background:
Sarmonia had a falling out with his family at an early age. His fascination with swordsmanship went well with them at first, but he became obsessed with a visiting minor noble from Restov, a city in South Brevoy. The style of swordplay he used seemed almost like magic and the noble ruffled a few feathers by embarrassing supposedly good swordsman in matches. Sarmonia began trying to emulate him in every way. Being one of the famed Aldori swordlords, the noble had a rather strict sense of honor which he imparted to the young Varisian along with his tutelage in swordsmanship. As he grew older, Sarmonia retained those values which put him increasingly at odds with his Sczarni related family, finally leading to his estrangement. Now he finds himself in Riddleport, a city practically anathema to his sense of honor, as he tries to find a way to support himself while continuing his development as a fine swordsman.
His acerbic wit does little to gain him friends and has caused him no end of trouble, but he uses this flaw to enhance his ability on the field. Combining his skill with intimidating banter, he cows his his opponents, making them practically defeat themselves. Despite his lack of couth, he is still a very honorable person and true to the few he considers friends.
