About Ragnar Thorkelson
Ragnar is the blacksmith of Tanner's Crossing. Being an easygoing and helpful young man, he is understandably popular. Lately he can be found staring into the fire of the forge literally for hours. His sorcerous powers appeared one day as his hands spontaneously caught on fire, without hurting him in the least. To this day he has little understanding of his own powers, preferring a life in obscurity and practising his more useful talents in smithing. He thinks that he may be distantly related to some powerful dragon, but the truth (of which he has no idea) is that the forge where he has spent so many years, contains a relic of an ancient gold dragon [leaving this up to the DM].
He could easily be friends with many of the others, especially those of a warlike disposition. Ragnar is no adherent of the "swords into ploughshares" philosophy, but considers a well-made sword a thing of beauty. Ragnar cam be single-minded when he's set upon something but his usual attitude is to face life with a bland smile and a lame joke.
