Sargon the Dragon's page

Sargon continues his studies as he had before joining the adventurers.
His bond with Claudia lasted for many years to come. To the point where he'd be called 'great uncle Sargon', by her grandchildren.

He grew more even, as this bond lasted.

In the end, he became a pillar of protection to the settlement. Its own guardian dragon.

Sargon seems puzzled, tapping his chin with a claw.

"Curious. An ancient condition cured, just like that? I would have expected some more drastic conditions to have been met to accomplish that."

Dragons being able to live over millennia, Sargon speaks up.

"Greetings, elder spirit Cho-Oda. I am a dragon, not simply a short lived mortal.", he looks apologetically at the team,

"A great many years have passed, since the last mortal you've met was here. Those who have cursed you, as you say, would be but ashes and dust since times long passed. Would you know of a way to lift your curse, to release you of your current grim fate?"

Sargon tries to see if he can compare structure in the sentences.

Linguistics: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18

On the wizard's request, Sargon starts paying some more attention to the surroundings, ready to breathe electricity if anything hostile approaches.

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26

"Oh! Yes, please do. He could look like a battle wizard.", Sargon chimes in, genuinely curious, if only for seeing it briefly.

Sargon breathes out, trying to catch multiple targets.

Lightning breath, 60ft line, Reflex 15 for half: 3d4 ⇒ (2, 3, 3) = 8

GM, a breath attack can be used every 1d4 rounds. How would you handle this? Roll a d4 once as measure, or d4 after every time used?

Sargon lets electricity gather up at the back of his throat.

"Just give a sign, i can soften them up."

"Well, now we know they held monkeys in high regard. Or this one was a particularly loved animal in the least.", Sargon muses.

"Here is to hoping all mummified corpses stay dead."

Sargon examines the statues with interest.

"How old would these be, i wonder.
But that odd monkey man, could that be one of those spirits?"

Sargon makes a grin, as far as a dragon's mouth can produce such an expression.

"I hope it is majestic, at least a little. Palaces are by stories, so ruins thereof should be a bit still, right?"

[Grabs popcorn for the spectacle]

As the GM mentioned we push it left or right...

"Does someone have rope we could drag the blocks with? If close range effort would potentially harm us, being as far as possible away from it..."

[Pokes with the tip of the tail]

"Yes please.", the dragon says amused.

Sargon can try helping, 15 strength score.

If possible, Sargon spews lightning several times to try kill the piranhas.

In response to Olivert's question for a lift;

"I can only effectively carry one of you on my back."

Claudia's light armored, and Sargon can currently carry up to a max of 200 lbs. Probably one or the other as a passenger.

Sargon ponders the peculiar decorations.

Sargon will fly up and prepare a breath attack in case whatever comes at us is hostile.

Sargon starts flying to the north west, to 20ft altitude.

Sargon, hovering in the air with an archer on his back, seems to enjoy his new size.

"I wonder how far along this has developed..."

He inhales, then exhales a line of lightning, trying to catch as many ghoul monkeys in its path as possible.

Electric breath, 60ft line: 3d4 ⇒ (1, 3, 1) = 5

Reflex DC 15 for 1/2 that.

Recharges every..: 1d4 ⇒ 4 rounds.

Kn. Religion: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14

"There's something familiar to this....i can't quite put my claw on it....darn. those bite marks are rather particular...."

Sargon snorts with a grin at Olivert's comment about an inviting smell.

"You can praise yourself lucky, that you do not possess a keen sense of smell like i and Claudia do. It's horrible..."

"....then perhaps we should look around the temple complex first.
But some undead skeleton worshiper....sounds dedicated, but worth being careful around."

GM, would it be too late to reassign a few skill ranks for achieving prerequisites for a specific feat at lvl 9?

While you have mentioned some of his studies, would it be a stretch to think he would have done some looking into Knowledge Planes?

"The 2nd he doesn't know about. His minions got butchered. I can tell you where, but it warrants caution. Whatever can kill three ogres is bad news."

"Well, it could have been worse. It could have been a centipede.
Petting something furry seems to work relaxing for some people. So say some of the children, at least."

Sargon slightly grunts..... "Yes, a whole clutch of little ones would very much help the food problem...."

"Juvenile tormentors?", Sargon eyes Oliver curiously.

Since Claudia is focused on lord Aristide, Sargon was just looking, half following the conversation, after his talking to Francoix.

he adds with a wink before Dargys explains the situation and he grows more serious again.

Sargon must have missed it, but suddenly cocks his head, looking towards, yet past Claudia. His eyes become somewhat inquisitive, and he slowly moves towards Francoix.

"Is it customary for Taldan nobles to wink at people they meet within ten minutes?"

Unless Oliver can hit DC 29 perception, how Sargon might have noticed, is a mystery. :)

"It's not my fault such a tiny bird shivers in the presence of a dragon.", is the reply.

"But you're right, it will need seeing to."

Oy.... Sargon my young friend... growth spurt indeed. Im going to have to ask you to avoid the rafters now my friend.

"That will not be a problem, do not worry."

We were planning an expedition to go explore some nearby ruins. Salvage what we can and use it to buy food. Will ye join us?”

"Of course!", Sargon seems quite excited to see new places.

"I would hardly be a capable explorer if i remained the size of a dog for another 20 years at least."

"Plus, you've already shown interest and care for our kind. Taking that childling around with you."

Sargon shrugs, as far as is able with a dragon.

"I said what it is. Partners, what was the expression again....until death do us part?"

Do Dragons get married?

"Not in your traditional sense, no. We find a partner to share our lives with. In a way my current situation is similar, but what would you call it....a partnership of convenience. I like her, but i will far outlive a human, barred from any unexpected events before she'd pass away."

"She arrived in the last group to start living here. I have asked her, well told rather, that she had to meet you guys. She shouldn't be long."

The door to the tavern opens, and where last you saw Sargon as a small sized wyrmling, he is now the size of an adult bear.

A regular black bear is medium sized.
