his companions, looking slightly uncertain of the situation. "So, do we retire and reconvene tomorrow night at the docks? Or do we have other leads to investigate before our rendevous with Mahjub?"
Hearing conversations within that don't sound hostile, Shang makes his way back around to the front door and enters with his allies. He nods politely at Mahdi but doesn't interupt the conversation. As he listens, Shang's eyes wander the interior of the room, looking for anything that seems odd or suspicious.
As the group approaches the building, Shang leans in to his companions and quietly says, "I will sneak around the back and look for a back door, to watch for anything suspicious activity. Once I hear anything suspicious, I will join you. If anyone else wishes to join me, feel free, though I prefer to be as quiet as possible. I don't trust this neighborhood..."
Just to give a heads up, I will likely be unable to post at all tomorrow through Sunday. My last day at my present job is tomorrow, so I will likely be busy finishing up work-related stuff, and then I'm out of town at a convention until Sunday night. Feel free to NPC me over the weekend as needed, GM.
Shang ponders Milana's words and tries to recall anything he may know about Lady Silviana or the majordomo. Surely he must have read or heard stories somewhere in his studies...
The tian man stands quietly while listening to the lovely Pethwen and Princess Shazzara speak. They are eloquent with their words, and Shang knows his talents lies more with his books, scrolls and blade. Still, he nods and listens intently to support them.
The Tian man nodded and listened as the other Pathfinders asked questions, and then stands to leave with the group. Without looking at the questioner, Shang responds, "No no, we must find this servant that was carrying a scrying focus before we see Lady Darchana. Should we hit the streets, perhaps in the Coins, and see if we can discover any information on our lead?" After responding, Shang looks over quizzically at the lumbering oread as they depart from the Venture-Captain's quarters. He has heard of elemental-touched creatures before, but never had seen any in the flesh, or stone as it may be. "Sad, which region of the world are you from? I'd be very interested to hear where you hailed from. You see, I'm a bit of a scholar in the fields of the arcane and the extraplanar and I'd love to learn more about you. Granted, there is anything interesting to learn about you, after all."
Shang Li is a short, lean man sporting a darker than usual complexion for someone from Tian descent. His long, black hair is kept neatly in a tight ponytail and his tattots are only barely visible under his rough, thorny leather armor. Shang carries a long katana on his belt hilt, the sheath bearing resemblance to the katanas wielded by noble samurais from far-off Tian Xia. However, his current outfit is more familiar to one that lives on the river over a knight. Upon arriving in the Venture-Captain's office, Shang smiles and nods to all present before quickly seating himself in the corner of the room without a word spoken. As he sits, he reaches into his satchel, fumbling with numerous scrolls and parchments before finally retrieving one, poring over it while waiting for the meeting to officially begin.
The Scrying sub school grants early access into EK by granting a 3rd level SA. Thanks! I like the idea of a pirate/ninja hybrid by going Swashbuckler w/ a katana. If people are gonna argue which is better, why not just combine the two? :) The katana will continue to do slashing damage, it just changes the weapon type to meet the swashbuckler's requirements. But the damage type stays the same. I'm going pure EK from this point.
Good question! He's my Eyes of the Ten/Shadow Lodge/GM credit baby that I only recently formed. The concept seemed goofy enough to want to try it. I love duelist types, and all the Eldritch Knights I've always seen are strength-focused. I thought a finesse EK could be fun, and the Swashbuckler seemed like a natural fit that allowed to expand beyond just a rapier. |
