Santiago del Fuego is a charming, basically good man, but he's also a bit of a hothead, diligently working through some anger issues.

He was a Qadiran street urchin taken in by Laqat, an old crone but an experienced bard and successful information broker. Laqat, for reasons known only to herself, secured a place for Santiago with the woman Matviyyah, a devout and loyal dervish of the Dawnflower, both a warrior and a priestess, and one of the most prominent of Sarenrae’s faithful in Katheer.

Laqat and Matviyyah eventually told him the truth: that though he was ‘mostly human,’ he is, in fact an ifrit, with at least one ancestor who was an efreet, a being from the elemental plane of fire.
