Male Human (Ulfen) Barbarian / 1

"Hrmph. Let's hurry and get out of this cramped staircase. Be on the lookout for more of.. those."

Roman continues to make his way down the stairs as quickly as possible.

Male Human (Ulfen) Barbarian / 1

Unable to make it to the fight, Roman continues to protect the front of the group.

Readied Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Damage: 1d12 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17

Male Human (Ulfen) Barbarian / 1

Confused by the sudden darkness, Roman readies to attack any enemies coming for him.

Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Damage: 1d12 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13

Male Human (Ulfen) Barbarian / 1

Roman peers into the shaft. "Best we spread out while we make our way down."

He takes the lead, axe in hand and starts making his way down. He keeps his eyes and ears alert for anything below.

Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11

Nope! Perfectly safe :)

Male Human (Ulfen) Barbarian / 1

"Hmmph. Eat you? No. I don't like food that talks back."

He watches as the Ioun Torch floats around his head.

"Less useless, maybe."

Male Human (Ulfen) Barbarian / 1

Roman draws his axe and waits for someone with light before entering.

"I'll need someone else to provide light."

Aeryn Thane wrote:

"There can be a lot of use in spying and hiding," Aeryn says, stepping from the shadows where he's been listening in, "In fact, I'd say some of the most dangerous people I've ever met specialized in just that sort of thing."

Aeryn gives a friendly nod in the direction of the pseudodragon.

Do beware, little friend, Aeryn projects silently. Some people's thoughts are more dangerous than others.

Aeryn shifts his bow on his back, and starts in the direction of the crypts.

"Please, after you," he says to Krixus with a casual smile.

Great, more cowards..

Male Human (Ulfen) Barbarian / 1

So the less that come back, the more for the rest of us..

"Alright, let's get going then. The quicker we finish this, the quicker I get paid."

Roman heads off to the crypts once the others are ready. He doesn't hide his constant eying of the lizard.

Male Human (Ulfen) Barbarian / 1

Roman grumbles, "He looks more like dinner than a pet."

Male Human (Ulfen) Barbarian / 1

Hope all is okay! Family > Gaming :)

Male Human (Ulfen) Barbarian / 1

Roman huffs, showing his displeasure.

"Agreed. I only work with those I can see and that stay out of my head."

I wonder what lizard tastes like.

Male Human (Ulfen) Barbarian / 1

What the.. "hell is that?!"

Roman puts a hand on his axe blade while he scans the area for the unknown voice.

Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20

"Show yourself, before I come find and kill you."

Nobody talks in my head..

Male Human (Ulfen) Barbarian / 1

Roman eyes Valanthe from top to bottom.

Nope, not as pretty.

He speaks up once she's done talking, "Is that gold per person, or the entire group?"

If that's for the group, then I may be a little less inclined to watch where I swing my axe..

Male Human (Ulfen) Barbarian / 1

It looks like we're going to be heavy on the beatstick/arcane side. I'm planning on multi-classing into ranger, which will let me use a cure wand, and we have a bard, but they use arcane cures. Is that going to be it for healing?

Also, curious as to everyone's time-zones and planned posts per day. I'm in CDT and will be posting as often as needed (generally anywhere from 0-5+ posts depending on others).

Male Human (Ulfen) Barbarian / 1

Roman waits for the church contact while leaning on one of the pillars inside the front foyer. He peers over his shoulder as the sound of metal enters behind him.

Ah, well at least that one looks like he could put up a fight. I do hate having to carry dead bodies back.

He stares just a little too long, the candlelight bouncing off his heavy armor and large axe.

I believe I may have seen him around before as well.

Male Human (Ulfen) Barbarian / 1

Hi! :)

Already posted over in the game thread (can you open up the discussion page?). Having to switch 2 of Roman's stats in preparation for his multi-class (an 8 wisdom doesn't boad well for a Ranger).

Male Human (Ulfen) Barbarian / 1

Roman arrives on the steps of Godsmouth Ossuary in the early morning. He glances around before heading inside.

I wonder if there's going to be much competition on this one.

Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11

Roman would be staying in Ankar-Te until he can afford a place in Highside Stacks. He does have a charge to watch over that is used to the higher class style of life after all.

Not sure Roman would respond to an undead. He's never run into one before, but is probably used to people referring to them as evil and dangerous.

Seeing as how we're almost all looking for work, I'd suggest that we just happen to be living in the same district as each other and run into each other while looking for work. We respect each other as friendly competition, unlike those other "worthless" thugs looking for work.

I would also see Roman easily running into Krixis when looking for work. Alternatively, he could have been hired by anyone else for any tasks not involving murder.

Woot! Any chance we could get a tavern thread up so we could mingle before we start, or is that going to happen at the start time?

Let me know if I am mistaken.

Sorry, I'll need to update my armor. It should be scalemail, not chainmail (all skills/ac are set up for scale). Correcting Will save (I keep thinking Iron Will is a +3, not +2 :()

I added some fluff, may add some more. Still reading up on Kaer Maga. :)

@Roman Dex
You may want to recheck your sheet. I see a number of things that are off.

Hmm, which specifically? Everything looks fine to me.

Changed some stats around selected an ethnicity.

Updated Roman's background.

Background:

Born a bastard in the village of Toss, Roman has always known the feeling of being alone and unwanted. He was taken in by his father after his mothers death at the age of 10. His new mother acted like she cared for the boy while in front of his father and siblings, but when they were alone she would beat him and call him names. This went on for 5 years, none in the house any the wiser. During one of his beatings, something snapped inside of Roman. He felt anger and hatred start to build and he lashed out to his new mother. He doesn't remember much of what came after that. All he does remember, is standing over her. Blood dripping from his hands and a feeling of satisfaction coursing through his body. Scared, he fled Toss as quickly as possible.

Roman spent the next 10 years traveling. The desire to settle down great, but the fear that someone would find out his dark past even greater. Being naturally strong, he was able to make coin in the numerous towns and villages he passed through as either a bodyguard, day laborer, or anything else that could use the added strength. It's in one of these towns that he met her. A woman so beautiful, he decided to stop traveling just to stay near her. There was a catch though, she was betrothed to another man. A wealthy man that had mixed up with the wrong crowed. Fearing for his soon-to-be wife's life, that wealthy man started looking for someone to protect her. It didn't take long for Roman to hear of the request, and to insert himself as her bodyguard. He spent the next few months as Delane's personal bodyguard. It was an easy job. He never had to raise his fists to anyone, that is, until he overheard Delane's fiance as he devised a plan for her death, soon after their marriage. For the second time in his life, he lost himself in the hatred and rage that built up inside of him. And, for the second time in his life, he stood over a body, blood dripping from his hands. Fear raced through him, as he didn't want to lose Delane. So he did what he had to do. He lied. It sounded plausible after all. He was hired to protect Delane for this specific reason. The group her fiance was involved with, finally came to collect, and killed him. It was only logical that they would come for Delane next. So they ran. They took what they could and left the city as fast as possible. For the second time in his life, Roman was on the run.

They spent 5 years running together. Delane was grateful that she had such a dedicated bodyguard. One who's employer, now dead, still carried out his task. Whether she knew Roman's true feelings, or was naive to them, it didn't matter to him. He was with her, and that's all that mattered. Roman and Delane have decided to stay in one place for a while, and what better place to hide away than in the city of Kaer Maga. Here, they can disappear into the shadows, and Roman can hope to rid himself of his past... for now.

I give you.. Roman Dex (decided to switch the names around)
