I just want know how many people like it and how many people would ignore then if they had the option to see how popular it is.

You would think there are enough undead in the Whispering Way to generate a covenant, and if the prophecies can succeed in turning people into gold, wouldn’t that also be enough power?

Just asking out of curiosity really.

Any new on the dragon stuff? any rumors about player options related to dragons?

I mean, not the D&D setting, but is there any chance of Paizo hiring Larian Studios to make a Pathfinder game or something similar?

I know they are no longer descendants of dragons but I always liked the idea, there is just something about a weak creature working its way to power like a magikarp evolving its way to a gyarados that makes me want to cheer and support them.

Dragons are a staple of fantasy and rpgs can we get more of them?

I went to look at the four essences of the traditions and noticed something interesting:

Life (heart, faith, instinct, vital)
Matter (body, material, physical)
Mind (thought, mental, astral)
Spirit (soul, ethereal, spiritual)

Necromancy uses souls or fragments of them to affect the body by reanimating it. Perhaps the reason necromancy doesn't seem to fit neatly into any of these categories is that it represents one of the two missing traditions: Spirit + Matter the other would be Life + Mind.

Maybe one of these two traditions could be focused on necromancy and the other on using the mind to influence the hearts and vital forces of others, akin to a Mesmerist tradition.

Because there are so many different ways to use necromancy, it’s probably better to present it as a list for multiple classes, like a death knight, rather than as a single class.

Necromancy is dangerous; it involves meddling with dead bodies and spirits, as well as negative energy, all of which can be harmful to one's health. Getting involved in these practices might lead people to view you negatively. To make matters worse, the deity who oversees the dead and her followers absolutely loathe the creation of undead beings, who can not only kill you but also turn you into one of them in a very painful way.

This raises an interesting question: who would go to such lengths as to not just dabble in this art but to fully commit their lives to it, transforming it into an entire class rather than just a spell or archetype? It’s not merely a gamble on your social status or physical well-being; it’s a risk to your life, soul, and afterlife. This is definitely not something you should take lightly or do on a whim.

If you're looking for an army, there are far better options—like creating constructs or summoning outsiders. And if your goal is to bring someone back to life, resurrection magic already accomplishes that. So why take the necromancy path?

One possibility is that undead worshippers, such as clerics of Urgathoa, Zura, and Orcus, as well as members of the Whispering Way, encourage their followers to seek undeath. However, this sounds more like the role of a cleric and aligns with an evil character, so I don't think this is what the developers intended.

Another possibility involves people who are dissatisfied with the current laws governing the cycle of souls. This includes those who wish to live forever by becoming undead or those who want to bring back a soul that has already been judged.

What do you think would motivate a necromancer, and what type of necromancer do you believe this class is meant to represent?

The pinnacle of necromancy is lichdom, but I won’t request something as absurd as a feat that transforms you into a lich or vampire. However, it would be cool to have something like an undead sorcerer that grants you the undead subtype, even if it's just for show, like a trophy. A necromancer class simply wouldn’t feel complete without a feat like this; it’s such a classic staple of necromancers that is iconic across all forms of media. Of course, if anyone on the team decided to go all out for some reason and create something like the needle egg from Koschei the Deathless, I would be even happier!

It will be much easier than trying to decide which tradition it should belong to. Occult is not a good fit, and we have too many divine casters. A necromancy spell list will allow players to use all necromancy spells, resulting in a more thematic overall spell list.

I know we have the druid, sorcerer, and dragon instinct barbarian, as well as spells like the dragon form spell. However, none of these really feels like a dragon mage; they can't cast spells while in dragon form, and the duration of one minute is too short. If we were to get a shapeshifter class, which seems to be the consensus, it would be great to have a class archetype focused entirely on fully emulating a true dragon with spell casting and no duration limits.

The Animist isn't out yet, but since we have a thread for classes and ancestry, we might as well have a thread for what apparitions people are hoping to see.

I'm hoping for apparitions with the following themes:

The spirit of an archmage, inspired by magical books.

An apparition themed around graveyards and the undead, maybe a dead vampire or variant lich.

An apparition related to the Lovecraftian mythos—bonus points if it's connected to the Yellow King.

Has there been any announcement? It would be nice if there was something like the owlcat version of wrath of the righteous, its one of my favorite games specially the mythic paths like angel, aeon, trickster, gold dragon etc... but I'm fine with regular mythic too.

The Animist sounds similar enough to the medium and shaman from 1e that I might choose it as my main class. While it will never replace the original wizard, at this point, I’ll take anything I can get. The class was perfect, so as long as they don't make any huge changes, it will certainly be great.

To be honest this is probably the last time I will be posting on this forum and that is because (no offense intended) I realized I just cant enjoy this game as a it is but reading the thread about the idea of a 3rd edition made me wonder a few things so here are the questions:

1- will second edition ever be more like first edition?

2- will there be more pathfinder first edition

3- will a hypothetical 3rd edition if it comes out be more like first edition?

4- will there be anything at all similar to first edition?

5- is there any game that is still supported that is like first edition

So you can probably guess where I'm going with this I loved first edition but can't take this game is there any hope I will get what I enjoy or any viable alternative? I guess the answer to the first question is probably no but one can hope.

The class itself is gold but with so many people asking for nerfs I can already tell its going to get botched at release,

10/10 its as good as it can be change nothing.

We have had a lot of criticism about the wizard, but what about something more positive? I would like to hear what changes you would make to the wizard class in the remaster. Think of it as a suggestion thread and keep it positive (please no criticism or negativity).

Note: This isn't meant to be a home-brew thread but a feedback thread on what the community wants from a remastered wizard.

Is this rumors true?
