"I think this is as clear a sign as any," Rodric says, gesturing at the door. "I'm ready to move forward."

Rodric steps closer and takes another swing...
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Damage: 1d10 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10

Rodric moves closer to the eidolon, then takes an swings his glaive.
Attack w/Glaive: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
Damage: 1d10 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Rodric moves to the intersection, sees the foe and readies the group with a powerful Prayer. "Fair Shelyn, show us the beauty, the grace of your dance. Share this with my allies while hindering my foes."

Prayer. +1 to hit for us, -1 for the baddie

Can I have cast Shield of Faith before opening the door? At this point Rodric expects danger at every turn.

"More battle. Let's get this over with."

Rodric shrugs. "Either way, I will do my best to bolster everyone with Shelyn's blessings. Hopefully, further battle is unnecessary."

Rodric steps back. With a prayer to Shelyn, he conjures a single C# note, several octaves up, to blast directly behind the creature!
Sound Burst (DC 17 Fort halves sonic damage, negates Stunned for 1 round): 1d8 ⇒ 4

Rodric steps forward, getting within reach for his glaive. He murmurs a prayer to Shelyn, who enhances his voice with the power of Suggestion. He then says, "Creature! Your ability to do battle with us would be improved if you tried to trip or disarm us first!"
Suggestion. DC 18 Will save

Rodric swings his magical glaive, hoping to do something against the tentacled beast.

Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
Damage: 1d10 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11

Rodric withdraws to another position, his glaive ready.

Rodric suggests the potion of magic weapon, assuming that someone in the group (besides him) doesn't have a magic weapon.

"If they came from the air, I suspect a potion that grants the ability to fly would be of use."

Rodric holds his glaive at the ready, waiting for someone to take the lead.

Fully expecting the statue to talk, Rodric says, "Hello again, Venture-Captain."

"A door. Finally, something a bit more familiar!" Rodric exclaims. He reaches over to Kassanamir, placing a reassuring hand that instills the tiefling with a Bit of Luck. "Care to check whether the door is safe?"

Kassanamir can roll twice and take the better result on a d20 for the next few seconds.

Following on Kassanamir's question, Rodric adds, "Do we need to disbelieve this too? Or are you finally something that is at least somewhat real?"

He then pauses, knowing that they may have bombarded the poor eye with questions.

Will save: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23

Rodric snaps out of it immediately.

To the group, Rodric says, "Come quick! I found the Venture-Captain!"

Back to the mirror he says, "Can you explain what is going on?"

Rodric takes a moment to examine the mirror.
Perception, take 10 for 24

Will save: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24

"This place isn't real! We're in the Archives!"

Rodric grasps his holy symbol and begins calling out to his goddess. "Shelyn, help me in my time of need. Send me an ally who can find this dark creature..."

"It is too quiet. I... I fear something has gone wrong." Rodric holds his glaive, uncertain.

"I am willing and able to support this. Though I do wonder how long you'd like us to explore. Will you be able to communicate your satisfaction?"

Rodric claps at the performance. "Shelyn smiles upon us. Well done! Shall we return then?"

Rodric places a hand on Kassanamir's shoulder, instilling the rogue with a Bit of Luck. He then steps aside, making space while holding his glaive threateningly.

Lastly, he shares what he knows about the Div. His studies had focused on their special attacks, and their defenses.

Rodric steps forward, taking the mask from Jean-Paul. "Please, let me. Shelyn protects me. Stand back please."

He then moves away from the sorcerer, putting his back to Kassanamir. "Ready?"

Once the group indicates that they are, he says the magic words.

Just before the scroll is read, Rodric says a brief blessing to Shelyn. "Please grant us your will to perform art with this coming battle."

He casts Bless

"I like neither the task nor the gamble. Live is precious, and this feels like waste. Shelyn would never forgive me for this sacrifice. What art could be made in twenty years, that the world would never see? No, there must be another way."

An honest man, Rodric says, "We did not. I hope that allows you to see that the Pathfinder Society is, perhaps, over-qualified for simple negotiations. And that dealing fairly with us is wise for every businessman."

The cleric of Shelyn gestures for the coins to be returned. Then hopeful, he adds, " Unless you would like to make a donation to the church? Shelyn welcomes generous patrons of the arts."

To be clear, he is suggesting that Murqual donate to the church, not the party

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15

"Please, I think renegotiating is unnecessary. Master Murqual is an honest dealer worthy of a continued business relationship. If you look over the items you will see that they are of excellent quality."

Rodric sweeps his cloak back, the flower of Shelyn flashing on the garment as he sits on the sofa. The breastplate he wears hardly makes a sound, testament to the quality of the armor. The cleric rests his glaive against the back of the sofa, and speaks. "Good day, Master Murqual. I am Rodric Dumont, Devotee of the Eternal Rose and Pathfinder. I and my colleagues are here on behalf of Venture-Captain Yuul for the acquisition of the Monadistic Archive. We are prepared to do business and, with your permission, would like to see a rapid conclusion to this engagement. Would that be satisfactory?"

Rodric smiles beatifically. "Of course, Jean-Paul. Join us."

He then thinks about what he knows...
