Appearance:
The Shoanti man has long reddish orange hair, pulled back into a tail. The color darkens as it gets longer, giving the tail a measure of black mixed in with the orange.

His eyes are an unusual yellow, combined with subtly pointed ears and a long nose that give him a vulpine appearance.

Shoanti tattoos cover his face and neck with images of animals and nature. A moon high on one cheeck and racing storm clouds on the other cheek are the most prominent. Whorls and vine patterns can be seen partially covered on his forearms and hands.

His expression is stern, like most Shoanti, but there is kindness and inquisitiveness in his eyes, which seem to glow with an inner light. He holds himself straight and gives off a sense of vitality and confidence.

Background:
Nothing is known of the details of Screaming Moon's birth. As the story is told, he was discovered by a group of youths of the Shriikirri-Quah clan who were camping and hunting in the forest. As they slept, a fox crept into camp, grabbed a blanket and darted off into the woods.

The sleeping youths quickly grabbed bows and gave chase through the moonlight. The fox led them for many minutes, always keeping just in sight, but dodging and swerving so they couldn't get a clear shot while somehow keeping the blanket from getting snagged.

Storm clouds swiftly rolled in, blocking the moon and the winds began to howl. Just as the youths were about to call off the chase, they stumbled into a small clearing. A hawk's scream, louder than could be believed, startled them and the winds suddenly died down. From all around the clearing hoots of owls called out and a break in the clouds let a beam of moonlight shine on the clearing, where the stolen blanket lay covering a Shoanti baby boy.

With the fox nowhere in sight, the children picked up the boy and called out for its parents, but a quick search turned up nothing. They headed back to their camp and then on to rejoin the clan, where they presented the boy to the shaman, a woman called Pines on Lake. Listening to their description, she declared the omens favorable and the child to be a blessing. Adopting him, Pines on Lake raised the boy as any other Shoanti, and began training him as her apprentice.

From the clan, he learned to ride and hunt. To fish and survive in the wild. From Pines on Lake, he learned herbs and healing, the art of tattoos, and the magic of nature.

When he became a teen, he earned his name and began travelling with trade caravans to gain experience of the world. Once, while visiting Rodric's Cove, he met an elven woman named Audrahni. Sensing some type of familiarity, he approached her. Through persistence, and over time, he became friends with the elf, making sure to stop and see her every time they arrived to trade.

Eventually, his training ended, and the time for him to take on more responsibilities within the clan. As is common among Shoanti, he first set out to explore some of the world on his own. His first stop is to return to Rodric's Cove to say farewell to Audrahni
