Roger is a calm and logical and people often take him for an engineer, he is however very much an outside-the-box thinker who sees violence, explosions, odd engineering and vehicles as the solution.
Medium height and rather skinny, black hair and brown eyes. Roger is a bit of a gear head and a nerd, he's not as tough as most fellow soldiers, although still strong. He does make up his shortcomings with speed and agility.
He was offered a scholarship for mechanical engineering at Cambridge, but instead joined the army as it would be a lot more likely to let him “blow shit up” and “travel at supersonic speed”. He served with distinction for many years in the Middle East. During his time there he helped out and befriended Lema, a teenage girl whose family had been killed, and taught her some basic engineering so she could help him out. After becoming good friends Lema proved herself a valuable and devoted friend through her cunning and fearlessness. Through a clever scheme involving a shelf-company, a working visa and a marriage to a gay friend Roger got her an English citizenship. After she joined the army she soon found herself working for Roger again.
During a mission that should have been a failure Roger and Lema managed to turn the plane Roger was flying into supersonic semi-guided bomb before parachuting out of there. Soon after he was recruited to Project: Gatekeeper.
