Universalist School

Knowledge is power. Rivain Elerest clung to this principle his whole life. Weak of body but never sickly Rivain spent his time pouring over any books or scrolls he could get his hands on. Early on his family noticed he had a gift for the magical arts and allowed him to study at the Academy where he got his first taste of how much there truly was that he did not know. After successfully gaining some competence in the magical arts Rivain realized that he could not satiate his hunger for knowledge which prompted him to take up the profession of Librarian where he has endless time to pour over many ancient tomes and sources of knowledge. Lately, however, the growing urge to go out and learn and experience new things firsthand has nearly overwhelmed him and he has resolved to find adventure wherever he may....

Rivain is exceptionally knowledgeable about most any subject and is more than happy to discuss any subject at length as long as he feels he is speaking to a worthy audience. He tries his best to supress his natural curiosity as it has gotten him into trouble a few times in the past, but generally will inquire and conjecture about most things around him happily. The only time Rivain appears somber is if he is asked about the ring he wears on his left hand, an item that is bonded to him with magic and memory.
