Liberty's Edge

This past Monday, my intrepid group of players and I just completed the Anniversary Edition of the Rise of the Runelords. Our campaign spanned over two years with a sizable break for around 9 months. It marks the first AP I've run to completion, as well as the first AP that each member of the group has completed as players!
I have to say that this AP was outstanding - the printed materials, combined with the feedback and resources on the messageboards, made it a joy to run. I cannot state enough how helpful YEARS of conversation, discussion, and maps/products was - it certainly led to a highly memorable game experience.
Now we just have to decide what to run next!

I was curious to see if anything came out of this. I spend my weekends in Providence and was hoping there would be more PFS events going on. Currently I am in VA and there seems to be a lot more interest in the game down here. I'll be back in Providence in about a month and I was hoping to get a feel for my options for PFS when I get back.

I haven't pinned down a good location or day for weekend games, but shoot me a message Skoa and let's throw some ideas around!

Hello all - Sorry for the lapse in communication - work typically has me away from electronic communication for a month or so over the summer.
I've been running biweeky games in Lincoln, RI at Die Hard Games on Thursday nights. We typically have a table or two each meeting, with another GM available periodically running as well. If any GMs in the area are intersted in getting more involved in organized play, please email or PM me so I can provide support - there is a player base that would love an additional person behind the screen for PFS.

If those are your criteria, I would have to recommend 3-17 Red Harvest and 4-08 The Cultist's Kiss.

+1 on The Cultist's Kiss - its probably one of my favorite PFS scenarios, and it fits the bill for what you've described. There are plenty of opportunities to delve into the story and motivations for the NPCs.

Note - it can very easily run on the long side, so if you're in a tight time slot, be sure to know when to encourage the party to move along. If you don't have a constraint, it can easily run for 5-6 hours.

Happy to be on the team!

Quest of Perfection pt 1 - One of the players at my table is an enchantment focused Wizard who has taken many social skills.
His name, of course, was Gary the Diplomancer.
Its a special moment when an entire table of people call out "Damn it, Gary!"

I also had the experience of this scenario running long - The open ended progression of events after the PCs reach town are fantastic, but they also allow for numerous distractions from the main scenario and can easily turn into hours of content (great for RP, but bad for staying on schedule if you're in a time slot).

Welcome to the Boston Lodge!
So, basic answers to your questions:
1) Watermarked PDFs of each sourcebook your PC uses (either on your device or a print out) are all you need to run your character at a Society event. I personally use a tablet as my 'game library'.
As for what is and is not PFS legal, there is the following repository:
http://paizo.com/pathfinderSociety/about/additionalResources
2) Depends on the GM. I really see no problem with having you run your character off a screen, but others may have a different opinion. Best practice would be to bring a paper copy just in case, and ask the GM who is running the game if they have a real preference.

3) Reading the guide is helpful, but provided your character is PFS legal, you'll learn the most from actually playing and asking questions. Super specific questions or advice are best vetted by the PFS forums, where you can find a lot of information and support. It may also be helpful to talk to the Boston Venture officers if you have more specific questions or need some help.

Ran this scenario on Sunday at the same venue, and did have a character death in the BBEG fight. I opted to allow the PC to pay for the Raise Dead, as the party had a cleric to remove the Create Spawn effect. I figured that as the "Next Moonrise" timer was dealt with, the party was able to comb the black market to find the casting services.
Thoughts?
