Female Human (Taldan) Bard 1/Swashbuckler 1

I added a few new elements on Veronica's Background, but mainly I added a "relevant characters" section with friends and rivals and their sordid details.

p.s. but the decision has been made before it .. well.. I'll keep the character anyway.

Female Human (Taldan) Bard 1/Swashbuckler 1

"And now the stew is only the second most disgusting thing about her..."

Veronica unsheathes her rapier again.

She struggle to look the part but the truth is she is still severely wounded from her confrontation before.
It doesn't matter... there are plenty of swords here all they need is a little bit of direction.
She hops on a chair pointing at the slug with dramatic flair.

"She feed you her disgusting creatures for dinner... Now feed her Steel in return!!!"

Female Human (Taldan) Bard 1/Swashbuckler 1

"oh I'll tell you what happened..." she points at Stella.
"The crazy lady just put one of these disgusting rats into the stew, which was probably made up of these in the first place..
And that doesn't even begin to explain what's behind the cuddly disposition they have around her..."

Female Human (Taldan) Bard 1/Swashbuckler 1

Veronica looks at Stella with contempt.

She then turns to the halfling and says

"About that cup of wine I ordered...
After a night like this I usually feel like having some wine, but I hate to think at what might pass for it in this place...
I think I'll pass"

"You aren't supposed to eat it!" shouts Norvallen back at the drow.

"If you ate anything from here that might be too late by now. They came from the pantry you know..." Says the actress with disgust while resheathing her blade.

She looks at her dress and hen look above her, no doubt pronouncing mentally a long sequence of swears.
"If instead of telling me to introduce myself to Lord Alystair they told me I was about to enter a nest of rabid mutant rodents I would have prepared accordingly. I assumed that before launching a mission to liberate the greenbelt one would think about clearing his own neighborhood..."

Female Human (Taldan) Bard 1/Swashbuckler 1

Veronica regains her senses, beaten and humiliated, but able to return to her feet.

<Focus veronica... you have a room full of pawns, use them...>
She mentally says to herself.

There was the girl who put her back to her feet.
Another man wandering around and healing people, and an Half-Orc who seemed to have made quick work of his opponents.
Veronica gathers her strength to jump over a table before her assailants could resume their attacks putting some distance between them.

Acrobatics + Derring-Do: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 121d6 ⇒ 4

She barely avoids another attack with her maneuver, rolls on the table and ends up on the other side of it where she lands between Atamar and Fennik
If the rats wanted to come to her they will have to go through the half-orc first.

"I'm afraid I brought the wrong dress for this ball.. could you lend me an hand with those two?"

She asks the half-Orc.
Hopefully, she will be able to obtain further medical assistance while the half-orc keeps those beasts busy.

Any chance someone would rescue Veronica out there?

Female Human (Taldan) Bard 1/Swashbuckler 1

Can I dice-shame the Dice generator?

Seriously...

BTW, you all have bardic performance for the first round (under the initiative of 8) and the second round up to the monster initiative where they tear down Veronica.

Female Human (Taldan) Bard 1/Swashbuckler 1

round 1

the first of the Eldrict things charges against Veronica he jumps at her baring his teeth.

charging bite: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 171d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

The ratlike creature bites into her leg.

The nobleman was right, she should have brought some more protection.

The second creature surrounds her and tries to do just the same

flanking bite: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 201d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

As yet another of those creatures manages to sink his teeth into her flesh the pain of her bodily wounds pales compared to those of her ego, she didn't came all the way here just to look like a pathetic amateur.

She cautiously takes a step away from the creatures (5foot step) and bares her sword.. the words of one of her plays comes into mind.

"Alas thou show thyself. Pray thy stars for victory, or pray for a quick demise.."

round 2
since I made a 5 foot step I assume they are no longer in flanking

The creatures attack the actress again, This time she brings her sword between the two.
Opportune Parry: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
bite: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12

The creature evades the blade but doesn't manage to reach Veronica.

His companion tries to do the same and again Veronica prepares his guard against the assault.

Opportune Parry: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
bite: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
bite damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

But she is ultimately overwhelmed by their relentless assault.
The rat bites her arm and makes her lose her grip on her sword. the shock and pain are too much for her and she faints while thinking.

"Not this way..."

ok.. I don't currently have the armor equipped, and that's one thing .. but those dices are brutal. Veronica is at -1

Female Human (Taldan) Bard 1/Swashbuckler 1

Veronica order a cup of vine from the waitress and waits for it while she brows through her potential companions or competitors.
When she hears the scream and the rat-like creatures emerges.

Suddenly startled, veronica turns towards the menace and puts her hand on the hilt of the rapier.

Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Lord Alystair looks you over for a few moments, not laciviously but appraisingly, ” Lady D’Ambrosia, I’m not sure what you think this expedition is about, but I hope if your interest is serious, you have something else to wear. Drink and eat if you are inclined. The fare is common, but delicious.”

Veronica giggles amused by the comment.

"Of course I have mylord. Although I have to say this very dress itself have seen a few... confrontations...
I assumed the occasion was a little more formal and less practical..."

Veronica gives a glance to some of the current patrons

"Apparently I assumed wrong..."

Veronica produces a letter from his pouch and presents it to the lord.

"By the way... I have a letter for you from Lord Stephen Lebeda. He sends his regards."

Female Human (Taldan) Bard 1/Swashbuckler 1

yeah.. is pretty active.
I was waiting for the master to acknowledge veronica's presence before delving in but I starting to be afraid that my introduction will be buried by pages and pages... also I want to jump in :P

I think if I don't get the interaction with the noble by tonight I will start engaging with the others.

Your alignment seems more of a lawful evil than a chaotic evil. as most "evil" characters in Game of Thrones are more lawful evil. the Mountain is neutral evil, otherwise he never would have become a knight. Ramsy would be the only one i would consider chaotic evil even then he still bows to authority. Raygar has been talked about as being chaotic evil... at the very end anyway... im not here to start an alignment war just stating what ive read and interpreted. She seems awesome though so i cant wait to see her in action!

Well. Lawful usually presumes a certain set of values. A certain respect for traditions, for institutions, a certain respect for authority.

She has pretty much none of the above.
If anything she games the system to get what she wants, which, sure, is common among Lawful or neutral evil too, but paired with a criminal past, hedonist lifestyle and a cherished collection of smuggled texts and art pieces of Nocticula coming from the crusader road that I would like to add to her background I think she qualifies as Chaotic Evil.
She is pretty much a social predator on par of a succubus, minus demonic powers.

Female Human (Taldan) Bard 1/Swashbuckler 1

I'm kinda undecided on whether to wait for a response in order to chronologically place my entrance or assume is in the order of the posts and weigh in on the current chaos.

Female Human (Taldan) Bard 1/Swashbuckler 1

The door of the Randy Sasquatch opens once more as a young lady makes her entrance.
She wears a fine black and gold dress that seems fit for higher society, a garland of white roses holds her red hair together in an elaborate hairstyle behind her head while still leaving some locks of hair to frame gracefully her face.
Still her Gown sports a slightly larger cut than customary, she sports high boots with no heels and a beautiful rapier is secured on her side suggesting more practicality to the attire than what a first impression would presume and an adventurous disposition.

She looks around her noticing several patrons, most of them identifiable as adventurers or sellswords of sorts and finally locating the person she really is interested in.

She quietly clears her throat and approaches the nobleman with a corteous smile.

"Lord Alystair Boehnre I presume..." she says addressing him just before placing a hand over her heart and hinting at a small bow with her head.

She then offers him her hand announcing.

"Your grace... My name is Veronica D'Ambrosia, Daughter of lady Eloise of the cadet branch of House Lebeda. I'm at your service Mylord"

Female Human (Taldan) Bard 1/Swashbuckler 1

I have some partial crunch, a proto-background (it's the whole story but lacks detail on a "rival")

The big picture is fleshed out I think I'll start to engage in the gameplay thread to get a feel of her interactions with the other characters.

Female Human (Taldan) Bard 1/Swashbuckler 1

I'm building up the character and I was wondering about the languages, What is the official language of Brevoy? Hallit, Skald or Taldane?

Also, will the different human languages have any kind of role, even minimal or am I wasting my options?

also... when a bard gains a new versatile performance do you allow to redistribute the points spent in skills covered by it?

Kingmaker, a campaign I always wanted to play, and a GM who is open (even though with some reserves) to evil characters.

Absolutely dotted for interest and I'm planning to go for a Chaotic Evil Bard/Swashbuckler.

Not the "I'm the Joker, I kill people at random for the lulz" kind of C/E, but rather the "I'm a bored debased bon vivant with loose morals who would probably pay at least some lip service to Nocticula" I will certainly be invested in keeping the party with me and keeping a mutual interest in eachother well being as well as pursuing objectives of mutual interest, even with good characters, especially with good characters, the more selfless they are, the more I'll want them to consider me worthy of their selfless sacrifices.
Consider her a "Game of thrones" kind of evil, a refined and civilized one who can work with its moral opposite when it suits her.

Bounty hunting for gold suits her, and later, carving out her own settlement and a position within it definitely suits her.
