nods This is excellent to hear! It sounds like these are good folk worthy of my time and service. Thank you for your help to these quarters, I hope that we can serve them well and shape this area into something amazing. gets up and begins stowing his meager possessions

nods at the half orcs assessment You should make all attempts at restoring old ways that the locals find important, quests like this also will bolster the peoples hope and faith in you. Also this will make an excellent story in the end to repeat in the halls. A word of caution though, we should research the tribes first and find out what they believe so we can avoid treading on their belief and avoid any undo harm

Well slavery is a tricky issue, you must decide how your rule will be decided, as a failed attempt because of a lack of infrastructure and unrest. Your coffers emptied by paying for labor and dealing with insurrections from unsatisfied lords and barons and large houses that depend on them and force you to raise levies to fight... If you decide to enforce slavery you'll have a hard issue if that's the current rule, if you modify slavery laws however, that's harder to fight... and you can find the lives of your slaves better than a serf or bondsman in any other country!

Smiles in delight at the young lady I'm sure whatever the value of the work is when you finish it, I'll gladly pay it. Art has a rather frank value to some, and I more than others cherish it. When you are finish you'll have to send word to me and I will gladly come to pay you your dues! gives a stern look to the two in open disagreement Perhaps my young lords would like to discuss this when we aren't introduing o nothers time and generosity?

would you guys mind if I switched up the abjurer wizard and try out the new arcanist? It'd still be dispell focused, but it looks like it can do it more competently and elegantly than otherwise. Same personality, background etc though just the mechanics behind the wizard would be a bit different.

Darling he says to the sketcher what are you drawing? I have a few daughters, now grown and moved on with their husbands, and you remind me a little of my oldest... Would you mind indulging an old man and letting me glance at your book? he smiles warmly towards the youngest woman

oh, no I'm just looking to make a name for myself just like any young adventurer would... I'm actually here to find the new lords of the land so to speak... he pauses a moment after his slow speech, "greens" words sinking in he begins to laugh a little What good luck! I find one of the new lords already! he feebly rises and dusts himself a little I am Senex Senis, scribe, tutor, magister, and old as dirt. I've come to offer myself to the new rulers in exchange for my wealth of experience, I'm hoping to leave a legacy behind worth something more than a foot note in a text book he peers around a bit I however am no rube, perhaps this conversation is best when all the lords are present at the keep no? It makes things a bit more official and on the up and up... you can tell his words are without guile or judgement, but he is wise enough to realize you might not be exactly who you claim If you wouldn't mind helping an old man to the keep, I assure you the lords will all find my small demands worth their efforts and yours.
Thanks, I have always wanted an excuse to make an old wisened character and this was the perfect chance. (and lucky for me at higher levels there's always the age resistance spells =) Biggest thing was to provide alot to the group and act as the enabler, both with skills and spells. And on a flip side, can handle traps as well since I see the current probably is less likely to be able to do such things. (trapspringers gloves are high on priority for this guy) |
