Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

"I prefer dry forests. Forests growing on water do not seem natural. Plus, the slurping noises our boots make probably give our position away at a mile's distance."

Tracing Natara's hands, Radko exclaims in a strange language as he sees Sir Alfric's body. Abandoning his attempts to chop a skeleton, he approaches Sir Alfric and lays hands upon him, letting out a spark of divine energy.
Move towards Alfric and cast CLW, perhaps provoking AOO along the way.

Upon hearing Natara's outcry, Radko turns to her with a quizzical look on his face.
Tongues curse - only speak/understand Celestial in combat

Radko sighs as he gets the axe unstuck from the ground and tries again.
Atk: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Dmg: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19

sorry for the extended absence. Also, die, skeletons!

Radko attempts to lop the skeleton's head off with his axe.
Power attacking for this combat
Atk: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Dmg: 1d12 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15

"Well, finally! I thought we'd never make it. But it really is a wreck. Frankly speaking, I'm a bit underwhelmed."

Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Radko marches on, blissfully unaware of the dangers around.

When will Kurgess overtake the Tarrasque?, Radko muses aloud.

"Oh. I suspect wishful thinking."
Disappointed, Radko lowers the axe and continues to trot along.

"At last. I have to admit I'm curious what those 'land ships' actually are."
Radko speeds up his pace and draws his greataxe.

"Sorry. Since I have gained divine powers, I feel that I'm losing the ability to express myself. Especially under stress, like when attacked by the leech."

"Leeches suck, excuse my Galtan."

Sorry about the delay.
Radko shakes his head. "The leech startled me. This forest is getting on my nerves. Good thing it wasn't Soggy. I'll be more alert next time. Did it manage to injure any of you?"

"How kind of him. Well let's go then!"

"Let's do it if you have the directions. Then we can get back and blast the undead with the fireworks!"

"I agree; although they probably won't be empty either. But at least we can hope that no ancient evil from beyond the grave will lurk there."

I thought we're after them now? Didn't the goblins steal them from whoever assaulted their village?

Were there some sidequests we missed?

"You're right; better to get moving than to sit here waiting for that to find us."

Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
Know: Nature: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
"By Erastil, that didn't sound peaceful!"
Radko grabs his weapons.

"It is settled, then. I volunteer for the first watch."
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21

"It's not like we are badly hurt, but Mai is weakened, I'm almost out of spells, and we don't know what awaits us. I'd rather face something that has destroyed a whole goblin village, when in full strength."

"Great. So shall we press on, or perhaps make camp and continue on the morrow?"

"Yes, I'd rather get to the bottom of this sooner. This trek is getting quite long."

Radko pauses as the gift of speech slowly returns to him.
"What? Oh my, just hold on there."
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
I think it was my last one for today... I'll double-check
EDIT: got one more left

Radko mumbles something incoherent as he tries to cut the sleazy leech in half.
Atk: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Dmg: 1d12 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14

What came from nowhere?...
Init: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Suddenly losing the ability to speak, Radko attacks the leech.
Atk: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Dmg: 1d12 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
But his swing also misses.

"It is so quiet... I wonder if 'the bones' are expecting us?"
Every minute or so Radko would pause for a spell of Detect Evil and Detect Magic.

Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

Radko falls in line, listening to Natara conversing with the goblin.
Such an awful tongue! Sounds like rusty iron doors screeching. The sight of a pretty girl making such sounds leaves a disturbing impression.

"Does the goblin know if 'the bones' took something large from the village? Otherwise it looks almost like they wanted to be followed."

"Makes sense, let's go."

"Tell our guide I'll come down hard on him in case of betrayal."
Radko tries to convey the menace through his looks to the goblin as they exit the building.
Intimidate: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9

Back in the game
Radko winks at Mai as he enters.
As Natara translates the parley dialogue, he addresses her:
"Can you make sure they send someone who can speak our language to guide us?"

Radko stands by the double door, his weapon lowered but not sheathed. He whispers a prayer to Erastil for guidance. casting Guidance orison.

My posting is going to be sporadic at least until July 23rd due to RL issues. I'll try to sneak in a post or two until then.

"Can the goblin chief know magic? Perhaps he made himself invisible? Natara, can you ask him to show himself?"
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

"How smart of him. Perhaps this is our chance to finally learn what happened here."
Radko puts the axe away and demonstrates his bare hands to the goblin.

"I feel kinda sorry for them cowering like that, after they've already been decimated by someone or something", Radko muses. I think it's five goblins we killed in the fair fight by now.

Huh? You didn't say you've studied alchemy. Well apparently someone's afraid of us, then?
Radko sheathes his axe as he approaches.

I think I've rolled more perception checks in this thread than in all others combined
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Radko slowly gets up. "We haven't been blown up yet? I smelled incendiary gas and was afraid its source will have fire, too."
He moves to investigate with the others.
casting Detect Magic in that direction

Radko echoes Natara's outcry and throws himself on the floor.
Ref: 1d20 ⇒ 15

Radko also turns back, startled by the sudden commotion.
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15

Radko follows Sir Alfric through the empty room, swinging his axe nonchalantly. What's the worst that can happen, anyway?

Detect Evil would be useless as the DM's evil grin would show up and block everything else in the room.

Unless anything jumps at Radko from the room, Radko jumps at anything in the room :)
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

"Well supposedly it's a river monster, so the village should be too dry for its taste."
Radko tries to sound reassuring, but really it's just wishful thinking on his part.

Radko steps on the walkway, taking the opportunity to look around the village from a vantage point, then assumes position beside Sir Alfric if all is safe.
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18

Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

"Ready."
