take a powerful blow: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 1) = 3
Hut's foot lands on the loose rubble, sending it listing to the side, thankfully making the ogre's mace rake down its side instead of caving it in. Only one of the small windows loses a shutter, but it could have been MUCH worse.
A still panic rushes through Ripple. The thought of losing her one and only companion sends ice through her. Her body shakes lightly, making her lose her firm control. Her form shifts, until the pretty blonde is gone, replaced by the lithe figure in a flowing robe and a plain wooden mask.
The new figure, Ripple in her natural form, stares at the closest enemy, the viashino, hesitant on the edge. In a tone so flat it could cut the very air around them, she tells it to "Run"
provoke: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (6, 4) + 2 = 12
The implication is simple.
'Run or I would bathe the heavens with your blood for hurting the one I care about'

As the one named Meliska clarifies the allegiances, Ripple nods, then clucks, before jumping into the air. Quite high in the air. In response, her house, that has been bobbing behind her, digs its clawed talons into the walkway and darts forward, catching the Ripple-In-The-Air, on its tiny little porch. Then the two speeds forward.
Straight at the ogre with the particular stench.
kirby craft let sher directly engage a threat with superior
directly engage a threat: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (2, 5) + 2 = 9 surprise opponents
A charging house is not the norm, and especially not one that grows bigger and bigger with every step. A split second before impact, the figure on the porch ducks as the entire structure rams into the barrel-shaped humanoid, easily missing becoming squished. They seem very used to this maneuver like a normal person would be raising a foot to avoid stepping in Poo.

"Are they enemies?" Ripple asks without inflection. It is easier for her to tell if they are killing people... though the act of killing is in fact too late to help, so maybe if they are only threatening people... yes that would be a good test.
But there are no people to threaten. Her head moves to look at her companions. Maybe they count as 'people'? Are the various humanoids and animaloids threatening them...
Or was that an exclamation of greeting?
If Ripple was the type of being to express frustration this would be the perfect time.

Ripple pauses "The norm of sharing is to recipicate" she relates to herself out loud, while mentally adding the custom as something to remember.
Her mind gathers all the outcomes for revealing details about herself. Including the potential of being attacked, the fact the woman has shown knowledge of her already, and also that this group needs all the help they can get at the moment.
"I am not normal.[//b]" she answers, then decides that the description is not specific enough in the present company. "[b]I am not human. I tried to be. I believed I had achieved it. But when the humans found out I was not like them, they chose violence over acceptance." There is a longer pause, once where there is the possibility of falling into, but she finishes in a few moments. "I Travelled then, without knowledge of how and Hut came with me." The house following them bounces up and down twice, meaning something, but Ripple doesn't explain what.

Ripple looks at Sorin when he talks, fully absorbed, as if studying. Despite her preoccupation, she navigates rubble without a single stumble. Her head tilts so her eyes can study the genuine friendly grin, and then after a moment of pause, it is returned.
"Eclipse, so you are the Moon in that naming? Obscuring the light within you from taking hold? Or is it obscuring others from seeing anything other than the darkness?" The question seems to hold curiosity, even if the tone does not.

Ripple slows down to walk beside the one called Sorin "My observations of custom suggest I should show remorse and request acceptance of an apology for my deception." The still human looking woman pauses her speech "An alternative would be to express anxiety over the unknown reaction this land would do to an outsider." Another pause "But truth is better to foster trust." finally she looks at the one called Sorin "I lied out of habit. My name is Ripple, chosen from the sound of a pebble in a still lake."
"You gifted me with your truth. Without needing to be unmasked..." she paused again, thinking "That is nice."
The best of them: When you comfort or support someone by telling them how they exemplify the best parts of Earth, roll + Freak instead of + Mundane.
Ignoring the Earth part.
comfort: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (5, 5) + 2 = 12
On a hit, they hear you: they mark potential, clear a condition, or shift Labels if they open up to you. On a 10+, you can also add a Team to the pool or clear a condition yourself. -- Sorin can do one of those three options if he opens up and Ripple will add one to the team pool.
"Are you... okay?" a slight hesitation includes a comforting smile.

The blonde woman stops her 'normal' cover. She doesn't ship back to being her normal shape, but stops wasting time remembering to do the hundred things humans do every second, from blinking to breathing. Her head turns to the source of their trouble "The tower is a good place to start." she mimics again.
With that she starts moving toward the tower with her house following.

Ripple stills at the use of her name "How did you know that?" a toneless question, but the stones shift as an outhouse-sized house rises on chicken feet to stand protectively behind the woman.
"Us..." The tone hints to a question, then mimics Ikka perfectly "We are also trapped and more of 'Us' are arriving" Her head moves to look around, her mind connecting places she has never heard of to the people around us. "We all Travel? And that pulled us all here, is keeping us here?"

Ripple frets inside her mind as another name is said. Not giving one will appear rude, won't it? The situation might mask that. Scared woman lost in the midst of these horrors... no, her eyes look around her. They saw her fight back... oh bother bother bother...
Sorin doesn't appear to be from here. Ergar appears different than the majority of the people she has seen. More important is that he appears different than the form she is wearing. And this Ikka is more foreign looking as well, but at least the most similar.
Ikka then. Sharp in the middle, hers being K, end in vowel, A. Short name.
"Rita" the blonde answers both to Sorin and the new comers. Remembering to include a tired brief smile. "What is happening?"

Instead of blending in with the people fleeing, or even the invading army, Ripple had decided to stay with the people trying to defend the humans. Her mind wondered at the reason why. It would have been easy. Hut would run away to come back later, and she would simply become someone else.
But she didn't.
Not yet at least.
The blonde's face she is still wearing registers surprise with a hint of apprehension as the newcomers show up, searching for one of them. She looks around their group quickly, and answers "No"
She doesn't give a name, since there has been no time to research acceptable names for the region.

Ripple considers the pointed-eared human's words. Normal does seem like Running, by looking at the majority of the people here. But others are not. They look at the three people fighting.
And decides, to be Not Normal like them
defend someone: 2d6 + 0 ⇒ (6, 4) + 0 = 10 not in hut so using savior
The blonde's eyes look around. The two women are dancing around like leaves in the wind while the man is performing some ritual. The man is less protected, and doing something that they hope will help.
A thick vine splits into two, grasping rubble. Pulling back, then chucking the rock at a spear flying over the wall that might have hit the wizard man.
Defending Sorin. It says to help decide what the immediate threat is, so if the spear thrown isn't okay, feel free to change.
The rock defects the weapon. Ripple feels this is a moment to smile or wink at the person she just helped. So they do both.
Taking Influence over Sorin, oddly that sounds malicious... :(

At the question, the blonde freezes.
Completely. No twitches, no shifting of her weight, no Breathing.
'What Are You' sends panic coursing through her mind, which makes her forget to make her body act Normal. Humans betray. Their dark fears of that which is different made her want to bury herself into the ground.
But then they would die.
Her face turns slowly. Measured and wooden, lacking any expression, she assures "Normal. I am normal." the vines coming out of her robe where her arms should be tighten on the rocks. "You should run"

The land shuddering crash of building, the billowing dust enveloping the running house, lost for a moment just before it leaps out of the cloud with a plethora of people held on to every bit.
"Good hut" the masked one says, running their thin hand across the rough wood. Before the masked one shifts again into a noble looking blonde she had become in the first moments of being in this land.
Stepping out, she looks to the man screaming. Her alien mind wondering why a person would choose a name so close to something else. Is there a person for every month. Hello December, I'm Feburary.
Then she realizes this is one of those moments where her inhumanity is flaring, so she stops thinking about months and instead steps to help him look for this June.
But then he is dead and she has NO idea if the path her was leading her toward, or anyone toward is lost forever or not, so she gets annoyed beyond question.
Suddenly her arms tear into long green vines grasping large boulders and slamming them in front of the spearman, creating a wall.
unleash to change environment: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (3, 5) + 2 = 10
The crash, more dust, a sudden blocking of the enemy from the victims, then the pretty blonde woman with vine arms looks to the crowds and says plainly...
"Run"

"I. cannot. Hold. THIS!" The beast says in ever-increasing loudness, an edge of frustration coming into the previously inflectionless voice. The column gives out seconds later.
Jumping away, shifting to a bird in midair, they flap a million flaps a second to her house, running away from the teetering building.
The bird becomes a masked humanoid in blue robes "The people" the being says, the frustration in their voice again. The source of their frustration. People dying. So many unique bundles of undiscovered mysteries about to be snuffed out.
"Get them" they order their precious hut, and it runs toward a streaming mass of humans whose legs will not be enough to get them free.
defend, using superior: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (3, 6) + 2 = 11
When you are flying your ship, you can use it to unleash your powers, directly engage a threat, or defend someone using Superior.
Stairs unfold, flatten and become a ramp (or a tongue) as people are near swallowed by the running (and expanding) house on legs.
The eyes behind the mask see others performing beyond normal activities around the devastation. "I can carry more!" Their voice carries a far greater distance than it should.
defend of 11 lets them pick something from the list. So "add a Team to the pool"

The strange beast wrapped around the column holding the massive building from falling yells in twinned desperation to... Anyone. "I cannot hold this long either." the voice out of the furry giant was toneless and calm. Just Loud.
provoking: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (5, 4) + 2 = 11
The calm voice grows even louder carrying over the destruction, up the many floors of the structure the creature is holding up. "This building will fall. Each of you needs to help the person next to you to leave as quickly as possible." Ripple includes the 'help the other person' knowing that Humans are herd animals, so do better with another of their kind around them at all times.

unleash your powers to reshape your environment: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (5, 1) + 2 = 8 hmmm.... maybe temporary?
Shuddering sounds break Ripple out of her observations. Her mind had been lost
in mapping every jump, dodge, and skid, in hopes of getting close enough to UNDERSTAND. She snaps her neck toward the sound, the motion too sudden for a human's neck.
The danger is revealed.
"Tides..." The dread pours out of her mouth. Her mind still pulls to the problem. The first problem. She looks ahead at the thundering stones, then frowns, before turning back to the helpless people.
Humans. They will hate her. Why would she try and help them? Why does she WANT to help them?
She doesn't have an answer. But her heart doesn't wait.
The woman runs, morphing into a beast mid-stride, one with mighty furred legs, purple and magenta, then speeds across the plaza. The beast leaps at the column, colors shifting to marble, wrapping around the column and holding it together.
For now.
Her smallish hut arrives moments later, tilting to the side, as if asking 'What are you doing?'

A burst of worried fury erupts as their house is battered. Ripple wondered at the emotion. The house had been their cage, but in the year since, they have spent more time in its creaking silence than any other creature.
Ripple cared for it.
Hmmm...
Looking at the fissures, the dragon, and the rising building... they decide need more information. Which means they need to get closer.
access the situation, superior: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (5, 4) + 2 = 11
Ripple is trying to get closer, so would try "what here can I use to get closer without hurting either them or their house" and "what here is the biggest threat"

Ripple tilts her head to the side at the behavior of the woman, the surprise, the fear, then the retreat. Then she is gone.
Ripple considered shifting to look like the woman, to fit in more with this world's humans. but someone could notice. And more terror would fill the area. But she does have a place to change.
A moment in her hut, she comes back out as a woman in impeccable attire, with clothes formal and fit perfectly for her shape, mostly white and black with a golden pin shaped like a sun on her chest.
Then with a cluck cluck, she calls her closet of her house, she does the only thing she can think of, move toward the tower. She is assuming IT is what was calling to her.

A figure wrapped in dusty cloth knees down on the lip of the rocky crag, watching the herd of large reptilian birds. Twenty two of them drinking from the sparse pool of clear water.
A nudge rocks her from the side, like one a loving pet would give, except her 'pet' is a one story house on chicken legs. "I know, and yes, I'll-" the eerie voice behind a plain wooden mask had hints of amusement before it stops when a feeling the figure had never felt before clenched inside their chest.
New but they understands what it is. Her house feels it too, having shared a connection with them since that first wrenching, from their home into this hellscape.
So no more words were needed. The figure ripples like water hit with a peddle, becoming not a person again but a massive winged reptile, roaring so loud the water below ripples as well.
The roar is clear, 'MINE' it announces, and the herd is not dumb enough to argue with that, scattering in fear.
The winged beast lands at the pool, the house running behind it, then the creature ripples again into the plain wrapped masked figure. "We don't know where. So disguises."
The house hurumphs but shakes violently seconds later until it is just the size of a closet (or outhouse, but the house does not like being referred as an outhouse). The figure ripples again becoming a tan woman with blonde hair, a pretty face, and dusty travelling robes and leathers.
Then she kneels, pressing her face into the water. The water stills, like become solid, then shatters like glass as Ripple shattering the space between words.
When she rises, she is in another world. Looking about as quickly as possible, she does the most sense to her at the moment "What is that?" she asks the nearest gawker.
