Rurik was six when he first had the dream, water rushed around him and still he held the beast for what seemed like forever his hands burned from touching the beast, finally the beast stopped threshing and Rurik awoke with a start, he had been in a fever coma for 3 days. His parents, a moderately wealthy caravan master and his wife, where relieved that their only child had survived and had hoped that would be the end of it. But it happened again when he was 14, this time he was leading a host against a iron fortress, they breached the gates and he did battle with a powerful devil, driving him away in defeat, as his army set the tower to the torch he woke again. He had been in a coma for a fortnight and none of the clerics brought could wake him.
His father began to look for someone to help his son, many clerics and charlatans came but none could help. On his 18th birthday he fell into yet another coma, on that day a man in red came to the door of Rurik’s parents with the answer they looked for. He was Yaron Okael an Angelfire Apostle, his duty was to find “Ragathiel feathers” he told the family ”When Ragathiel father tore the wing from The General of Vengeance the feathers settled across time and the planes into the souls of the worthy” he explained that Rurik’s soul was touched by Ragathiel, and that his cult could bring out the boys potential.
Rurik traveled to Magnimar to train with the cult to be an agent of Vengeance on goloran. He trained in arms and armor, learned the teachings of Ragathiel. The Templars drilled him on the holy sword of The General of Vengeance and hardened him against the elements. After a year of training Yaron Okael came to him, he had a Divination and seen the need for Rurik to travel to Last wall. This is his first time on his own and he arrives in Roslar's Coffer nearly broke, with no real idea why he is needed, or what he should do next.
