Seeing as how I can barely concentrate on the 2 games I am running, I am going to drop out of this game. I have already dropped out of every game I was playing in as a matter of fact.

Its not fair to you guys nor the DM for an inactive player to be hanging around, and I will not be active

Have fun!

And if you are curious, I am losing my job come August 5th, have a crappy roomate, and have to find a new car ALL AT THE SAME TIME.

So yea, s*#*ty Real LIfe crap >.>

I remember him saying that he was going to vanish at some point.

Maybe this is that point?

Roger seems to be either ignoring, or not hearing, the various shouts as he continues to battle the swarm of rats, trying to create an opening for his companions to leave.

Fort Save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21 vs DC 18

He seems to go green slightly but catches himself, and then unleashes another frenzy of attacks before stepping back slightly again.

Flurry of Blows. Attack 1: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16, Damage 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5. Attack 2: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16, Damage 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7. 5ft Step directly back towards the group (I cannot find an updated map)

DC 18 Fort Save - 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18. DC 12 Fort Save - 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9. Made the first, failed the second.

Roger shouts "I can hold them off now get outta here!" Roger tries a kick and punch combination attack.

Flurry of Blows. Attack 1: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11 Damage 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3. Attack 2: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15 Damage 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Roger nods as best he can, and lets loose with 2 quick punches while taking a smell step back.

Flurry of Blows. Attack 1 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3, Damage 1 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5. Attack 2 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13, Damage 2 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8. Then a 5ft Step backwards to wherever is closest to the spill

I was wondering that myself... I have been letting some more time pass to see if people would post, but it hasn't worked very well. Currently, Kale and Connor are on the missing list.

Eh I have been waiting for others.

Moving to G5, unleashing a punch at the swarm
Attack Roll vs Swarm - 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24, Damage 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Crit Confirmation Roll vs Swarm - 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12, Damage 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

Roger dashes forward quickly, manuevering around the edge to get near one of the piles of rats. He lashes out with his fist, aiming to take out a few of the rats at least, and buy the group time to get away. "Run guys! Get out of here!"

Shaking his head, Roger sighs. "This is a mess. So, where to captain? On what grand adventures will we be lead on now?" A hint of sarcasm is evident in Roger's voice, and he makes no attempts to hide it.

Roger visibly looks better after the healing, and stands straighter. "Thank you Daemon." Looking around, Roger frowns. "Why would anyone ever come down here?!"

HP 10/10 thanks to Daemon

Fort Save - 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22, Current HP 3/10

Roger stands, a bit shaky. "Blasted sewer goo!" He then turns green briefly, but manages to hold it back this time. Roger then realizes that his ankle is swollen pretty badly, and he limps a bit but manages to keep up the pace to get back to the ground.

Roger stops suddenly from going down the stairs, turns around, and heads back over to the hole. "I completely forgot that I am a damn fine hand at jumping! Hold on, be down in a second!" With that, Roger leaps down the hole, doing his best to use his skills to cushion his fall and NOT land on the halfing!

Acrobatics Check to Fall - 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13 vs DC 15 and I fail by 2.

Using Acrobatics to Fall:

Falling: When you deliberately fall any distance, even as a result of a missed jump, a DC 15 Acrobatics skill check allows you to ignore the first 10 feet fallen, although you still end up prone if you take damage from a fall. See the falling rules for further details.

IE If this is only a 10 foot deep pit and I beat the DC I take no damage and land on my feet.

Roger follows the captain.

Round 2

Roger stares at the giant rat, and grimly punches and kicks it in quick succession.

Flurry of Blows
Attack 1: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20 / Damage 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Attack 2: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15 / Damage 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Heading out to Vacation, I will return Sunday! See ya guys then

Round 1 Action:

Seeing the rat grab onto the halfing, Roger laughs, walks up, and attempts to kick the rat off the halflings face.

1d1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22, Damage Roll 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

So we have to wait to post so it appears in initiative order?

Unless you rule it otherwise, Flanking does grant sneak attack. Its under the rules for sneak attack.

From the SRD

The rogue's attack deals extra damage anytime her target would be denied a Dexterity bonus to AC (whether the target actually has a Dexterity bonus or not), or when the rogue flanks her target.

Perception Check 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21

"I see the blood as well Daemon... I wonder what it could mean." Roger sadly still looks a bit green around the gills as it were from the stench of the sewers.

Fort Save 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

Roger gags, and vomits up into the water. Muttering apologies, he straightens and leans up against one of the walls.

Getting a good sniff of the sewer smell, Roger wrinkles his nose. "Reminds me of the hog pen after a rain during the summer, and not in a good way..."

DM Darkthorne wrote:

@Schmitty: You certainly didn't have to give up everything! It would be fine if you wanted to keep the rest of your things, I was referring mainly to the sunrods and acid. If you want to have something like a bunch of daggers, simply work it into your background: Maybe you had a knife-throwing side act in the circus?

@Roger: Thanks for the heads up. Have fun, and Happy Birthday in advance!

@Avind: Sorry to disappoint, but you are not in Golarion...

Thanks. First time me and the wife actually have gone out of town on a vacation, so its rather exciting, even if its only for 3 days. I will be back on the 15th in the afternoon anyway.

"I am ready whenever you folks are." says Roger as he follows Daemon.

Hey Guys, a warning for ya!

May 13th is my birthday, my wifes birthday (yes, same day) and our Wedding Anniversary. We are going to be going out of town for that weekend (13th, 14th, 15th) and I will be AWOL until the evening of the 15th. So during that time I will not be posting.

You guys can just NPC me for that weekend. I wanted to give ya like a weeks notice so you know whats going on :)

Thanks in advance :D

DM Darkthorne wrote:
@Roger: Thank you, that just makes more sense to me. The brass knuckles seem like something pretty easy to get/make, so if you like you may work those into your story. The question is what kind of fighting you will be specializing in: Will you fight with a quarterstaff or with a club or mostly hand-to-hand, etc.?

Hand to Hand. I am not a fan of weapon based monks personally.

DM Darkthorne wrote:

I am fine with you guys being creative and having lots of cool stuff, but please try to keep it reasonable and fitting to your character. If you do decide to get thing like flasks of acid and cold iron flails and barbed vests, please explain how you came to have them in your background. These sound more like the kinds of things you might find exploring dungeons rather than in the circus or the church or on a small farm...

These kinds of things are a little strange, but if you give a good story or explanation for them, I will consider allowing them. I would also like to stick to the core rulebook. Any special items I see fit to introduce will come in due time! Just try to stick to your character and his background. Have no fear, you will be adventuring soon, and I have a hunch that you will all find some nice things laying around...

@Schmitty: You start speaking common and Halfling. You have a +2 Int. modifier, so you get to pick two other languages you can speak.

Other then buying em in a store during his travels I cant think of a reason I would have any of the stuff, so I will just take it off, no biggie.

Reaching into the chest, Rogers quickly digs around trying to find something. Spying his book, he snatches it out and sets it aside, and then begins to find the rest of his gear. He quickly pulls out his two Cestus, and pulls them onto his hands, the spikes bright and clean. He grabs his backpack, bedroll, and bags, and his five days worth of rations. He also grabs his special vest.

Here is what he bought with his 35gp: 2 Cestus (10gp), Backpack (5gp), 2 Waterproof Bags (1gp), Barbed Vest (10gp), 5 Rations (5gp), Bedroll (1sp). I also added Master Longs Book. Total GP Spent - 31gp 1sp, leaving 3gp 9sp

The Cestus are monk weapons that deal no extra damage, but allow me to deal either Bludgeoning or Piercing damage with each strike. The Barbed Vest does 1 point of damage to any creature striking me with an unarmed or natural attack, and 1 point of damage a round if I am swallowed. It does not add armor or anything.

Roger quietly follows Daemon, taking his oath of protection seriously. "I go where Daemon goes."

Roger stands up and bows. "Well, at least you are proving Lord Aethys to be a man of reason. Honestly, I wish I could assure you that I would never be back in front of you under these charges, but given that I have no idea how I ended up here in the first place I can't guarantee that I won't. However, I would do my utmost to keep myself away from such issues. That's the best I can offer myself." Roger sits back down and waits.

And now we play the waiting game to see what the King and his Advisor do.

Roger nodes at the halfings statement. "If the royal personage is a big enough person to admit that he was wrong and ask polietly I might be inclined to assit." Smirking, Roger then adds "But I doubt that he would ever admit to being wrong or being given false information."

You better not send that storm down here to Orlando!

I doubt the diplomacy will do anything but lets see, with a roll THAT good it should hopefully do SOMETHING.

Also, I think those of us who signed the contract are stuck for it regardless of the outcome.

After Arvind speaks, Roger leans over to him and whispers. "I would rather willingly choose a path then be forced into one. Besides, if he is the culprit we can find out once we get out of here."

Afterwards, Roger shrugs at the king and Xenor's speech. "Yes yes we are cowards. You got all the evidence you need blah blah blah. As we tried to tell you all yesterday we had not conspired, we had not done ANY of things you accused us of, but since there is no way to prove that, and you had your own informant who said otherwise, it was completely impossible for the situation to end in any other way but us going down into your sewers. So, since we have all chosen the noose I guess that means you will have to find another band of stooges to force into servitude. And yes, it is forcing, because when you make innocent men do something against their will because of a crime THEY DID NOT COMMIT, that is forcing." Roger stands and glares at the two men, the king and his crony.

"If you had needed help in the sewers so badly, why not put out a call to arms asking for adventurers! I personally might have answered such a call. Instead you resort to coercion, lying, and framing innocent men. Since you seem so sure of our guilt however, then why does it bother you for us to hang hm? If we were conspiring to kill you then shouldn't you remove the threat? Or did you offer us this 'redemption' knowing that you were in no danger? Because honestly, offering a bunch of heavily skilled people who YOU THOUGHT WOULD KILL YOU a way out to a pardon is insane. You ask where my manners went? Out the window when I was told 'Die by the noose or die in a stinking sewers.' Morons." Roger then sits back down and glares angrily at the two men on the dais. Then after a brief pause, he looks up at the ceiling and speaks one final time.

"In fact, dear King, not hanging us would make you look weak in the eyes of your subjects. They themselves are calling for our deaths, so you should give it them. They don't want us pardoned...and neither did your daughter."

I live in Florida so I know what those are like.

Keep safe man!

Looking down at his own tattoo, Roger nods. "Noose as well. I would rather die innocent then be sent to my death by the likes of you and your corrupt law system. I will not be forced into doing things for you all."

The tattoo's paint is what wakes Roger up, and not pleasantly. He stirs grumbling and stares at the tattoo. "Great." he mutters. Sitting up as the guards bring food, he eats the gruul as quickly as he can stomach, marvelling at how something can be so tasteless. He then takes a swig of water, and waits to see what new horrors and problems this day will bring. Glancing over at Voem, he tries to get his attention.

"You know, you are a really quiet person...did Daemon ever take a look at your knee?"

My intent with that video was to simply voice my opinion whether or not you should rejoin the campaign. Glad to see you back.

Haha thanks :P I was just messin with ya dude :)

As Conner walks away but before he makes it to his corner Roger nods and says loudly "Apology accepted and I am sorry I acted rashly. I have a bit of a temper like so many red headed humans seem to have." Seeing Conner lay down, Roger grins to no one in particular. "I think we should all get some sleep and finish this signing mess in the morning." Roger walks over to the bench where first sat, and leans back against the wall, closing his eyes and breathing regularly.

Roger nods, and holds out his hand to Daemon.

Roger walks over to Daemon, the dried blood on his throat stark red against his white skin. "I am sorry if you feel we are forcing you. However, I for one am not please about how the justice system in this land has obviously been corrupted, and would prefer to not take part in it. I make this pledge: You come with us and I will do everything in my power to help you clear your name, along with ours, and to protect you as best I can." Roger bows slightly, and then smiles at Daemon. "Besides, as much as a loathe to do it, we can always break the contract. Then again that might put us in even MORE trouble..."

Roger quietly stands up and takes the quill. "We have had our differences it seems but I will stand with you in this. At least I might be able to get vengence on that man someday..." With that Roger signs the contract, and then sits back down on the ground and stares off into space, lost in thought.

Roger's eyes widen suddenly as he remembers exactly what happened to him. "That man...in the cloak..." He brings his hand up to his neck and pulls it away with blood on it. "Gods above he was strong. I need more training..."

Sitting up from his position on the floor Roger looks around. "I am not sure I want to sign anything and work for any brotherhood. But at the same time I don't think we can deal with someone that strong. I will go along with the majority in this case..." Roger holds his hand to his neck to help the wound clot.

(Removed 4 HP, leaving me with 6 remaining)

Aye aye Capt.

Roger finally opens his eyes, groggy and unsure of what has happened. "Oh my head...what in gods name happened?! Glancing around the room, he notices the discussions taking place and sits bolt upright. "Ok! What on earth is going on? I think I was drugged or something.."

Roger, if you want to stay than please feel free, that would be great. However, if you choose to stay please don't make a habit of bailing. It's not good for the game or story continuity.

Its not something I intend to make a habit of. As I said I was having a bad day IRL and basically acted like an idiot. Which I am prone to do (Open Mouth Insert Foot GOGO)

I am gonna wait for everyone to chime in first though before I do anything though. Just to be fair.

Humm, checked this after I submitted my heal check. Ill just leave it up and discuss with you guys as I am checking roger over.

Wow I just noticed all the IC stuff you guys are doing for Roger! That is interesting.

If you guys want me to stay that bad let me know. I dont mind staying out but its up to all of you. I was not in a great mood yesterday when I left (my job is the pits) so I probably acted hastily, but at the same time I want to make sure that In Character Conner would be willing to work things out with Roger.

And of course if Darkthrone can work it out when he gets back.

*zips back off*

@Daemon Thanks for letting me know. It's good to hear it's not my bad, and if I start beefing with anyone in-game, you can assume it's not personal.

Nah you didnt run me off Conner :) But my character WOULD have come to blows with you had things kept up, which would cause a bit of conflict that would not be needed, so I am bowing out. No harm, no foul :)
