“My name is Semaj. There really isn’t anything special about me. I grew up in the Lands of the Linnorm Kings; Kalsgard to be exact. My dad worked for a merchant group. Trading, some raiding, nothing special. He was Orc blooded as well. But, one summer he went out and didn’t come back. It happens, nothing to weep about. You could, but I choose not to. And so I was alone. But not for long, a strange looking man, Tian by the look of him.”

“His name was Master Bhao. He was a master of sword and arcane magic. He travelled about the region exploring, gathering tales, and what not. He was a member of the Pathfinder Society. I don’t know why he chose me to train. Maybe because I was big for my age, maybe he thought I looked bright of eye, or well spoken for my age. I don’t know, and I may never know. But that isn’t important. But what is important is that I was chosen.”

“I won’t bore you with the details. With Master Bhao I traveled all over the lands of the Inner Sea. Learning at his side, learning the language of the Tian people, of swordplay, and magic. I learned all these things, and how to be a Pathfinder. But for me it is not a calling, but a request. Before Master Bhao passed on to join his ancestors, he asked me to join the Pathfinder Society in his stead. And so I have come to Absalom, and I have joined the Lantern Lodge.”

“I doubt I will find true friends among those of the Lantern Lodge. Many of my fellows think too much of the Dragon Empire. They think themselves outcasts and what not. And we may be. This I do not know, for I have never been considered normal. But I do not care. I live a life where I earn my coin through my skill in the arts of sword and adventure. My only goal here in the society is to make Master Bhao proud, and avoid the politics of the Society. “
