Hey there,

Our situation is that we have just defeated a powerful boss that was worth quite a bunch of experience (we are all level 6). In the fight however, our cleric died.

After the fight, we had the cleric resurrected and we completed out quest. The question our GM posed (because he wasn't sure either) is whether or not the cleric should receive experience for killing the boss or not, as he was dead when we defeated the boss.

This matters to us, because it makes the difference of him leveling up or not (while we all level up).

I tried looking through the rules and searching these message boards, but I couldn't find the answer. Is this house ruled or am I missing some obvious rule about this?

Kind regards,
Silvan

Hello,

I'm intrigued with using Eldritch Heritage to get a familiar for my Abyssal sorcerer, but something in the wording of Metamagic Adept caught my eye. It says the following:

Rules wrote:
Metamagic Adept (Ex): At 3rd level, you can apply any one metamagic feat you know to a spell you are about to cast without increasing the casting time. You must still expend a higher-level spell slot to cast this spell. You can use this ability once per day at 3rd level and one additional time per day for every four sorcerer levels you possess beyond 3rd, up to five times per day at 19th level. At 20th level, this ability is replaced by arcane apotheosis.

Now I'm pretty sure Eldritch Heritage (and improved, and greater) are not meant to be able to fetch a 20th level power from another bloodline. Then again, the wording of Metamagic Adept says it will be replaced by the 20th level power of the Arcane bloodline.

Is this a loophole of sorts / illegal, or is it actually possible?

Hello there,

In many posts people say that you can never have more than a +5 inherent bonus to any stat. I play an Abyssal Sorcerer, and Strength of the Abyss eventually gives a +6 bonus to STR. This seems very conflicting to me.

My question is: Is this an exception to the +5 rule? How does it work exactly?

Also: Could I use Improved Eldritch Heritage to delve into the Orc sorcerer bloodline and take Strength of the Beast in addition to Strength of the Abyss, thus giving two +6 inherent stat bonuses to STR?

Hey there,

My friends and I had a little dispute last night about where a Flaming Sphere starts when you cast it.

It is my opinion that I would be able to spawn the Sphere anywhere within it's cast range (100 + (10*level)) which would have been 140 yards in my case. The other players disagreed and said it spawns in the square in front of me and roll 30 yards from me (maybe even using up my move action just to roll it!)

I've searched through lots of message boards to get a clear answer, but an answer from here would probably be best. :) Can anyone clear this up for us?
