About Riley Savage
Riley Savage was born to a couple who had a hard time fending for themselves let alone a young child. Their first child did not survive and they were unsure how to raise a second one in the woodland hills that they called home. They did the best they could but on the third winter Riley’s father had become ill and the mother was unable to hunt for food and take care if her husband and son. On the night of a severe blizzard four strangers arrived looking for shelter. Scouts lost from their company they were able to heal the father and deliver a full meal to the family in thanks for their hospitality.
The group claimed to be a group that called themselves the Heartland Warriors. The group treated each other as brothers and sisters. Over dinner conversation the scouts covered their background. They explained to the parents that they were all raised together and trained by some of the best. Their goal is to better the world.
The evening went well and for the first time the mother felt safe and the father had a night of rest. The scouts were just glad to have survived the blizzard. Another day had passed and the scouts had left leaving extra food and money for the family before leaving. Before they parted however the mother asked if they would take her son with them. In heartbreaking fashion the mother and father knew deep down that their son would be in the best of hands.
The scouts agreed, and took him and raised him as a brother. He had a knack for the bow learning it’s every aspect. While they travelled extensively he still was fond of the wooded hills and spent much time there. One day, the entirety of the mercenary group of brothers and sisters gathered for a special ceremony. That ceremony was interrupted by an attack of a fierce dragon. The entire organization was no match for the dragon and in a blaze of glory they all went down and died.
Riley survived with major burns across his body, as well as an immediate passion against dragons. For a few years he spent his time in the cities reading researching and understanding the background and language of Dragons and their arcane background.
