Class Features:
Weapon and Armor Proficiency: A fighter is proficient with all simple and martial weapons and with all armor (heavy, light, and medium) and shields (including tower shields). Sorcerers are proficient with all simple weapons. They are not proficient with any type of armor or shield. Armor interferes with a sorcerer’s gestures, which can cause her spells with somatic components to fail (see Arcane Spells and Armor). Draconic Bloodline (Su): Each dragonheir scion can draw her lineage back to the influence of a great draconic progenitor. At 1st level, a dragonheir scion must select one of the chromatic or metallic dragon types. Once chosen, this cannot be changed. A number of dragonheir scion’s abilities deal damage and grant resistances based on her dragon type, as noted below. If a dragonheir scion takes a level in another class that grants a bloodline, the bloodlines must be of the same type, even if that means that the bloodline of one of the classes must change. Subject to GM discretion, the dragonheir scion can change her former bloodline to make them conform. Choosing copper dragon. Eldritch Strikes (Su): At 1st level, a dragonheir scion gains Arcane Strike as a bonus feat. She does not need to meet its prerequisites. This ability replaces the bonus feat gained at 1st level. Fearful Might (Ex): At 2nd level, a dragonheir scion gains a +1 bonus on Intimidate checks to demoralize a foe. This bonus increases to +2 at 6th level and by an additional 1 every 4 fighter levels thereafter to a maximum of +5 at 18th level. This ability replaces bravery. Bloodline: Each sorcerer has a source of magic somewhere in her heritage that grants her spells, bonus feats, an additional class skill, and other special abilities. This source can represent a blood relation or an extreme event involving a creature somewhere in the family’s past. For example, a sorcerer might have a dragon as a distant relative or her grandfather might have signed a terrible contract with a devil. Regardless of the source, this influence manifests in a number of ways as the sorcerer gains levels. A sorcerer must pick one bloodline upon taking her first level of sorcerer. Once made, this choice cannot be changed. Choosing Draconic bloodline. Familiar Tattoo (Su): A tattooed sorcerer gains a familiar as an arcane bond, as a wizard equal to her sorcerer level. Her sorcerer levels stack with any wizard or witch levels she possesses when determining the powers of her familiar—this ability does not allow her to have both a familiar and a bonded item. Unlike most familiars, her familiar can transform itself into a tattoo that she carries in her flesh. Transforming into a tattoo or back to normal familiar form is a move action for her familiar. In tattoo form, the familiar looks like a stylized version of itself, but does not count as a creature separate from the tattooed sorcerer. In tattoo form it continues to grant its special familiar ability, but otherwise has no abilities and can take no actions except to transform from tattoo into creature. A familiar tattoo cannot be erased or dispelled. This ability replaces her 1st-level bloodline power. Mage’s Tattoo (Ex): At 1st level, the tattooed sorcerer gains Mage’s Tattoo as a bonus feat. If she doesn’t have Spell Focus, she may choose which school of magic her Mage’s Tattoo enhances. Choosing transmutation school. This ability replaces her Eschew Materials bonus feat. Bloodline Tattoos (Ex): Whenever a tattooed sorcerer gains a bloodline spell, a new tattoo manifests on her body to represent this spell. Her bloodline spells are always enhanced by her Mage’s Tattoo feat, even if they don’t match the school to which her Mage’s Tattoo belongs. Traits:
Magical Knack: You were raised, either wholly or in part, by a magical creature, either after it found you abandoned in the woods or because your parents often left you in the care of a magical minion. This constant exposure to magic has made its mysteries easy for you to understand, even when you turn your mind to other devotions and tasks. Benefit: Pick a class when you gain this trait—your caster level in that class gains a +2 trait bonus as long as this bonus doesn’t raise your caster level above your current Hit Dice. Choosing Tattooed Sorcerer. Keeper of the Veil: Even when not cloaked in magic, your training has taught you how to conceal your true nature. Benefit: You gain a +1 competence bonus on Bluff and Disguise checks, and one of these skills (Disguise) is always a class skill for you. Discerning Eye: You noticed that a traveling merchant was trying to buy what appeared to be a mundane item from Braggar Ironhame for a fraction of its value. You pointed out the item’s true value and unique qualities, preventing the stranger from taking advantage of the surly dwarf- and possibly making an enemy in the process. Pick one of the following skills: Appraise, Knowledge (arcana), Knowledge (religion) or Spellcraft. You gain a +1 trait bonus in that skill, and that skill is a class skill for you. Choosing Knowledge (Arcana). Feats:
Alertness [Bob Bonus Feat]: You often notice things that others might miss. Benefit: You get a +2 bonus on Perception and Sense Motive skill checks. Combat Stamina (Combat)[Free Feat]: You stop at nothing to drive your attack home. Prerequisite(s): Base attack bonus +1. Benefit(s): You gain a stamina pool. After you make an attack roll with a manufactured weapon, unarmed strike, or natural weapon attack with which you are proficient, but before the results are revealed, you can spend up to 5 stamina points. If you do, you gain a competence bonus on the attack roll equal to the number of stamina points you spent. If you miss with the attack, the stamina points you spent are still lost. Special: Since you have a stamina pool, you can spend your stamina points to use any combat tricks associated with combat feats you possess. Forgotten Past (Story)[1st Level Feat]: A pivotal event from your past eludes your memory. Prerequisite: You must have suffered permanent memory loss or have the Reincarnated background. Benefit: The duration of mind-affecting spells (even beneficial ones) is halved for you, to a minimum of 1 round. Your inquisitive nature gives you a +2 bonus on Perception checks. If you have 10 or more ranks in Perception, this bonus increases to + 4 . Goal: Regain a major portion of your lost memories. The exact means varies, possibly requiring a wish, assistance from a divine being, reliving a past life, or confronting the situation that led to your memory loss. This process must involve encountering a challenging foe, though possibly in ways other than direct confrontation. Completion Benefit: You roll twice whenever you attempt a saving throw against a mind-affecting effect, keeping the better result. Special: Restoration of memories by means less significant than miracle or wish does not qualify for the prerequisite. Exotic Weapon Proficiency [Human Bonus Feat](Combat): Choose one type of exotic weapon, such as the spiked chain or whip. You understand how to use that type of exotic weapon in combat, and can utilize any special tricks or qualities that exotic weapon might allow. Prerequisite: Base attack bonus +1. Benefit: You make attack rolls with the weapon normally. Normal: A character who uses a weapon with which he is not proficient takes a –4 penalty on attack rolls. Special: You can gain Exotic Weapon Proficiency multiple times. Each time you take the feat, it applies to a new type of exotic weapon. Choosing dueling sword. Dodge (Combat)[2nd Level Fighter Bonus Feat]: Your training and reflexes allow you to react swiftly to avoid an opponents’ attacks. Prerequisite: Dex 13. Benefit: You gain a +1 dodge bonus to your AC. A condition that makes you lose your Dex bonus to AC also makes you lose the benefits of this feat. Shield Focus (Combat)[3rd Level Feat]: You are skilled at deflecting blows with your shield. Prerequisites: Shield Proficiency, base attack bonus +1. Benefit: Increase the AC bonus granted by any shield you are using by 1. Skills:
(2 Base, 0 Mod, 1 skilled, 1 FC, 2 Background) 3 levels = 18 SP * = Class Skill
Bluff (Chr): 8 [ 3 ranks, 1 mod, 1 trait]
Special Notes: Trying to appear as a different gender with disguise is a -2, but only changing minor details is a +5. This leaves her at a +3 situational modifier when attempting her usual disguise. Bob:

"Can I watch ye get ready?" Brody asked his adopted sister when she sat down before her bedroom mirror. His onyl reply was his sister making an exaggerated face of exasperation and rolling her eyes. The little lad crooned in delight and clambered up onto the seat next to her. She already wore her custom shirt that smoothed out the lines of her body. Unlike a corset, the purpose was not to squeeze the life from her for an hourglass figure, but rather to hide the curves the young woman had. Wearting the tunic overtop helped as well. She looked down at her little brother while reaching for a diminuitive brush, and then abruptly tousled his hair. "Suppose it's better than dad watching again." she mused. Leaning forward into the mirror she began to brush out her eyebrows. Widening them and making them flatter as opposed to how neatly smoothed they had been just before. She then took a few clips and pinned her hair fully back. It was at this that Brody really stared. Her little brother had always been fascinated with her coppery hair. "How come yer har so red?" her adopted brother asked. "Just is." was her simple reply. She had fielded that question on multiple occasions. After pinning her hair back she reached for a few strips of special tape. She tilted her head out to one side, closely examing her eye and pressing the skin back on her brow to slightly change the shape. Lifting it so it was wider and looked less almond shaped. Once she was satisfied she then applied the tape to her brow in a pair of places to help it hold. She then removed her hands and carefully scrutinized her eye. With a nod she then went to do the same to her other eye. She was not done there however, as she also had to pull her cheeks back so her features weren't so angular. This was the trickier part. All the while her brother watched, at least quietly now, as his sister continued her transformation. Next was makeup. Taking some of the warm peach from her cheeks and emphasizing her brow. It was this part that she scrutinized the most. If she was trying to look her best this was the step that mattered to both genders. Once she was finally satisfied, and her brother's excitement was simmering, she took up a folded red bandana and tied it to her forehead. Effectively hiding the tape there. Then, she undid the hair clips and let her wealth of coppery hair spill down. She parted her hair, careful to clip it back on one side so that it didn't obscure her face, but also so the tape on the back of her jaw was concealed. She left her bangs falling freely across the other side of her face. She was fine with brushing it out of her eyeline with her fingers as needed. Her transformation nearly complete she stood and retrived her tabard. Pulling it donw over her head, getting her hair from the collar, and then tucking it into the strap on her belt. Retrieving her sword she donned her weapon and struck a pose for her brother. "How do I look?" she asked as she effected the deeper voice of her alter ego. Her brother marveled as his sister "Russ-iete" had vanished and been replaced with the identity those about town knew her by. "Roos-iaye" stood confidently with a smirk on his fair features. Her brother marveled. "You're so weird." he reasoned after a moment. "Yes, well that makes me family I guess." Russiet reasoned, "Da certainly likes me this way. I find him arcana on me trips and I go out waving this sword about at poor beasties nesting in ruins." Her brother made a displeased face at this reasoning. "But yer pretty sis..." Brody returned. Her features melted at that, favoring the lad with a warm smile that softened her features and threatened to betray her disguise. She went down to a knee and looked into her little brother's eyes. "Yer a sweet'n." she returned before pressing a soft kiss into his brow, "But ahm not bold enough when everyone knows I'm a girl." She then rose and secured her mask atop a corner of her forehead. "C'mere Bob." she said as she turned away and made her way to the open door of her room. Her familiar, that had been floating about the room a moment before, bobbed through the air toward her. As it drew close to her sword arm Bob seemed to blur from sight. Turning to a formless swirld of magenta and incandescent blue that was pulled through the air to her forearm. Russiet gave a brief check as the colored swirld vanished to reveal an intricate tattoo that seemed almost as if a collection of gems had been implanted into her skin. Russiet didn't remember her previous life. She had been teleported into a nearby glade as a child. Not remembering anything but her name and some of her latent abilities. Moltus Vardigan and the druid Olmira Treesong had been the ones to find her. In an uncharacteristic move Moltus had decided to take her in. This was due to her obvious (to him) draconic heritage. It was an odd thing. The man had taken her in hoping to see her sorceress talent develope, but that path had stunted early on in her training. Amusingly, her willingness to study obscure tomes of arcana is what ended up endearing the girl to him. Even as it was being rumoured that her adopted father's mind was slipping Russiet helped keep him sharp. Scribing notes, translating texts, and making abridged copies that could be quickly thumbed through. As she trained herself privately in the arts of a dragonheir her adopted father did not fail to notice, and as she matured he was all too happy to send her out of town on errands. Most of her time was spent with her adopted family and father, or taking on his tasks and her training in solitude. When Russiet had played with other children as a child she was initially mistaken for a boy. Being a shy girl she had not been able to correct the boys and girl (Looking at you Nicolette!) who mispronounced her name as "Roos-eaye". The mistaken tomboy had eventually started to take advantage of the error. Playing herself off as a boy to make it less awkward for herself and giving her a bit more confidence than she would normally be able to muster. As she grew this became more of an effort, with the girl needing to take more drastic measures as she became a woman. This has led to her having a bit of a split reputation between the regular townsfolk and those who truly knew her. With the spirited "Roos-eaye" being a regular topic of the young ladies of the village and seen as a prima madonna by many of the lads. Meanwhile, "Russ-iete" was the reclusive lady of the family who dutifully went out of her way to make things easier and more pleasant for those who had taken her in. Forgotten Past *Spoilers*:
Miemrieg , Destroyer Of Men, had a rather unfortunate name to be made famous by. The copper dragon having a reputation for several bloodlines among the mortal races. In particular she had a fondness for humans, being shorter lived than elves and dwarves. It worked out though! Some of her descendants had been of much help designing her lair in the border wood between Qadira and Taldor. As everything Miemrieg did it had worked out. Here she made a reclusive lair, ignoring the monsters of the border wood in favor of anonymity. She had angered a great blue dragon to the south, and so had moved north to lay low until the brute decided to sleep off his anger. Who would have thought the beast such a romantic? She had merely taken the guise of a blue to perhaps flirt her way out of a fight, and had not expected him to be so angered by the ruse. What was his name again? Pffft, not important. Today she was being attended by one such family of her bloodline. The father wasn't of her bloodline, but had been a master metallurgist. He had inlaind the sweeping bronze patterns that wove through the floor she rested on currently. That much was already an improvement over her previous lair, made it feel so much warmer. Still, he was only allowed on this visit because of his wife. A minor Taldor noble who may or may not have any real claim to nobility. Just some retired adventurer who settled on a parcel of land on the forests northern end. She was a sorceress descendent of a real Taldor noble she had bedded so long ago. Had been instrumental in securing those of Miemrieg's bloodline, and the dragon had reluctantly to admit the woman was the main reason her current lair was so comfortable a hideaway. The dragon's tail bristled at the thought of being forced to reside anywhere for an extended period of time, but at least this was nicer than her last lair. Still, everything was working out. Today the couple had brought their small child, and Miemrieg had to admit she was intrigued. The girl, young even by human standards, stared up at her and marveled at her as if she was the most amazing thing in the world. A proper first impression Miemrieg noted smugly. The child bore her features, at least in human guise. Her hair a burnished auburn that seemed like silken copper. Certainly didn't come from the ruddy color of her mother, or the dark locks of her father. No, this little one had a very strong resurgence of her bloodline. Perhaps she could train her to help pass the time. Turn her into a truly legendary sorceress who would renew Taldor's glory and have the name Miemrieg on the tongue of every mortal. That would anger what's his name so much he might just go north to Taldor and try to stamp her out. Her mood brightened considerably at the thought. It was then that a tremendous impact resonated through the room of the cave. The force of it causing both stalagmites and ceiling relief to scatter and fall to the floor. The great dragoness effortlessly swatted away a chunk of rock that would have squashed the family flat and let out a low growl. Who dared? A great roar echoed in her cave, and her anger quickly turned to fear. She recognized the sound of the great blue brute she had angered. Looking down to the family below she made a hasty decision. She had warded the room with some more chaotic magics to prevent lesser casters from working magic in here, but now she needed to whisk her blood away before she fled. She had really liked this place. Much to her chagrin the wards she enacted had been damaged as well, and it was affecting her own magic as she started to weave a teleportation spell. She reasoned it would be fine. Everything she did worked out. Looking down at the young girl once more she couldn't help a smile. This little one would be going on a proper adventure it seemed. Description:
Russiet Teloda stands a few inches shy of six feet tall. As a man she would be of slight build but sported well toned musculature . Her hair was long enough to fall past her shoulders and was a vibrant red copper color. Silky and feather soft it showed a tremendous amount of care. She wore an ivy green cloak that covered the shoulder of her non-dominant arm. It was pushed back by a leather pauldron on the opposite arm to keep her sword uncovered where it remained belted at her hip. She wore a tunic of fine knit cream colored cotton with copper thread weaved through the front of it to display the imagery of a dragon. Some of the thread had been deliberately aged so that green hues tinted parts of the dragon's majestic form. Underneath her tunic was a tan shirt that clung to her body and smoothed the lines of her body. Her pants were oak brown linen that tucked into her boots and were belted off at the waist with a fine belt. The belt also had a leather strap that kept her tunic tucked in at the waist to highlight her trim figure. A finely polished copper belt buckle also depicted a dragon. This was a coming of age gift from her adopted family. Her boots were a ruddy clay red and went up her calves. They had laces that went nearly from the toe all the way to the top of the boot. As a final piece to her outfit she has a mask to cover her face. Normally she keeps it pinned up on one side of her head, but has been known to cover her face with it on occasion. It has a rich leather base that pairs well with the face plate of the mask which is made of copper and engraved with art of gemstones. Progression and Party Role:
Russiet will be going into the dragon disciple prestige class. She will continue to increase her natural armor and physical stats as she levels, and should serve as an effective frontline "tank" for the group. She will also provide some arcana and subterfuge potential to the group. It might be a good idea to take up riving strike if the party wants to effect enemies with spells (Bohrs) or spell like abilities (Calaithes.). |
