I'm a winner for this moment!

I may have too much time on my hands

That's right the 1000th post wins, but for the win to count you have to claim it in the 1000th post. something on the line of this is the 1000th post and I won or some such similar nonsense.

If the owner of post 1000 doesn't claim their win, the game stays open until the 2000th post and so on.

I'd rather the posts made some kind of sense, even if just in a string of random thoughts way, but I'm not an administrator and can't enforce that rule.

As with the rest of the forums here, the only thing the winner gets is bragging rights

1000 posts takes awhile but I think spanky will win.

4ed killed your family? bad roll?

I like steak.

you're

It may have been mentioned before spanky, you have too much free time on your hands.

Truly, Thank you for the game we all enjoy.

That was awesome!

kinda of late to this post; but hey I voted... for Bob Barr.

In 2007, McCain didn't vote much because he was running. He voted for Immigration and Iraq War stuff, both of which he agreed with the president on. Obama agrees on the Immigration stuff too. They're all pro-immigration.
So.....you get a 97% for that year.

In 2005, he had a number in the high 70's. That's considered pretty damn anti-partisan right there. The assertion that McCain is a Bush clone is based on this 90% number they keep kicking around. Yet another example of taking statistics and making them say whatever you want them to mean.

I guess thats pretty bad if you're anti-immigration, no choice between the two front runners.

Wow. My 90% statitistic explanation got totally glossed over. It's stuff like that that almost makes me resentful about getting chided for poking fun by making up Palin stories.

I believe your 90% to be skewed by the number times the senate votes to congratulate a sports team or other taxpayer waste of time that goes through unaminously. (can't spell).

What qualifies as a bleeding heart liberal?

That is a definition that would take a long time to explain. Let me try to sum it up. My wife is a moderate Democrat and always loves to call me a bleeding heart. It's because my type believes that a country is responsible for taking care of its citizens. Yes, there are those that take advantage of Welfare and SS and Unemployment, but that matters not as long as these programs are helping those in need. Take from the rich, give to the poor, raise taxes, I don't care, whatever it takes to save a single human life from suffering. I am against despoiling nature for lowering gas prices. I support gay rights, I am ProChoice (as long as it is done in the first trimester), I believe in Evolution, the separation of Church and State, the rights of individuals over corporations, so on and so forth. I hate the Republican mantra of Lower Taxes, Pull yourself up by the bootstraps, Big Business/Small Government (I want BIG GOVERNMENT).

Does that help at all? I'm not Socialist yet, but I am very far to the left of center.

Thank you for defining that I disagree with many of your views, but accept your right to them, other than abortion. When does a baby get its right to live? I believe at conception.

I've always said that Carter gets a bad rap. Carter was an overly cautious POTUS that made a few bad choices, but he didn't steer the country into bottomless pit. I think he has done much better things since he left office.

Yes, he's done much better since he left office. There was that deal he worked out with the North Koreans back during the Clinton administration to stop their nuke program. And let's not forget his meeting with Hamas - an organization that has pledged itself to the destruction of an entire country. Very laudible accomplishments.

Of course, he did do Habitat for Humanity. That's cool.

Stop? they have nukes now!

[Yeah, I think Lincoln was actually a Republican (or what has now become the Republican party). Hey, I try to vote for the best man; but in my case (since I'm a bleeding heart liberal, freely admit it and love it) for me that man (or woman) is almost always a Democrat.

What qualifies as a bleeding heart liberal?

We will miss you. Many blessings to your family.

Where

On this thread my opinion,
1. Osama should die or be brought to justice (I have my preference).
2. Guns are a effective means of self defense.
3. only a moron would allow children access to firearms and should said children kill/hurt themselves or others, the moron should go to jail.
4. as long as police response time slower than criminals crimes (not sure how they could be) a armed law abiding citizen (me or my wife '100% trust') is desirable.
5. safes, trigger locks and the like have been designed logically and safely to be able to be disengaged fast enough to provide defense in a defense situation.
6. melee weapons need constant practice to be as effective as firearms.
7. all defense techniques need practice to be effective.

A portion of the Advanced Dungeons and Dragons 1st Edition preface PHB

"What is here is here, presented is as logical a sequence as possible, clearly, understandably, and with as few ambiguities as could be managed. Many readers will want more matierial. There is a wealth of commercial and fan matieral available for fulfilling such needs. Simiarly, even the most important matierial herein can be altered and bent to suit the needs of individual campaigns. Where possible, true 'guidelines' have been laid down to provide the barest of frameworks for those areas of the campaign which should be the most unusual and unique. Read the work through and assess for yourself what Advanced D&D really is..."

AD&D 2nd edition: "Why 2nd edition? The AD&D game has evolved over the course of 16 years. During that time, the game grew tremendously through play. Changes and improvements(and a few mistakes) were made. These were published in subsequent volumes. By 1988, the game consisted of 12 hardcover rulebooks. It was physically and intellectually unwieldy (but still a lot of fun). The time was right to reorganize and recombine all that information into a manageable package. That package is the second edition.

3rd- see above
wotc 2007 uh oh to many books, rules etc.. do over.
IMHO

Given what you know so far, are you planning to:

A) Convert! I am ready for a new D&D.

B) 3.5 or Bust! I'm sticking with the man what brought me.

C) We'll see. Need more information.

D) Other.

Please pick one. Feel free to elaborate, but please stick to one reply each for this thread. I'm not interested in fights or refutations of incorrect points or baiting or whatever.

I want to know how you, at this moment in time, feel about the idea of converting to a new edition of the game.

I expect that people's answers will change over time. This is not the last time I will ask this question, so we'll have a chance to gauge the issue as we go along.

So, given what you know so far, you plan to: _______________.

B- Other I've played 2nd Edition forever and use 3.5 for family games

No problems in either system that can't be resolved with good role-players and dungeon masters.
