![]() Fearghus:
Well, the reason Anna is listed instead of you is her background would have placed in an area that is more friendly to the druids. Kael'rathen's elves would get along well with the Druids of the Iron Pines since their aims would be similar, protect the sanctity of the forest, etc. Fearghus grew up near the Iron Pines, but he would not have known about the true nature of the druids, or even that they were druids because of the fear. I also want to say that you did a nice job playing that bit out. The other thing is I am assuming that you headed south and trained in Sal Kavun. If that is the case then most of the priests and other people you would have ran into would probably dismiss the rumors and tales as nothing more than the delusions of the northern peasantry. Basically what's happening right now is a very big leap of faith for these two and it is going to have major implications down the road. >:) Shalyna closes the window and shutters. A sad look clouds her face and her voice is low when she begins to speak. "The two of us have been friends for as long as we can remember. We don't know how we wound up orphaned in the woods, but I guess the Starsong was lookin' over us, because it was one o' the druids that found us an' not a goblin or worse. It was a group o' about a dozen druids that raised us and taught us the ways o' the wood. Then, they-- they--" Tears gleam in her eyes and her voice breaks as she tries to get the words out. Ka'eln, the hawk gives a little squawk nuzzles the girl's cheek. ![]()
![]() The sound of someone yawning and the thumping of bare feet on wood announces another person's arrival. Anyone who turns sees it's Sahlyna. they also see her go from half-asleep to wide awake in half a second as she realizes that most of the people from the day before are awake and she's still in her night gown. Her feet hammer out a retreat as she rushes back up the stairs. ![]()
![]() The serving girl is pretty quickly overwhelmed by all the newcomers. She disappears into the kitchen a second time and returns with a bowl of steaming stew for Fearghus. Behind her is another young serving girl. She goes behind the bar and helps the large barkeep keep up with the orders for drinks. After she sets the bowl on the table in front of Fearghus, she asks, {b]"Is there anythin' I can get fer ye two?"[/b] ![]()
![]() Shalyna nods as Valyana speaks, she waits for Shael to answer before continuing. "If Talus hadn't given us a place to stay we'd be either dead, or not far from it. The people here fear the druids. They blame them --blame us-- for blighted crops, illnesses, even the bandit and goblin raids." She sighs and props her head up on the table with both arms. "We just wanna help, but if we try, we're as good as dead. Sometimes I ha--" She's cut off as the door bursts open. ![]()

Shalyna gives Lucky a reassuring smile, and a little laugh. "She's better behaved than that. If yer looking for the 'master trainer' ye'll be wantin' Val." ![]()

The girl disappears into the kitchen and comes carrying a steaming bowl of stew and passes the bar to grab a tankard of beer and talk to the barkeep about a bath. The smells of venison and rich hearty vegetables entices you as barmaid sets the bowl before you. The beer though, doesn't seem to be nearly as appetizing. "Lemme know if ye be needin' anything." 1 sp for the stew and 3 cp for the beer. |
