That all depends on how you want to look at the technomancer. Someone had to come up with the idea of fusing magic and technology at some point. There's nothing stopping another person with the magic talent and the technical know-how fusing them together without the Technic League's input. Though, yes, the fact that she would figure it out on her own would probably draw the ire of the Technic League. Though, if it's preferred, she could have acquired the secrets from a different source. Possibly a mail-in correspondence course.

Saria is already in the works to be a non-Technic League Technomancer. I see no reason why someone can't simply put magic and technology together like peanut butter and chocolate. She'd probably be shocked to learn the Technic League beat her to the punch, honestly.

Saria Cambert is a human sorcerer who just... arrived in Torch one day, several years ago. Wall-eyed, and wearing a purple robe with sleeves too big for her hands, most folks just gave her confused looks. Fortunately for her, a few hours after her arrival, a small robot came into town and began attacking a local tavern. Folks began to panic, and they called for Khonnir Baine, the town's resident expert on such things. He arrived to find Saria, sitting down and petting the robot, which had, somehow, fallen asleep. Needless to say, he was both impressed and incredibly confused. After permanently deactivating the robot, he asked Saria why she had come to Torch. She shrugged, and simply replied "I like robots. I heard there were robots here." Chuckling at the response, he offered to teach the girl what he knew about the strange technology of Numeria, alongside his adopted daughter Val, who Saria would come to look upon(in a manner of speaking, as her wall-eyes made looking at things kinda difficult) as a sister. Does that work? |
