They really need some tweaks to make the game feel more solid. This, this, this...my greatest concern currently, however, I'm sure they are still working on ambience, sounds and combat but would be reassuring to hear more about these systems current state and plans for their future,
Hiya All, My first post here, my first experience with the Pathfinder games, my first time truly feeling like I found a crowd that is as much as a dork as me since I was a kid...simply put I am gloriously excited about this game. This all came to pass when I saw a post on Massively.com saying there were some alpha keys being given away in a thread. Now I had heard about Pathfinder's Kickstarter (actually it was the first mmorpg I had ever seen use Kickstarter)and always kinda kept a keen eye on it but it seemed like it would not be out till 2016, unsure of the devs, been burnt soooo many times before, we all know this story...there are lakes filled with our tears lol. So some kind soul shot me his last key and off I went. At first I almost stopped playing because I thought all there was to play was this little starter town, perhaps I could travel a little out of the town but that was it. I would click the map and see where my character was then move for about a minute or two and my character seemed to be in the same place, or so I thought. Well in actuality my character WAS MOVING it's just that the map was INSANELY LARGE!!! I quickly began running as fast as I could, past goblins, ogres and others of this ilk. I must of ran for about 5 minutes before I hastily looked at the map again. My little character STILL HAD ONLY MOVED A FRACTION. "What is going on here?!", I whispered to myself. Immediately I begin to ask noob questions. Question, after question, after question (I still have tons of questions lol) and everyone answered AND answered politely!!! "So is this the entire map for the game at launch? It's huge!", I typed with reckless abandonment. "No this is just a quarter of the game," (the player may have said a third or half or some other mathematical configuration but I was so flabbergasted that this was just A PIECE of this world I quickly forgot). So now I'm thinking I have to test this game. I have to try out combat, crafting, etc. I do and for an alpha state found them as a solid base but what was more impressive is I could see the DIRECTION of where this team wants to go. After further study I continue to see this sense of direction in almost all elements of the game coming from this mysterious GW's company...refreshing. So now I'm thinking do I want to buy into this game? I do some more research and found Ryan Scott Dancey defending his position on GW's EE to the people commenting on an article on Massively. Ryan completely slays, debunks, mystifies and essentially owns every negative comment...I think he may be some kind of a wizard. Also through the course of reading these comments I learn that if we buy into EE we get to KEEP OUR CHARACTERS!!! GW's I have a very aggressive wife, a three year old girl, a two year old girl, a 2 month old boy and a puppy that must of escaped from the hounds of hell pack. Do you understand what you are about to get me into??!! So that's my story. I will be buying this game today and I hope this post catches the eyes of someone on GW's team because you truly are making something special. I'm 37 and have played all the games (mmo's and tabletop with an exception of Pathfinder which will be rectified this weekend!) and I truly feel as if I have found a diamond in the rough with Pathfinder Online.
