"Well, they don't know what they are doing. They asked me to use my 'powers' to magic some cards or something. I let them know how poorly qualified they were to evaluate talent. "

I'm here.

Roulette's mind reels as she tries to extract herself from danger. [i]What's with this guy? He thinks I'm some sort of witch who can hex people? How ridiculous...
"Guys, your problem isn't your luck. Your problem is that you are all open books to Edward. Your tells have tells. Not to mention that you are playing a game that is incredibly easy to grasp the mathematics of. This is a man who spent his life befuddling the world's greatest detective. You guys aren't likely to give him much of a challenge."

Roulette:
Roulette pays careful attention to the game, continually counting the cards and running the odds in her mind. She isn't sure exactly what these guys are hoping for, but she figures she will play along. Do they think she can just make things happen? She isn't a matter manipulator, after all. Despite her confusion, the game unfolds as she hopes, the cards falling in such a way that the Captain and the hatted villain are the final two players, the Captain having the advantage. Mr. Nigma? begins to sweat as the likely final hand plays out. Unfortunately for everyone involved, Roulette's oppositional attitude and subconscious mind betray her, and the cards turn sour for the Captain. Nigma, desperate, goes all in, and pulls out a win with four 3's.

After Nigma collects most of the currency on the table, another hand allows him to quickly wipe out the Captain's holdings. The guards exhort and threaten Roulette, but that is not the way to get her cooperation. As she becomes increasingly heated and defiant, the Captain's luck turns and Nigma takes it all.

Roulette does her best not to pace like a caged cat. Deprived of her luck, bothered by the sorts of things that happen to normal people, she grows increasingly unhinged. She trips over nothing, drops her spoon at meals, gets things in her eye, spills toothpaste on her jumpsuit, can't open chip bags, and all of the normal things that most people ignore. If there were light switches and she missed one, she might rip the whole unit out of the wall. Fortunately, the prison controls the lights.

At meals and community time, she will be just flirty enough to be distracting and will bet on anything. If there are bugs available, she will train the to race, or jump, or something. Anything to keep her mind busy.

Roulette rises from the table and moves to return her tray, allowing some swivel in her hips to draw the attention of those who are so disposed. She is entirely willing to let their distraction be he advantage.

She turns back toward the group and flashes a small plastic sphere, slightly smaller than a ping pong ball. "So there was a roll on deodorant in my welcome package, anyone wanna play bounce. And the first person who makes a double entendre out of that has to bunk with Horror."

Bounce, two bounce, four bounce, etc. are prison games that basically involve bouncing a ball (or anything really) into a trashcan in a certain number of bounces. I imagine that with individuals like us, it would probably be more complicated, bouncing balls off of ceilings, walls, and all kinds of crazy trick shots. It is also, obviously, an opportunity for Roulette to get people betting.

"Illegal casino, tax evasion, kidnapping, unlawful imprisonment, murder, theft by deception, blah, blah, blah.... You know, the usual. But mostly having a bad day and a worse lawyer."

In a tone suggesting Kalden should keep up with his reading, Roulette intones, "There are currently 22 super powered individuals who make use of nanotechnology either to generate or enhance their powers, including Captain Robo, the hero formerly known as Cyborg and now more commonly called VICTOR, The Shield, and of course Mr. Terrific, the fourth smartest man in the world, and my dear daddy."

The last drips with bitterness.

"I assure you, Jimmy, that I have hosted far more delightful parties than you have ever attended. But I am not here to have fun. I am here to not be here any more, as soon as possible."

She takes all of the sexist attention calmly, willing to let her appearance distract those willing to be distracted.

"Take care with the Tiger. He is a little bit Bane, a little bit Wildcat, and a lot crazy."

Roulette does her best to avoid wrinkling her nose in distaste at the conversation, and at Piper's strange behavior.

"All of you are missing the point. There is no point here in avoiding notice, or bribing guards. We are not here as some sort of experiment. We are here because we are being treated like the Christmas Goose. Fatted for the harvest, as was the pig before he became that bacon."

Roulette turns her head toward Eric as she moves toward a table, "Mr. Kalden, I've never needed anyone else's approval but my own. At least you appear to be mostly human. Besides, how would they punish us that would be worse than this? But please refrain from calling me baby."

She takes a seat, stubbing a toe on the leg of the table and curses under her breath. She thanks The Source that the suppression field can't inhibit her training, but hates how hard every day things are here.

Roulette hated change. And yes, she thought of herself as Roulette. No one knew her name, and she didn't want any random psychics picking up on it.

Roulette hated change. She hated being moved to a new facility. She hated the jerks she had been put in here with. She had a clear and orderly mental routine that this place was clearly designed to disrupt. She like her small sterile cell and her processed, homogenized food paste. She certainly wasn't going to eat anything prepared by the weirdo who liked to work in the kitchen. He didn't seem to have much idea what to do with human food. In her time, she had eaten everything from foie gras to hakari (Icelandic fermented shark meat) to raw potatoes, depending on her circumstances at the time. But she really preferred simple, clean food. She was afraid that if she worked in the kitchen, she would feel it necessary to stab one of her fellow inmates, so she ate what she could get from the commissary and the occasional hard boiled egg.

AA23 seemed fairly secure, and she didn't yet have a plan to escape. But she wasn't worried. Something always worked out. She had never been held anywhere for very long. This place wouldn't last, either.

Heading through the cafeteria line, she asks, "Dunwich, do you have any whole kiwi remaining? I would prefer to prepare it myself. If not, one hard boiled egg if you have it."

Roulette is trouble. She is serving multiple life sentences for crimes from murder to unlawful imprisonment and kidnapping. She is a hostile to her keepers, and as deadly with a fork as with a gun. When she is around other inmates, terrible things happen to them. So she is kept in a featureless Lexan cell, with no access to the outside world. The only viewports into the cell are mirrored so that she cannot see out. Food is delivered through a slide-like tube, in quick degrading pouches that quickly disappear.

Outside of her cell Roulette is a charming, beautiful woman.

Made a few final changes. I lowered Comprehend to 2 ranks with the intention that she can function in any language in the world, but not alien languages. She should also be able to power stunt to codes so that might come in handy.

Gave her ability to attack with probability control with variable effect, which I forsee being mostly making attacks against her go poorly for her adversary. So maybe she baits someone in to shooting at her so that he will shoot a steam pipe with jets hot steam at him, or lures someone onto a precarious perch or whatever.

She is built to be a street level villain, someone who would be a pain for Black Canary or Batman.

She generally wears two chopsticks or rolls them around her fingers. This gives her something to be deadly with.

I think it would be interesting for each player to describe their incarceration. What kind of cell does it take to hold you? What procedures might be observed every day with your character. Just something fun to think about.
