John, is there any chance I could talk you into annotating the effects of Retsiji's feats and traits into his character sheet? It would help this absent-minded DM greatly. Speaking of...I'll really try my best to remember to give Retsiji an action during surprise rounds (re: Forewarned ability), but allow me to apologize now in advance for the times I may forget. :)
Character sheet review is under way! So far, Adam, Bea, and Havrin all look good to go. (Max, I will mention that there is still a blurb on Havrin's sheet about his stats coming from a 20 point buy. An artifact from a previous build, I'm sure). Moving on...

Players, I wanted to let you know that my plan is to just eyeball your character sheets, and if they look reasonably correct, I'll give my approval. I used to be the DM who wanted to pore over every sheet with a fine-toothed comb, but I'm trying to loosen up and be a little less of a control freak. :) That said, if anyone feels that their sheet could benefit from an extra set of eyes giving a close lookover, I (or even one of your fellow players, I'm sure) would be happy to dig into it more thoroughly. Ultimately, I'm just trying to get into the gaming action as soon as we can. That's a good thing, right?
One other question: Can he have a few scrolls already written? Yes, but you must pay for them out of starting funds at the going rate (one-half base price for the raw material).
Speaking of traits, I'm thinking the best fit for my character history is Brigand with the fluff rewritten slightly--he's got the bonuses because of his training in interactions with other River Kingdoms "nobility" (for lack of a better word), and he's got a few gp left over from selling the assassin's dagger. Sound OK to you? Yep! Sounds great to me John.
My plan is to start the adventure in media res as it were, with the party already assembled and chartered to explore the northernmost portion of the Stolen Lands. To begin, the group has set out from the city of Restov in southern Brevoy, and is on the way into the wilds of the Greenbelt. Here is the charter that each PC has been given: Be it so known that the bearer of this charter has been charged by the Swordlords of Restov, acting upon the greater good and authority vested within them by the office of the Regent of the Dragonscale Throne, has granted the right of exploration and travel within the wilderness region known as the Greenbelt. Exploration should be limited to an area no further than thirty-six miles east and west and sixty miles south of Oleg’s Trading Post. The carrier of this charter should also strive against banditry and other unlawful behavior to be encountered. The punishment for unrepentant banditry remains, as always, execution by sword or rope. So witnessed on this 24th day of Calistril, under watchful eye of the Lordship of Restov and authority granted by Lord Noleski Surtova, current Regent of the Dragonscale Throne. The group has been advised that Oleg's Trading Post would be a good place to stop off, with the promise of a hot meal, soft bed and fairly priced provisions before heading further south to explore. With that said, it would certainly be fine if Adam and Bea had arrived in Restov as a package deal. Preexisting connections between PCs are always a good thing.

Well, everyone, I know I said I would take until Monday to post my decision, but I hope no one will mind if I jump the gun a bit. My mind is made up, so why wait? No problem, Shuriken. To be honest, I'm not sure I'm exactly the sort of DM you'd want anyway. I'm much more traditional in what I want from my D&D/PF role-playing experience. Still, I wish you the best in finding a game that you will enjoy.

While that's a good character, the DM is only allowing Pathfinder core, APG, or official Pathfinder resources for rules. :) Maybe you can play as a multiclass fighter/wizard or fighter/sorcerer. I think there's even rules from Unearthed Arcana (which you can ask the DM if you can use) which allow you to start as a 1st level multiclasser. Arazni has it right, I apologize for the ambiguity of my wording. I guess I should have stated explicitly 'official' supplements (meaning Paizo-published, i.e. PF Companions and the like). I'm not interested in allowing 3rd party content for this game. So, Animaezing, I'd put forth your Summoner instead.
Is this only going to follow the one module and end or will the game continue past it? Certainly, I'd love for this to be a long-running campaign, and one which is able to extend well past just the first adventure module. Obviously, this would be a tremendous feat, and I can't guarantee what will happen in the future. But, the short answer is, I'll keep running this campaign past 'Stolen Land' for as long as we have the interest to keep it moving forward.
Arazni, I don't think I've seen a coat of arms for House Surtova anywhere, but I'll keep my eyes open. And, yes, two traits is correct...one campaign trait, one other.

Greetings, one and all! I am now receiving applications to play in a Kingmaker campaign, here on the pbp boards. This game will not be first come first served, but rather I will select 5 or 6 players based on the quality and detail of a written character concept. Character interaction and role-playing is a very important part of a successful pbp game, in my opinion. Therefore, an interesting personality and detailed physical description will go a long way toward helping you get into the game. Daily availablity for posting is preferred, but it is not a firm requirement. Some ground rules: Core rules, APG, PF supplements are all available resources for use. Characters start at 1st level, to be created using a 15 or 20 point buy (depending on the number of PCs selected). No evil aligned characters. Please do read the free Kingmaker player's guide to help inform your decision making, as this will help you develop a concept which is suitable for the campaign. Also, as this is a very open ('sandboxy') campaign, players will need to be self-starters to keep things moving along. I'll leave this thread open until Friday for applications, and then I'll take my time over the weekend to choose my players.
