My favorite version of the Paladin class takes variant rules from PHB2 and The Complete Champion.

My Paladin sacrificed his unuseful (in most cases) mount for a charging smite ability, increasing his smite damage and bonus to attack on a charge. Also sacrificed his spells for additional feats similar to a fighter's bonus feats every 4 levels. That and I've gone into the Gray Guard PrC which adds some nifty Paladin abilities that are similar, but different enough to add variety.

Goblins could be a pretty cool playable race.

Hey there,

You might want to take a closer look at domains and arcane schools in the magic chapter. As for extra healing that does not burn up spells, be sure to check out the rules for turning undead.

Sorry if I missed something, I gave a very quick read of the PDF. I'll go back and check out the magic chapter again.

Also have you considered feats that would allow Fighters and other martial classes to better control the battle field? Like say a feat that doesn't allow others to make 5ft. steps from squares they threaten? Similar to the Knight's class feature from PHB2. That or gaining an AoO when someone does move out of a square the PC threatens.

I think you guys have done a great job of buffing up the fighter, but most martial classes lack the ability to control their opponents movements and protect lesser armored party members.

As much as I thought WotC was out of their mind for declaring that Wizards would be able to have at will spells after I played a 4E demo I found that it was really useful to have 1 spell that they could use over and over. I know that Reserve Feats cover most of this, but it would be nice at early levels to allow Wizards 1 first level spell that they could use again and again to continue longer through out the day. It wouldn't be anything major, but would improve a bit as the caster leveled and at later levels would most likely get replaced by a Reserve Feat that had a stronger effect. I was thinking about something like one of the Lesser Orb spells.

Also a non-divine healing ability like the Second Wind ability introduced in Star Wars Saga Edition would be a nice way to ease the burden of healing classes. Maybe something like 1/day+1 per 5 levels. I know that 4E is also using this as well, but they've got it at 1/encounter which seems a bit much to me if you're keeping cleric spell casting.

Other than that this looks great. I had started to get pretty excited about 4E's launch, but I must admit Paizo makes the best adventures I've seen in the 12 years I've been playing D&D. If the Pathfinder RPG is what you're going with for future Pathfinder adventures that will definitely factor in to my decisions on what I use in the future.

Right now our group is planning on using all of our current modules 3.5/3.0 and unused adventure paths before considering converting to 4th ed. This will probably take us a considerable amount of time as we move through games slowly, but buy modules as they come out.

If Paizo were to put out more 3.5 content after the release of 4th we would definitely pick it up. If you were to create a 3.75 system I know for a fact that I would pick it up because you guys put out a quality product.

Paizo will always be involved in our games!
