Early in the morning, Ranak moved through the streets towards the market. The street lanterns were still lit as the sun had not yet risen.
"Maybe this merchant will have what I need. The roast will need some spices."
Ranak worked as a cook for a local tavern. He stayed in the kitchen as most people had a problem with his looks. Well, he did look different. Most people he met thought he was scary. Cooking was his way of overcoming his physical repulsiveness. People may not have liked his hideous face, but they loved his exceptional cooking. The tavern was always busy at night. Hard to find good food in these parts, or so he was told.
When he wasn't working at the tavern, he was down at the docks working as a guard. He really wasn't very threatening, but with a face that only a mother could love, he kept the riffraff in line. He would watch the ships come and go, the cargo being unloaded, the people who were shuffling on to where ever their destination lie. He longed to travel, to see the ocean, feel the waves on his face as he stood on deck of a ship.
One night after he was done cooking, he went out to the Formidably Maid to have a couple drinks. When he was done, he moseyed down to the docks to watch the sea for a while. Suddenly, he saw stars and the dock rushing to meet him....
Appearance:
Ranak is very ugly. He is 6'2" at 248lbs. He wears an explorers outfit, a backpack, with a dagger on his right hip and a light crossbow on his back.
Personality:
Ranak is generally amiable. Because his hideous looks cause him grief, he stays away from most people. He has made a friend with the owner of the tavern, partly due to his exceptional skill at cooking.
