Background:
A Rat with No Name
Growing up in the streets of a town he didn't know the name of, a small rat-child watches his mother get stomped to death by a human brute. To scared to help, and not knowing where is father is, he hides in shame. Years go by as he scavenges to stay alive, slowly learning his trade and honing the skills he would need to become the hero that would have saved his mother. He learns to care for a sword, and even use it. He carries on being dashing and charming, as he believe this is what heroes are supposed to do. But he wears the persona of Ratscallion as a mask. He has a hard time getting close to people, as he cannot bear to see the harmed, and for the fear they will come to know him as the no-name rat coward he feels he is in his heart. His desire to avenge his mother, to find the one who stomped her in the gutter, is his constant burden and burning conviction. He also yearns to find his father, to find out where he has been, why he wasn't there for him and his mother. And to ask him his given name.
