Controlled Rage (Ex) (8 rounds/Day): When an urban barbarian rages, instead of making a normal rage she may apply a +4 morale bonus to her Strength, Dexterity, or Constitution. This bonus increases to +6 when she gains greater rage and +8 when she gains mighty rage. She may apply the full bonus to one ability score or may split the bonus between several scores in increments of +2. When using a controlled rage, an urban barbarian gains no bonus on Will saves, takes no penalties to AC, and can still use Intelligence-, Dexterity-, and Charisma-based skills. This ability otherwise follows the normal rules for rage.

Intimidating Glare (Rage Power): The barbarian can make an Intimidate check against one adjacent foe as a move action. If the barbarian successfully demoralizes her opponent, the foe is shaken for 1d4 rounds + 1 round for every 5 points by which the barbarian's check exceeds the DC.

Background:

Ranus was born in the Puddles in Absalom. His father was Garun Bonebreaker, a well known Capo for the local Dwarven cartel. He was reared by his father to do whatever it takes to survive on the streets and taught that loyalty to your family was paramount. Ranus has already lived as long as most humans, and his life has been full of crime and brutality. He started out as a mule, spent some time as an enforcer and then moved on to being a pesh dealer.

He spent the last five years rotting in a dungeon on charges of murder after he was forced to publicly smash a rival's head in a turf battle. After his release he found his father to be deathly ill. The old man had been waiting for his son to get out of prison before letting himself die, and he passed on his trademark giant warhammer to his son with his dying words "Take this hammer and crush anyone who stands in your way." Filled with a new determination to be the top dog on the streets of Absalom, Ranus set out to reestablish himself in the underworld there.

Personality:

Ranus is a gregarious fellow, with a red hot short temper. As long as things are going his way, he tends to be generous and loose with compliments. As soon as someone makes a mistake or crosses him, he becomes and enraged and inconsolable foe. He is not averse to risk, and will do whatever he thinks is necessary to get ahead. A true gangster, he considers life a stuggle which he cannot lose. He is fanatically loyal to those under and above him and expects the same from all his associates.
