Session 2

Since we’d taken out enough of the gang’s support to be missed, we kept up momentum and kept after their leader. Some intel indicated he might be at room he kept, but it turned out he’d already met his end. Some queer fellow was still present with the body and lacked the sense to either run or answer our questions so the barbarian subdued him with a chair. There’s not even an attempt at leadership yet, but I’ll wait to see what happens when the disagreements start. The queer fellow eventually decided to tag along with us and we soon discovered someone else was in charge and continued on to the gang’s warehouse, already identified.

This time there was the spark of a plan, but it quickly fell apart and became a minor bloodbath. I’d taken a route up an adjacent building to a second floor entry with all but the Inn workers, who supposedly would create a diversion at the front, but someone got a little too eager and noisily dropped a trapped part of the second floor. We were quickly attacked by bolts from the windows and went at haste for whoever had spotted us. I took out the dwarf I thought was the leader, but it turned out I was wrong. I wouldn’t have guessed the nearly naked wench just sitting on the bed was the leader, but she unfortunately revealed herself instead of hightailing it.

Our newest member was put down (again) when gang members who must have been sleeping came out and caught him unawares. The Inn workers had meanwhile charged right in the front door and eventually hacked their way upstairs, with the barbarian fortunately taking the brunt of the b!~@&’s ire. Between a couple of us we ground her down enough before the barbarian passed out.

It appeared the gang was sitting on merchandise instead of coin, probably while they hadn’t paid yet, so we just had the client collect that and he soon paid our fee, in a much more convenient form. We’d managed to pick up some other odds and ends from the recently departed, and I came out with a nice armor upgrade (no holes or blood even) and crossbow package. We wound up with the deed on the warehouse area and someone with too much spare coin decided we should fix the place up and run fights from the adjacent building. He even has a contractor lined up to start work soon, but I don’t think he’s thought through needing to maintain a lower profile.
