"It is plausible." S1G-NL begins. "There are many hangars here, and for records could certainly be incorrect, whether unknowingly or intentionally." "With an upgraded drift engine, however, I imagined it would be a target for anyone who knew the ship. Anyone who was paid off to shelter her may have turned around to strip her themselves. An overclocked drift engine is something that would appeal to most anyone, but especially those looking to perform illegal actions." S1G-NL pauses. "Why are you speaking to us and not the authorities? I trust you have the proper documentation of ownership and aforementioned insurance claim paperwork?"

S1G-NL begins to point out both that it was only doing its job, and also that it does not eat or drink, when the others have already accepted. Hardly in the "mood" to celebrate, with the assumed accomplice managing to escape, S1G-NL silently submits a request for station camera feeds to hopefully get a sense of where the potential accomplice was going.

Got it, okay, apologies for the delay. I've added my Drone to the map using my avatar here, and my Body to the map using R2-D2. With his drone segment having been able to fly off the balcony, it arrives at the suspects first, and begins scanning them to run through the database. It activates its camera, recording the suspects as it draws closer. Drone Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 S1G-NL's lower form was forced to take the stairs, losing time, but continues to pursue both his top half and the suspects.

S1G-NL is already moving and splitting into two parts when Tremox prompts it. While its head section flies up into the air to get a better vantage point, its lower section crawls along the floor, activating an internal speaker system, and booming its voice throughout the area. Intimidate (Untrained): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15 "This is Constable S1G-NL of the Stewards. You are wanted for questioning in connection with a theft. Resistance will be seen as indicative of guilt." Double move for me, double move for the drone, swift action to activate voice amplifier, gives +2 Intimidate and lowers the DCs of other creatures’ Perception checks to hear me speaking by 5.

Tremox Soshi wrote: He glances at S1G-NL and just nods in his direction, but less gregarious. "Inspector. What's this about drone racing? You're not going to lock up a bunch of kids having fun, are you?" Yoromishtali wrote: ”They can fly their drones in the designated areas for that. Racing here among the people and delivery drones, that’s something I frown upon. Plus if they break these rules, what rules will they break in the future?” The six crab-like legs of his body moving in sync, S1G-NL closes in on the others, his single bright optical "eye" studying them, and the multiple conversations. After a few moments, he makes a chirp sound as he begins speaking. "Mr Yoromishtali is correct. It is not an issue of the children having fun, but there are places for that. What they do puts others at risk." S1G-NL detaches his head-segment, and it begins flying upwards slightly as a drone itself. "It would be quite hypocritical for me to be anti-drone, so please understand that I am not. I also am aware that I have at times... exceeded the speed parameters." Its head hovers slightly before lowering back down to its body with click. "But I do that with an awareness that these children do not possess. They have neither my reaction time nor the same level of sensor sophistication." "Their lack of piloting skills and awareness puts me, and delivery drones, and even other small creatures at risk... That said, of course I do not wish to lock them up. And I do not think we can make positive IDs on them. Until such a time as the station installs new surveillance equipment, our hands are tied. So to speak." Disapproval of the surveillance equipment, and the weapons equipment, and the droid equipment, were often sore spots for S1G-NL. "In the meantime, perhaps Mr Yoromishtali can simply take away their toys." Profession: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25 Aw yus Nat 20 for the SuperCop. Per Diem is 50 creds.

Yoromishtali wrote: Tremox and S1G-NL could have a fun buddy-cop vibe -- we’ll see?! That sounds like it could be pretty fun, haha. Yoromishtali wrote: As for S1G-NL I’m still thinking. Maybe Yoromishtali comms him too often to report minor infractions of Abaslom’s laws? Or maybe he attempts to make too many citizen arrests before S1G-NL arrives and diffuses the situation. Hrm, especially with Yoromishtali teaching kids, yeah, he may overhear things from / about their parents / other kids? The idea of calling S1G-NL for minor infractions is also pretty amusing, especially if it's like calling the FBI because someone was jsywalking, haha. Tremox Soshi wrote:
Tremox Soshi wrote: I could see back in the day, Moxie and S1G-NL would have been two parts of a Law & Order episode. His outlook now probably depends on how abusive the authorities are to the locals. I'm sure he sees many of them as decent people. I just didn't want to tie him to any authority structures based on the info given, so former prosecutor turned into a Hell's Kitchen Nelson & Murdock lawyer seemed right. The way I'm sort of seeing it is that because S1G-NL technically works for the Stewards, it's a bit of a situation of having a Federal Agent hanging around a local police station. A lot of the more local authorities probably don't like him a whole lot, and as a lot of the security force is made up of less-sophisticated robots, he probably doesn't think too highly of them, either. I think the idea that Tremox wants to do right will mean that S1G-NL mostly respects him, and I think S1G-NL does think someone needs to be looking out for the locals, especially in cases where the security-bots run into things that are beyond their programming. With that said, yeah, some of Moxie's methods are things he may find questionable. I think his big fear would be of Moxie getting a case overturned where the person really was guilty of something pretty serious. |
