This has come up with a GM in PFS who is saying you cannot. I think you can via how the rules are written.

What sort of names do Gargoyles have in Pathfinder? I'm playing a Strix who, flavorwise, is a Gargoyle.

I was curious about this as far as trying to make pawns for my own PCs?

I was told by another poster that Strix will be free to play soon/less rare since they are no longer on the boons purchasable page for PFS play? Is this true?

So when will this be available again?

Could this be done with the right combination of feats, spells, races, class features? Strixx with some "flavor" as long as its not mechanical is obvious but what else could be used within the limits of PFS?

I'm looking for anything I could use to bypass immunities to sneak attack damage that are allowed in PFS? So the powerful sneak feat is useless as it is a lvl 18 feat and PFS only goes to lvl 13 tops.

Or perhaps items, spells or otherwise that could at least make an enemy vulnerable to things like say slashing, piercing, or bludgeoning?

Is one better than the other in some way? What is the difference? I'm finding it would be useful to have class specific character sheets now with things like playing a rogue and needing to remember all the skill increases and skill feats they get.

I dunno if the archtype is worth it now since isn't it an action to mark prey? Any advice from Avenger rogue players?

Trying to play a ninja type in PFS who is somewhat of a spy/agent who can do more than just fight but unsure if I should go with the stats I have? 14 str, 14 dex, 14 con, 12 int, 12 wis, 12 cha. Are those too low until he gets to lvl 5 or should I switch some stats around? Every character I've played so far has been better at combat than skill checks and socializing.

This is for PFS first off. I was just curious what race and versatile heritage could work for a "Gargoyle"? Strixx and Oread seem the only option so far.

How does that work exactly?

I feel like Magus could be cool but it seems it kinda sucks in 2e? Thamaturge also sounds cool and useful and very flexible. I could see Champion as well but since there are no non good champions yet, I'd hold off on that class.

Any rules for this at all? I wanted to try a CN one whose a bit hedonistic.

Is this somehow possible?

I noticed some classes aren't in PC2, such as Gunslinger? Not sure what other classes were missing.

Will any retroactive changes be coming down the line with the rules for large PCs? Like would a Gnoll with Giant Gnoll ancestry actually be large now? What happens with a Large sized Barbarian PC who has the Giant Instinct? Are they now using a even bigger weapon than large? If not, wouldn't they actually have no penalties for using a large weapon since it is in fact, normal for them?

I have a idea for a Gnoll who looks more wolf like and the reason is his father was a Rougaru who met his mother while they were both hunting a werewolf who had caused a lot of deaths and trouble in the area. The DM is allowing it but I'm just curious if this is even possible. Maybe its normally not but perhaps fate/a god or whatever got involved.

Just curious cause I always thought they were pretty cool looking and liked that as a base concept. Minus the cobra emblem on them lol

How many do you get as a player per game?

Just curious how you submit questions to them?
Also I'd like Luis to give a opinion. Who is more powerful: Azlin Rex (D&D Ravenloft) OR Tar-Baphon?

Seems like it would, only problem is Rougaru is it's own race. They aren't a demihuman or whatever with shapeshifter tacked on?

Also, I feel like Gnoll gets way better stuff for a bestial/canine type character?

What class/feats would he possibly have? He seems like a mix of fighter and rogue somewhat? He started off a Samurai and then becomes more ninja like as the story progresses?

How does that work around here?

Just curious if that is more flavor text or written in stone. How quickly does it happen? Is there a book somewhere that details why and how it happens, like more fluff, less crunch?

Like say using a sword sword in two hands? I ask because the ninja-to is considered a short sword, yet its used with two hands. I guess its just for style points now?

Like if you're a rogue with a ninja concept and you'd like to use a katana. How would you do this? Fighter archtype? Are there feats or anything perhaps? Of if you wanted to know how to use a dueling sword, how do you do that? Just be from Aldori region?

How could this be done? I'm looking for classes, archtypes, if I would need to multiclass, feats, ext? Some had said arcane trickster, others have said rogue with monk archtype, some said laughing shadow magus, rogue with thamaturgist, but I'm looking for something as close to the 1E class as possible?

Any advice on how to do this? People say "wait for Tian Xia" but there's been no news on classes like Ninja or Samurai being in the book?

The way theme reads with the level 1 ability it seems if your class has that themes skill as a class skill then you get a further plus 1 to your themes stat AND a +1 to that skill?

So a Vesk Soldier Mercenary would get another +2 to str, starting at 14 str before they even put any points into it?

How would you stat them? In Pathfinder they apparently don't have a penalty to any abilities. They have +2 STR, +2 CON. Darkvision, +2 AC. They are only 6RP. Most races are 10 RP. They have NO skills they get bonuses to and they are Xenophobic and only start knowing their own racial language. Now for Starfinder I don't think that will do at all.

I'm thinking stats the same. 6HP. +2 to KAC instead of all AC? Or maybe just a +1 to ALL AC like the Vesk?
+2 to Intimidate and Perception sound like good skill bonuses.
Possibly a bite attack? 1d4+STR or something? With the same ability to specialize and do STR +1.5 at 3rd level.
And obviously need to be able to know more than just their own language.

But beyond the stats how do you think Gnolls might actually live in Starfinder? Not all Gnolls are evil but I think a good portion of them probably are and would work as raider/pirate types who not only rob your ship but also kill everyone on board and eat them too. That would be pretty horrific to face in Starfinder...the followers of Yeenoghu taking their hunger to the stars.

I take it Starfinder will have adventure paths? I loved the pathfinder ones. You know I could see skull and shackles maybe working in space with some adjustments. Space Pirates and all that.

Reminded me of the Muppet show segment with Pigs in Space. But with orcs instead. I'm thinking they would probably wreck the ship every adventure. :-p

Just curious to anyone whose beta/alpha played or heard anything.

I hope so. I just didn't like 5th ed at all. Didn't seem like enough options, I still don't really like Paladins of any alignment and it just doesnt feel like the D&D I liked. Pathfinder does and I hope Starfinder will be just as cool and allow us to also use it for other Sci-Fi games, such as Star Wars, since I didn't like Edge of the Empire.

Can you do Star Wars with Starfinder? Cause I feel the new Star Wars RPG is not very good.

So will there be tiefling, assimar and such or no? For that matter will there even be celestial beings like demons, angels, ect?

Are there any groups out there who are running jade regent or anything to do with the dragon empires?

I would like to try to find a DM or group who is interested in running/playing Jade regent or Jade Empire?

Is there anyone out there willing to run jade regent?

Does it? I thought I read somewhere you have a minimum of 1 so wouldn't a 2cd level ninja at least have 1 ki, even if they have a cha of 9 or lower?

So if you're upset with 5th ed, perhaps you're aiming your hate in the wrong direction? It's Hasbro who is ruining D&D and treating it like it needs a new edition every few years isnt it?

What are some decent names and last names for tieflings? I suppose the last name would really depend on the culture or other half of the Tiefling? Mine is half human and came from Cheliax originally. So what's a decent last name?

I'm not sure if I post here if I'm looking for a game vs recruiting for one? I'd like to play Skull and Shackles specifically but I think those games already started?

Are there any decent rules anywhere for Eberron with the Pathfinder system? Like beefing up or nerfing races or classes, how to handle their feats in Pathfinder? I'm surprised Keith Baker hasn't really done up anything for that.
