Rin shoulders his kit again, ready to be off.

Keep going towards the lizards of doominess.

"Not in a bad way." Rin hastens to reassure the centaur.

"We went through a battle to save a tree. Things went very bad towards the end of that and Orgagg and I think we might possibly be in some kind of afterlife. It's more a philosophical discussion than a state of body."

Aware that the explanation may not be helping much, Rin shrugs. "What's more important is whether we can help you."

Rin fails to perceive the woods for the trees.

Magic Missile was errataed pretty extensively. In Rin's case he'd be doing 8 auto-damage with it.

Rin walks slowly, contemplating Deimos and wondering how the old coot knew just so much about his secret wishes.

Rin looks steadily at Orgdagg and answers quietly.

"I was sure we had failed. Agni took the potion to the heart and that began the healing, but we weren't strong enough to overcome the dark guardians. Ouda was in bits. Sturdy not much better, Ottarr looked bad. The last thing I remember was being pulled under water by a floating thing and wishing I was faster, or better or even just less of an idiot. What about you?"

"People are always threatening to kill me, don't worry about it. I've had some near misses, but so far it's never quite worked."

No to the sword, mainly because Rin stuffed up his Arcana check. Can try again though, as some time has passed.

"Her charms wore a bit thin after she tried to kill us, but we'll take heed."

Still somewhat stunned by the turn of events, Rin remains unusually silent on the journey back. At length though, he finds his tongue, long enough to ask Deimos something.

"Some of us were marked by ... the witch." Prudence and maybe fear prevent him speaking the name aloud. "Do you know what that may do to them? And can you offer us any advice, Deimos? You've fought her and you know her weaknesses - if she has any."

"Agni, I owe you a - Ottar, what does Agni like best? I've under-informed on ravens."

"We may all be. I was drowning, Ottar went down, Sturdy was in bits and so were you. Ordagg was still alive last I saw. I don't even see any wounds, so dead and in an afterlife is a possibility."

Rin pulls himself together a bit and turns his attention to the situation. Rather groggily.

Rin looks around, taking in his companions and realising that everyone looks much better than they have done for a while. Still uncertain about where they are or even if they're still alive, he ventures a cautious question.

"Does anyone know what's happening?"

"Dying is good. I like dying."

Rin's voice is dreamy. Then some of the errant pollen gets up his nose and he sneezes.

"Hayfever? I'm pretty sure that's not part of the afterlife."

A pause while he takes a little more stock and registers his companions.

Are all body parts present and correct? He's not going to feel rapturous if Ouda is still in bits.

Yup. He's on -11 but in all other respects, you're right. Drowning as well, so I'll lose a surge each round regardless of whether I make the death save or not. This is bizarrely familiar territory, it's been happening a lot lately :) Don't worry about it Evil.

Rin's last conscious thought is unprintable as he fails to get out of the way for the last time.

Aware that time is running out for all parties, Rin tries to blast the floating horror before swimming desperately around the heart to win himself cover.

Blimey. Crit! Floating whatnot takes 14 from the attack power and 2d6 ⇒ (3, 4) = 7 from the orb for a total of 21

My other pc in dire straits survived against all the odds as well. They're having a lucky run at the moment. This is a bit too close for comfort though

Keep the second wind and move to L9. Submerged if possible. That +2 to defenses may make a difference.

Was on 2hp, using second wind to go up to a non-majestic 13hp and +2 all defenses to start next turn.
Ideally would like to move (slowly) to the blessed area, but failing that will submerge and hope.

Rin's head surfaces for a moment.

"Get them in the water. I feel better already. They won't."

Hmm.

Attacked on two fronts and hauled through the a pocket universe, Rin is hardly feeling at his best. He does note that the water is demolishing the evil-doers and hopes against hope that it may help him.

Thoughtfully, he blasts at the abomination and sinks into the water.

Rin looks anxiously at Ottar.

"Really bloody hell ..." as he looks at the advancing parasites.

Can't heal you, but can make a stabilisation check when you go unconscious.

Unable to back up any further, he does the only thing he can think of.

Take OA from fast parasite 2.
Chilling Cloud (Fort) centred on Q2. -2 to attacks for parasites 1 and 2 to end Rin's next turn, 4 cold damage if hits.
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25 - parasite 1
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21 - parasite 2
If either of those hit, activate orb and use daily power to push them back two squares.

Rin raises his orb and conjures illusory opponents to invade his enemies minds.

Enemies Abound (Will). Burst 1 within 20 centred on Sturdy - only affects enemies. On hit you and your allies can treat the target as an ally for the purposes of flanking until the end of your next turn.

Backing uneasily away, Rin mutters under his breath and his voice amplifies to fill the chambers with whispers promising doom, seeping deep into the demented minds of their foes.

Rin realises all too abruptly that the battle is far from won yet.

Ignoring the battle raging around him, Rin focuses on the precious vial and raises his orb, sending a precise bolt of force into the glass.
