Background:
Selreis was born in a proud family, in the city of [insert city here]. His father was an Elven Druid, who helped protect the nature in the urban setting. His mother was a Human Wizard, always bold and trying new things. Their personalities did seem conflicting, but they matched each other, and had Selreis.
For a time, Selreis lived a perfect life. He had a manor with vast libraries he'd spend time in, and to contrast there were beautiful gardens, where he learned the names of many animals and plants. He always was rather studious, but he appreciated the outdoors, and the pull and majesty of the natural world. His mother did try to rear him towards Wizardry, but he didn't quite get all the specific names and verses. He preferred more primal, raw magic. That was magic that better fitted the natural world. While he was studious, and enjoyed the pursuits of learning, he'd prefer finding his inner power to creating it from an external source. One day in the garden, he was reading a book on ancient runes. He uttered one out loud, and a flash of energy appeared.
His mother was delighted at the wizardry, if not slightly disconcerted by the archaic form. She tried once again to show him how to harness the magic, but once again Selreis failed. Selreis deduced, that his power was within, and he harnessed the runes from within himself, in the strong presence of nature. He repeated several experiments that seemed to confirm the hypothesis, and it became clear, he was a sorcerer. The rest of his childhood was testing out his powers. He still studied just as hard, if not harder than a wizard, but reaching out to the natural world and arcane lore, he saw the runes within himself.
He loved to craft jewelry, as they served as a canvas for his experimental magic. He felt the energy brimming through his blood, and could allow it to take form to make several wondrous items of creation. They were a manifestation of himself, so he studied more lore on the harnessing of power through objects.
He decided that in order to further fuel his research, he had to explore his own powers and develop them, requiring going out and exploring the world. Thus, he left his comfortable home for a journey. Returning when he had found true power...
Appearance and Personality:
Selreis is around the same height as the average man. He is quite hardy, as he obsessed with his health hoping to unlock more power. He has his father's quick reflexes and grace to pair that along. Always obsessed with his capabilities and studies, he tended towards the personality of a loner, and is socially lacking. While he didn't feel unwelcome due to his mixed heritage, he never really felt like he matched with others. He is quite curious, and intelligent. What he knows rivals that of Wizards and Druid alike, and he is always captivated by magic items. He has a habit to forget about others if something intrigues him, and his unique blood allows him to rest in merely 2 hours, so he is constantly working on something. He always helps others if it isn't a personal inconvenience, or if the alternative would make him look bad, he doesn't want to be disconcerting. He has a habit of flaunting his mental capacities, and while he tries to hide his disregard for those without it, it can come across as a bit pretentious. He is reserved, and always keeps to himself, unless approached, for he isn't courageous enough to reject others. He also can be blinded by what his pursuits, and can make irrational decisions.
