Male Human Ranger 1(Favored Class +1 HP)
Standing at five foot and ten inches, Sadid is hardly an imposing figure. His black hair hangs short about his face, left to grow but kept close enough to keep out of his eyes and require little maintenance. It frames dark brown eyes and a darkly tanned clean shaven face that has obviously seen many days out in the harsh sun. He is dressed in loose, white, linen clothes of an Osirion style overlaid with well used but well cared for leather armor laced with studs of metal for added strength. Worn leather boots come up his calves, laced tight against the encroaching sand. A falchion is slung over his back, crossed by a quiver of arrows, and his shortbow is almost always within easy reach. Most of the trip has found Sadid keeping to himself. Even his morning and evening devotions, nearly identical to those of Aaliyah, are performed removed slightly from the camp. He observes everyone with a keen interest, particularly the others that Garavel hired, but does not go out of his way to engage any of them in conversation. A casual observation of the man could reveal that he seems to be carrying some weight with a grim determination. He is currently riding point for the caravan where his skills can be best used, keeping an eye out for anything out of the ordinary. Perception check: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15

Here's the info for Sadid, as submitted. The group looks great. I'm really looking forward to starting. Just a word of warning though, I'm running on Tokyo time, so my posts will likely be at night for most others. Not that it matters much for this, but I thought I'd make sure everyone knew. Sadid: Name: Sadid Safwan, Class: Ranger, Race: Human, Alignment: NG , Deity Worshipped: Sarenrae.
I would like to use the variant Ranger presented in the Campaign Setting that exchanges Animal Empathy for a better Animal Companion. Though he is unhorsed now I would like for him to acquire a new one at some point and use this as his companion. I’ll probably also go with archery for a combat style but he’ll likely use his falchion just as much. I’m really going Ranger only because that’s what he feels like to me and any other advancement will most likely be influenced by RP Standing at five foot and ten inches, Sadid is hardly an imposing figure. His black hair hangs short about his face, left to grow but kept close enough to keep out of his eyes and require little maintenance. It frames dark brown eyes and a darkly tanned clean shaven face that has obviously seen many days out in the harsh sun. Most times those dark eye shine with an inner spark that shows in his broad smile and easy laugh. He is dressed in loose, white, linen clothes of an Osirioni style overlaid with well used but well cared for leather armor laced with studs of metal for added strength. Worn leather boots come up his calves, laced tight against the encroaching sand. A falchion is slung over his back, crossed by a quiver of arrows, and his longbow is almost always within easy reach. Sadid is normally a very easy going and personable young man. He loves to meet new people, learn about new places, and especially try new foods. He has a soft spot in his heart for those who are down on their luck especially orphans and will go out of his way to help those in need. He is quick to laugh as long as the joke is not at someone else’s expense, but when the situation calls for it he is deadly serious. He also has an especial love of poetry and carries a book of it with him nearly everywhere, though he wouldn’t dare to write any of his own. Recent events, however, have left him more sullen and morose than usual. Though in the company of others he does his best to hide it, he is hurting terribly from the death of his adopted father. While Sadid grew up in Kelmarane he was forced to flee when the town was attacked by gnolls. He managed to escape with a large number of other refugees but in the chaos he lost both his mother and father. Alone, confused, and scared, he was taken in by an Osirioni cavalier who had happened to be passing through. The man, Humam, took him in as his own son and brought him to Osirion. There he was raised in the strictures and values of Sarenrae as well as being trained in the martial arts. When he was of age he was accepted into the same mercenary company as his father. He served with distinction making his father quite proud, until the day that their company, escorting a merchant caravan through western Katapesh, was ambushed by gnolls. The company was broken and scattered that day, killed nearly to a man, and he barely fled with his life. Horseless and with barely any supplies, he wandered the rocky deserts of western Katapesh surviving on little but his wits and skill. Eventually he found his way to a Katapeshi trade town where he was able to find work here and there as a guard or hunter as he tries to overcome his grief and get back on his feet. This is where Garavel found him, a shadow of his former self but with obvious skill that came recommended by several townspeople. All it took was the mention of gnolls and Garavel found himself with an eager hand ready to sign on. Sadid has a score to settle with those brutes, and perhaps he can finally find some peace in doing so.

Koveless glances around a few seconds before walking up to the pile of garbage and starting to move pieces out of the way. It’s obvious he’s not used to digging through filth and he’s obviously squeamish, but he’s willing to do whatever it takes to get out of here as fast as possible.

Koveless pulls his dagger out of the goblin, frowning as he cleans it on the creatures rags of clothing. Holding it gingerly in one hand he turns to sign to Genevieve. Whatever we do, we should do it quickly. If there are more goblins about, I'm sure they know these tunnels far better than we or the Hellknights.

Koveless leaps to his feet just as Janiven turns to face the door, his hands drawing two daggers as he moves to place himself between Genevieve and the door. Ordinarily his reaction might be construed as paranoia, but considering their recent topic of conversation, it's probably justified.
Male Human Ranger 1(Favored Class +1 HP)
Koveless looks just as shocked as Genevieve does and looks around the room as well. He seems more in shock than anything else, glancing to the others of the group to see what their reaction is. Still, he doesn't look as though he disagrees. Truly there must be a better way to live and who could be more responcible for the present state of things than the ruling families? But to say so out loud... This woman is either very trusting, very brave, or very stupid.

Koveless watches everyone with those softly glowing eyes as he eats. For a tiefling he seems to lack much of the paranoia than many of his 'kin' develop. On the contrary he seems very much at ease. Anyone observing him even casually can tell that there are several points where he seems he would like to enter the conversation, but doesn't.

The cloaked figure raises his hands from within his robes and waves a hand to all in the room. There is something odd about the hand, and as it launches into a few simple signs that are obviously supposed to mean something, it becomes plain. The long thin fingers each have one too many joints. The hand and arm while of a normal hue, shimmer as though covered in tiny scales rather than skin. From under the cowl a feint yellow glow can be seen, and as he pushes the cowl down it all makes sense to anyone for whom it did not already. Here is certainly a tiefling, even if he lacks the typical horns, the rest of his features cannot hide it. He says nothing but instead moves to pull out a chair for Genevieve, politely accepteing the offered drink, and taking a seat next to Gene after she sits while taking a better look at everyone else. He does not appear to be armed, save for a pair of daggers in his belt.
Well Kargan is all loaded up on Google Docs and I shared him out to Jason's address. That should be about it. I've also picked out an image for him. As for how well Kargan knows any of the others... I would say not that well aside from what he's observed. He's not a really talkative fellow, more of a people watcher. He can carry on a conversation well enough if someone else starts it, but isn't one to start it up himself. So I guess it would depend on how persistent the others were in engaging him. Otherwise, he keeps to himself a lot. Hopefully this will change through the course of RP. My characters rarely end the same as they started. When we get an actual OOC thread I'll post a his actual description. Unless we want that in the IC thread. Either way. Oh, and my address to add me to the GM Google Docs is spoiler: allanc at light-flare dot com. |
