Appearance and Personality:
Racine is short and kind of scrawny, her large, emerald eyes taking up most of her face. She looks very young, even for an elf, and dresses in dark green and earthen tones to help with sneaking. She is a bit shy in social contexts, except for the times when she gets angry, which have her revert to the street kid she used to be, wrathful and aggressive. Although prone to kindness, she is not very cheerful, her smiles are always bittersweet.

Backstory:
Far away from their native forests, some elves thrived in the new world created by science. Some adapted their minds, trained to the rigor needed for magic, to discovery and engineering. Others failed, and lost all reason to live.
Mahira Meweli was one of these elves. Once a student of the druidic tradition, she was lured to the big city by a youthful and rebellious spirit. She saw opportunities, chances, but she only found a world moving too fast for her elven slow pace, she could not adapt. In the end, she took to living on the streets, in poverty and squalor.
Here, she gave birth to a daughter, Racine. Mahira never knew who the father was, drugs and famine had weakened her mind, but she tried to care for the child as best as she could, taking on the most repugnant jobs in order to feed and clothe her. Then, one day, when Racine was just twenty, Mahira met her end in one of many serial killings that plagued the poor and destitute.
Left alone, Racine took to stealing and scavenging, lost and invisible in the merciless bowels of the city, until one day she found herself running in the sewers, fleeing from two thugs she had stole food from. As her heart pounded in her ears, she did not hear skittering, neither did she realize that her pursuers had disappeared, until she found herself face to face with a grotesque creature, a dozen of rats fused together into a monstrosity known as a Rat King. Terrified, she crawled into a fetal position, waiting to die, but instead she heard a bang and smelt the acrid scent of sulfur and gunpowder.
Daring to open her eyes, she saw three humanoid figures, clad in dark armor, holding the rat horde at bay and slaughtering the vermins with ruthless efficiency. A dwarf wielding a light-shedding hammer, an elf juggling alchemical explosives and a human sending gouts of flames at the rats made short work of the swarm, sending them scattering through the sewers before stashing the burned corpse of the King in a satchel.
Amazed, Racine approached her saviours, crying and thanking them and asking them a barrage of questions. Moved to pity by the small orphan, the three presented themselves as monster hunters, secretly collecting bounties for those foul creatures that still existed, but no one dared mention. They took Racine with them, at first just for the necessary time to provide her with a safe home, but the girl proved herself to be an excellent shot with a musket and a decent student of magic, and started assisting the hunters, first scouting from a safe distance, then providing supporting fire, finally as a member of the team.
When Rufus, the wizard, grew old, the burden of humankind's short lifespan weighing on his shoulders, the group finally split. Rufus went to pass on what he knew of magic, Norna the dwarf and Elleth the elf returned to their homeland. Racine tried enrolling in the police, but was soon frustrated by the binding rules and the mundanity of threats, and so she started looking for some new hunting partner...
Promemoria, ignore freely:
Snap Shot has to wait 7/8 for BAB requirements, fifth level of Magus has a combat feat, though. Possibly worth.
Deadly Aim at some point.
