Female Human (Krieglander) Frost Sorceress 2

Just a heads up. I have (again) gone over my download limit and as such have been relegated back to Dial Up speeds until the end of the pay cycle. So for the next 2 weeks my posting will become splotchy as I have to ration my time (sometimes it can take up to 5 minutes just to load one paage :/ ). I'll still Post, it just may be only a couple for the fornight is all. Sorry.

Saorise nods her head. "Agreed. I too am interested to see what happens after everyone but us has left the ship."

Female Human (Krieglander) Frost Sorceress 2

Saorise wanders the hold with Jorgen while the others run the meet and greet on the shore. Probably better I'm not there, she thinks to herself with a grin, all it would take is for one of them to be an idiot and I'd have us kicked back out of the town.
Furrowing her brow, she motions to Jorgen at another set of Runes that have appeared on the interior of the hold since last they checked. Jorgen then points out yet more of them, explaining their meaning to her. She quickly pulls out her Iauk and scratches over the fire Runes while Jorgen goes to work on the others.
"What do you make of it," she asks him. "I'm fairly certain they weren't here last time we looked right? Do you think we should tell the others?"

Female Human (Krieglander) Frost Sorceress 2

Saorise looks longingly again at the buildings before agreeing with Jorgen. "It's agreed then."
She turns to those remaining and says, "Jorgen an I will come ashore and see the accomodations, but we will be remaining on the ship tonight as guards."
She then grabs her meagre gear and moves to join the others, Jorgen following her.

Female Human (Krieglander) Frost Sorceress 2

Saorise sniffs at Jorgen's remark, but doesn't correct him. "I want to be in a nice soft bed tonight instead of that Gods forsaken wood, but I also want to make sure nothing happens to the ship in the mean time. What do you think, should we stay here for the night or go ashore? I must admit that my funds are lacking at the moment so even though I want that bed, I won't fight you if you say to stay." She looks longingly at the shore as she finishes.

Female Human (Krieglander) Frost Sorceress 2

Saorise stays back with Jorgen, watching the others as they try to keep those on shore off balance with multiple sources of speech. She smiles and whispers again to Jorgen, "it appears that some of them are good for something after all, even that bastard Priest."

Female Human (Krieglander) Frost Sorceress 2

Saorise's eyes narrow as Helga tells the women about the supposed curse. "Stupid girl," she mutters under her breath to Jorgen. "Why would she say anything about a curse considering how the crew took it."

Wisdom Check: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14

SAorise looks longingly at the shore as they get closer, wanting to be back on dry land for an extended period, but still wanting to keep the riddle of the Albatross fresh in her mind.
She and Jorgen finish conversing with Thorsten about what he should do with his talents and then move towards Ragnar and Kurn.
"What do you two think we should do with the ship once docked," she asks. "I am not keen to let others utilise it but am not yet ready to see it destroyed without knowing what went on."

Saorise is now Level 2 :)

Female Human (Krieglander) Frost Sorceress 2

Saorise gives Jorgen her best withering "very funny" stare.
She then tries to catch Thorsten's attention and gestures to him to join herself and Jorgen when he finally sees her motions.

Female Human (Krieglander) Frost Sorceress 2

Upon hearing of Thorsten's "problem", Saorise moves to discuss what to do with Jorgen. "I think we should urge him to contact the Druids, possibly giving him a message from yourself with your recommendation that he be trained. What do you say?"

As they finally enter the port, Saorise breathes a sigh of relief, finally happy to be off the blasted sea and back on land. She is however still interested in the mystery of what happened on the ship and will continue to discuss the situation with Jorgen and anyone else who wants to see it solved.

Female Human (Krieglander) Frost Sorceress 2

OK, I'm sorry it took me so long to catch up. Getting back from holidays I had to re-format my computer (and thankfully upgrade to Windows 7) and so that took a few days to get it back up to scratch. Then I've been sick and busy and had to catch up with half a dozen PbPs (I'm sorry yours was the last FW). I'm back again now and finally ready to continue if you'll have me. :)

Level 2 Ice Sorceress Hit Points: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Let's throw caution to the wind shall we: 1d6 ⇒ 5 Gotta be happy with that one, right. :)

Female Human (Krieglander) Frost Sorceress 2

Watching the leadership struggle with interest, Saorise is surprised to see Jorgen wading into the argument.
Shaking her head at the oafish Anya, she moves forward to take up a position at the masthead. Ready to move out, she turns back to see how the situation resolves.

Female Human (Krieglander) Frost Sorceress 2

Saorise squints as she tries to understand Ragnar's question, but when he points to Thorsten she quickly understands and after a few words she lays her hand on is arm. Casts endure elements He almost immediately stops his chattering and is up and about soon after.

"I don't necessarily want to leave the ship until we've figured out what is going on, no matter how much I hate sailing, but I think the Druid has a good idea, that we should at the very least do some exploing in the other direction to see what we can on foot."
She looks out in the opposite direction to that taken by the scouts yesterday. "The only thing I can see wrong with waiting for another scouting party is that if the group that left us," ahe pauses to spit on the deck, "reaches a town first, they could poison the townsfolk against helping us repair the ship. Rowing, even with the reduced number of us, would probably get us there faster and give us more chance of aquiring help from the locals."

Female Human (Krieglander) Frost Sorceress 2

Saorise's eyes narrow as she looks around at the scant crew left after the mass desertion. "How exactly are we supposed to move this great thing with the few that we have here?" she asks at nobody in particular. "I for one wouldn't even be able to lift one of those oars, let alone row with it and I doubt the Half-Elf over there," she points in Helga's direction, "could do much better."
She sighs loudly. "But of course we're going to do it anyway aren't we because truthfully, unless we want to trek to the next village or town then we don't have a whole lot of choice do we?"
She shakes her head and moves to the stern of the ship, sitting down against the side and brooding silently to herself.

Female Human (Krieglander) Frost Sorceress 2

At Kurn's telling of the others leaving, Saorise snorts in derision. "Cowards. not one of them man enough to face what is happening. Rather run home to suckle at their mother's teat."
She spies the young men coming towards the boat and points. "See. Now here we have men of courage."
She looks down at the boat beneath her feet. "Something is going on here on this cursed ship and I fully intend to find out what. No spirit is going to make a fool out of me," she shouts at the air around her.
Shaking her head, she walks over to Jorgen and whispers, "one of the ones that stayed must be behind what has been occurring. We need to be on our guard and vigilant at all times."

Female Human (Krieglander) Frost Sorceress 2

Saorise thows her hands up in exasperation after a long and fruitless seach of the ship. "I give up," she says to Jorgen angrily. "Whatever did this to the ship and crew is either extremely powerful and is easily evading our search, or is gone which would indicate one of the crew members is responsible."
"Gods curse this fou ship and the fate that made us needd to sail on it." She suddenly laughs at her outburst. "I just realized that the Gods can't really curse it anymore than it already is now can they." This last statement seems to have alleviated some of her anger, although she still stalks up and down the deck as Jorgen watches stoically from the railing.

Both are investigating in the hold when Taggrik and Kurn start arguing. Although they find some tools, they are the tools of a blacksmith not a rune carver.

FW, do you require any Rolls from Saorise or Jorgen for their investigations? I'm happy for you to make them if you haven't already been doing so. :)

Jorgen Ulrichsson Truesight wrote:
"We should probably examine the ship while everyone's off of it. What do you think?"

Saorise has a far off look in her eyes as Jorgen approaches and for a moment she doesn't respond. Finally, her features harden and she turns to him, saying, "yes, I agree. There is definately something strange about this ship and I intend to find out what."

She gets the far away look once more and then leans in close to her companion and whispers, "do you remember the feeling I got before? Well last night while sleeping I had the most vivid dream." She then goes on to tell Jorgen about her dream.
Jorgen look under the spoiler above for Saorise

Female Human (Krieglander) Frost Sorceress 2

Saorise drops the wind once she hears what was going on and scowls at Kurn's taciturn grumbling.
She does agree with him about getting everyone off the ship though and races around, making sure that noone but herself an Jorgen remain onboard for the moment.
"What do you want to do?" she asks Jorgen. "Do you think we should remain onboard or go ashore?"

Female Human (Krieglander) Frost Sorceress 2

Watching from the the ship, Saorise sees Taggrik drop the knife and step away from Drago. She keeps the wind close 6 rounds remaining, but halts it's assault on the First Mate to see what he is about, since the others are all gatherd by this point.
"What is going on," she calls down to the shore, wanting to know whether or not Taggrik is still a threat and wondering what made him stop.

Female Human (Krieglander) Frost Sorceress 2

Saorise glances quickly back at Kurn and informs him of the situation before returning her attention to stopping Taggrik.

Saorise continues with her biting wind attack on Taggrik (7 round left after this one)

Shaking her head as she sees Taggrik jump over the side into the water, she happens to glance down and her blood runs colder than usual at what she spots. Her eyes narrow and she quickly looks at the form of the First Mate as he makes his way up the beach.
Springing to her feet, she kicks Jorgen as she rushes over to the edge of the boat and calls down a howling wind to buffet Taggrik as he approaches Drago.

Casts biting wind on Taggrik (details of the spell can be found in Saorise's Profile under GM INformation)
Biting Wind Ranged Touch Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Non-lethal Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3

Female Human (Krieglander) Frost Sorceress 2

Saorise looks up at Taggrik through bleary eyes. Those eyes narrow as she takes in his demeanour and insistence.
"I believe he was taken ashore to rest and get away from the ship's corrupting influence. I would suggest that you do the same as it is not entirely safe on board at the moment. The three of us have thing in hand here. You should get some rest, you've had a trying time the past few days." She indicates the shore with her head and turns slightly to indicate that the conversation is at an end while still keeping Taggrik in her peripheral vision as her sixth sense is telling her something isn't quite right.

Female Human (Krieglander) Frost Sorceress 2

"I'll try and cautiously watch people for signs of magic use," Saorise whispers back. "It won't make me any friends if I'm caught, but I think that ship sailed around the same time this one did, no." She gives a smirk with the last statement. "Not that I care what anyone else thinks mind you."
"You should probably get some rest first though. I don't want you dropping dead of exhaustion with that bastard cleric around. I don't think I can take him on my own if he tries something." She glances towards the shore. "and speak of the devil, it looks like he's coming back on board."

Female Human (Krieglander) Frost Sorceress 2

Looking disturbed by the news that the attacker is someone onboard the ship, she motions towards the now defaced Runes.
"So what do you think, should we simply go through everyone's belongings looking for the necessary tools, or maybe set a trap for them?" she asks Jorgen quietly. "It could very well be anyone and I certainly wouldn't be surprised if it's that bastard Priest of Krakis."

Female Human (Krieglander) Frost Sorceress 2

Ignoring what is going on with Drago, Saorise spends her time with Jorgen and the Runes.
"So what do you think is causing them," she asks Jorgen. "Is it one of the crew, a possible stowaway or do you think that the ship really is haunted?"

Female Human (Krieglander) Frost Sorceress 2

"Why don't we simply rip up the infected section of deck and cast it away?"

Female Human (Krieglander) Frost Sorceress 2

"You should bring him down off the ship for starters. It's quite possible it's not doing him and good by being on board," Saorise calls as she prepares to descend to the ground with Jorgen's assistance.

Female Human (Krieglander) Frost Sorceress 2

Saorise catches Jorgen's glance and rols her eyes. "Very well," she says as if it were a chore, "at least it will get me off this damnable boat. Let's be off then." Ahe waits until Jorgen is down and gets him to help her off the ship.

Female Human (Krieglander) Frost Sorceress 2

Saorise moves over to where Drago is laying to see if she can be of some kind of help on the voyage. Feeling that he is burning up, she attempts to create some ice over his leg to stem the spread of the poison and try to bring down his burning.

After her time with Drago, she head back out onto the deck and over to the rail as they approach land.
Perception Check: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
Turning back to look over the deck, she spies Jorgen and she once more motions him over to point something out in the rocky cliffs. Conferring with him for a second, she calls to Taggrik to also show him what she's spotted.

Female Human (Krieglander) Frost Sorceress 2

Jorgen approaches Saorise, a question evident in his eyes.
Before he can ask though, she grabs his arms. "I felt it again. Not as strong as before, but I definately felt as if... something, were watching over me for a second. What do you think happened on that chunk of ice?"

Female Human (Krieglander) Frost Sorceress 2

Saorise glances around cautiously, although not at any of the goings on. Her brows furrow when she can't seem to find what she's looking for and she instead looks for Jorgen and motions him to come over.

That's probably not a good thing... :/

Female Human (Krieglander) Frost Sorceress 2

Saorise looks around at the others rushing around and shakes her head. This is why she tended to stay away from her father's boats. She hated the sea and she was next to useless on board one during a voyage.

Female Human (Krieglander) Frost Sorceress 2

Perception Check: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20

Saorise look over towards Drago, but sees Jorgen heading over and decides to let him go, remaining at the railing.

Female Human (Krieglander) Frost Sorceress 2

Now that the ship is sailing smoother, Saorise rises shakily to her feet and staggers to the railing. She leans over and the remaining contents of her stomach go arching into the water. Her normally pale complexion is whiter than ever, but after a few more minutes with no more heaving, a small amount of colour returns to her cheeks and she manages to stand against the rail and look at the crew scurrying around.
"It will be a joyous day when we leave this gods forasken deathtrap behind us and are once more on solid ground," she mumbles to herself.

Female Human (Krieglander) Frost Sorceress 2

I'm so sorry guys. Work has once more been a freakin' nightmare and the last week has seen me totally worn out, to the point where I have been going to bed at the same time as the kids instead of staying up to do my internets. :(

French Wolf:
FW I'm really sorry. I have had far too many absences lately and I apologise. If you want me to drop out then I fully understand.
If however you want me to stay, we can say that Saorise was violently ill from the stormy weather and has been unable to help out with anything until the storm cleared and the seas calmed back down.
It's your call and I will abide by your decision.

She allows herself to be led back to the ship, her only words to Jorgen are simply "I hope you are right."

A flash of anger clouds Saorise's face as Jorgen holds her back, but after glancing at the Ice Gargoyle and noting it looking back, the anger fades and she sighs once more.
"I need to find a way to get that feeling back Jorgen," she says as she turns to her protector. "If only I could find it again I know that everything will be better."

Saorise looks at Jorgen, who is eyeing her suspiciously. "It was like... everything was right all of a suden and then it was gone. It is the strangest feeling I've ever had. I wonder; could the staff be involved somehow?"

Seeing Anya standing guard over the amazing creature and Ragnar searching for anything mundane, Saorise decides to cautiously move closer to the Staff. When she is near, she whispers some arcane syllables and motions towards the frozen rod.

Female Human (Krieglander) Frost Sorceress 2

Sorry for my absence guys. (Self inflicted) Problems with internet... :/

Saorise's eyes flicker to the various items in the chamber, wondering about this treasure that the creature is guarding. She only half pays attention to it's words, except when anything about the treasure is concerned, especially regarding the Staff of the Eye.

Female Human (Krieglander) Frost Sorceress 2

Saorise stays behind the others, content to let them do the talking for the moment while she observes what's going on.

When Jorgen turns back around, Saorise riases an eyebrow and grins to herself. She then puts her hand on his shoulder and whispers in his ear, "I wish to see what is going on a little closer, cover me."
With that, she takes off after Stefnir and Anya, shoring up any bad spots in the icy deck with ice of her own she'll cast more icreate ice, but only to a maximum of 5 more times, she doesn't want to run herself dry on Cantrips just yet as she goes.

Female Human (Krieglander) Frost Sorceress 2

Saorise stands back next to Jorgen. After her attacks did nothing to what she now knows are Storm Elementals, she is feeling a little vulnerable and is happy for Jorgen's protective closeness. She listens intently to the exchange going on between Kurn and the disembodied voice, while looking down the icy deck towards the frozen figure displayed upon it.
