About Ruby

Ruby was born to a poor family in the small mining town of Preden, both of her parents had to spend their long days of mining far away from home. It was not long until the Devils came, They took control of the small town and enslaved the populace. After that fateful day Ruby never saw her parents again; too young to work in the nearby mines she was left alone to die.

Ruby survived in the gutter of the town no one wanted to remember; fighting for her life on a daily basis. When she was ten Ruby was arrested for stealing from the local bakery. Her sentence was to spent in the gladiatorial ring fighting for her life and her freedom. When Ruby's sentence was finally over she found herself once again in the guttersome town of Preden. To survive she soon began working as a courier for local criminal organizations. As her deliveries, and her policy of don't ask don't tell, took her further and further from her home town she began to feel something missing.

Then came a day that Ruby will never forget. On this day she making a delivery to the Ethereal Marketplace in Erith. While doing so Ruby found herself perusing some of the odder weapons the vendor's had for sale. It was then she found it, Crescent Rose. It was a weapon from a different time, a strange fusion of rifle and scythe. Ruby knew in that moment that this weapon was what she had been missing for so long.

Ruby offered to pay for the weapon later after she received her pay. The stall-keeper, an elderly gnome woman, agreed to let Ruby have the weapon in exchange for future payment. When Ruby came back a few days later to pay the kind gnome it was only to find her vanished. Ruby knew that vendors of the Ethereal Marketplace often came and went through the hidden planes and, resolved to pay the gnome whenever she next met her.

Ruby began to train with her new weapon and found that wielding it came to her as naturally as breathing. Though rogue by any means Ruby continues to do whatever work comes her way; asking questions only when the coin is light.
