I have Second Edition adventures! Teeth of the Storm is a 1st-level adventure, and the first partnership product between Run Amok Games and Rogue Genius Games. Get it here! The Horseshoe Calamity is a 7th-level adventure I wrote for Legendary Games. Get it here!
Man, that bonethristx really does not like this adventure! It's Run Amok Games' first one-star review, so I talk a little bit about it on my blog here.
Once I'd set my mind to a collection of villains, this came together very fast--however, I couldn't just leave it at stat blocks and had to include motivations, treasures, mini-adventures, and supplemental rules support (like vehicle rules where applicable). Check it out, and ping me with any questions!
Take a look at our latest adventure--an urban investigative mystery! Some possible questions answered: * Suitable for any urban setting of large town size or larger.

The newest Run Amok Games adventure--bringing our total number of adventures to five--is now available right here. "Beyond the Serpentine Lock" is a wilderness and dungeon exploration adventure for PCs of 3rd or 4th level. Check it out! Thanks, Ron Lundeen
Joshua Goudreau wrote: Third party groups have tried to fill the void and certainly no offense to third party groups but quality is spotty unless you know just where to go and then, options still remain limited. Please do give us third-party publishers a try, because reviews let people know which 3PP stuff is good, and the not-so-good stuff doesn't get better without feedback. I'm particularly vested because of the very recent release of our first high-level adventure, Kingdom of Toads, right here.
Our latest release, the high-level 58-page adventure "Kingdom of Toads," is very timely. It's for 17th-18th level PCs, and scales down to 15th level or up to 20th. You can get it in pdf right here! It's not a Paizo product, but written by a Paizo adventure-writing freelancer--does that count?
Yay! Let me see if I can anticipate and answer a few questions about this. * It's written for 17th-18th level PCs, but includes guidelines to scale it down to 15th-16th level PCs, or up to 19th-20th level PCs. * It's 58 pages. * It contains about 20 encounters, which should be enough for your PCs to gain one-and-a-half to two levels. * It's hard. * Yes, it would work well as a capstone to an Adventure Path, although some work to link this adventure to the AP would be necessary (some guidance about how to do this--or to link this into any campaign--is included in the adventure) * A free preview--containing one of the shorter of the six acts in the adventure--is coming soon. Anything I've missed? I'm happy to answer any questions!
End, I also want to say thanks for all your reviews. You don't just drop an offhand review and call it done--your reviews are insightful, and you're specific about what needs to be improved and why. As a 3PP, that's incredibly valuable information. Your willingness to engage in a dialogue about your reviews, and to revise them when the product has changed, goes above and beyond. Congrats on the milestone!
At Run Amok Games, we've continued our core line of Pathfinder adventures with the low-level horror-themed adventure Teeth of the Storm. We've also branched out a bit by compiling a large collection of pregenerated PCs of multiple types at multiple levels, our Emergency Character Collection, which also has a free sample to show you what you're getting.
Endzeitgeist wrote: And reviewed here, on DTRPG and sent to GMS magazine. Cheers! (Also submitted all my Run Amok Games adventure reviews to Nerdtrek.) Thanks for the review, End! This is helpful if I ever put together this type of product again. It's a bit out of my usual focus of adventures, but it was a lot of fun to do!
I'll weigh in as another publisher. I use both DriveThruRPG and Paizo to distribute my products. Because my products are exclusively for the Pathfinder system, I get better feedback, comments, and reviews here at Paizo. I have a much larger audience, and better product tracking services, at DriveThruRPG, and as a result my sales are about split half-and-half. The advantage with DriveThruRPG is that I use their Print-On-Demand service to get all of my items in print. I generally don't "cash out" my royalties at DriveThruRPG, but instead spend those royalties on printing several copies of my products, which I mail to Paizo for sale in their store, I distribute to local stores and conventions, etc. The royalties I get from Paizo are what I actually consider my "real" royalties. To echo a common sentiment so far, definitely do look into distributing through DriveThruRPG, even though your cut is not as nice as at Paizo.
DecembersOwn wrote: Hey all, I am looking to run a one shot horror adventure for Halloween. Are there any modules that would fit the bill for this? Thanks in advance! Our Pathfinder adventure Teeth of the Storm, available here, for 1st level PCs, was designed for just this type of session!
Our next product, "The Emergency Character Collection," is soon to release here on Paizo.com (it's already available at RPGNow and DriveThruRPG). “The Emergency Character Collection” includes thirteen detailed characters, each ready to play with printable character sheets for levels 1, 3, 6, and 9. In total, that's 52 PCs. Each PC comes with an illustration, roleplaying hooks, design notes, quick customization tips for different campaign types, interesting variants, and an in-game justification for appearing right on scene as needed. We're also releasing a free sample to show you what you're getting in "The Emergency Character Collection": the free sample contains 2 of the 13 characters. Check it out! Ron Lundeen
As a slight spoiler but a great tie-in, the chase scene in the middle of this adventure works very well with the Ennie award-winning GameMaster Chase Cards Deck!
This adventure's first review is a five-star (plus seal of approval) from Endzeitgeist right here. Check it out!
Thanks, Creighton! The good folks here at Paizo already have it available right here. I'm excited to hear what people think of this little horror gem!
Our third adventure, "Teeth of the Storm" is now available at RPGNow.com and will soon be available at Paizo.com. "Teeth of the Storm" is a gothic horror adventure for 1st level characters. It includes a .pdf file with all of the encounter maps in color, ready for printing. Because this adventure also includes notes on how to run it in an "ultra-horror" style where the body count is sure to rise, it also includes pregenerated PCs. Halloween is coming early! Take a look!

In addition to. The 26 pages of maps are a separate file from the 57-page adventure. I'm not holding myself to any particular page count for adventures-- my adventures are generally designed to fill 6 to 10 hours of play (give or take), and however many pages it takes to tell that story is how long the adventure ends up. That said, this adventure is on the long side, and future adventures will probably be roughly the same size as "The Six Griffons Haunt" (about 35 or so pages). To give a glimpse of future projects in the pipeline, "Teeth of the Storm" (for 1st level PCs) will likely be on the shorter side, and "Kingdom of Toads" (for 17th-18th level PCs) will likely be on the longer side, if only because stat blocks and tactics for ultra-high-level adventures eat a lot of page count.
Creighton Broadhurst wrote: How easy would this be to adapt to lower level PCs - say 3rd-level? Fairly easy, I'd say. The adventure includes all the necessary revisions for running this for 5th or 6th level PCs. For 3rd level, you'd do more of the same types of suggested revisions yourself. For example, a 10th level NPC in the adventure is in the "Scaling This Adventure" appendix with stats and tactics at 8th level if you're running the adventure at lower levels (and at 13th level if you're running the adventure at higher levels, incidentally). You'd have to put the NPC together at an even lower level--such as at 6th level--by yourself. But certainly possible. Some minor spoilers:
* This adventure doesn't presume the PCs have access to any specific magic or effects--for example, the adventure doesn't require flight or invisibility, even though these abilities are readily accessible to PCs of 7th or 8th level (and make certain encounters easier). One specific case in point: the adventure has sidebars for what corpses "know" if questioned via speak with dead, which low-level PCs won't have. That information isn't critical to the PCs' investigation, but can be useful.
* There is a combat with an incorporeal undead, which could be problematic for very low-level PCs that can't affect it. Thanks, Ron
Come check out the second Run Amok adventure, "The Underdelve Menace," a 56-page rural investigative adventure for 7th or 8th level PCs. The adventure contains a mix of roleplaying, investigation, and combat encounters. Like our first adventure, "The Six Griffons Haunt", this adventure comes with a file containing the maps you need, ready to be printed (in full color) and dropped on the table at 1 inch scale. Unlike "Six Griffons Haunt," in which all the action takes place within a haunted manor house, "The Underdelve Menace" map file contains five separate encounter areas--so you get many more maps from the very talented Hugo Solis. Thanks, Ron Lundeen
Just a note that Run Amok Games' first product, the Pathfinder adventure "The Six Griffons Haunt," is now available in print and print/pdf bundle. The latter gets you the .pdf file, which includes the great full-color map by Hugo Solis. Also, this adventure just received a 5-star review from Endzeitgeist. Check it out! Thanks, Ron Lundeen
Greetings, all! Run Amok Games has just gone live with its first adventure, The Six Griffons Haunt. Please have a look! I'm excited to be joining the great community here! Ron Lundeen, Run Amok Games |
