Back from the trip. We hiked rim-to-rim at the Grand Canyon. It was hard, it was amazing, it was worth it, and I can't wait to return to do it again.

Will see tomorrow what work holds in store. That's going to impact posting availability - I just hope the vacation was enough to keep me sane over the next couple of weeks.

At my house we are in the final run-up to our annual fall adventure. This year, we will not have access to wifi for at least four days. In addition, pressure at work related to my anticipated absence and ongoing major project may take me out of the game earlier than that and may keep me off the boards for a while after.

I wanted to post this to all my games while I could to explain that I may go silent for a while. I may get a few more posts in - I'm not sure when radio silence will begin. It could start as early as today - probably late tomorrow - and might run through the 26th if the project goes poorly.

Please don't let my absence stall the game. Bot me as necessary and we will pick up the pieces (or roll up my new character) when I return.

I didn't get terribly deep into ACG - I just don't have time and there's a bit of feature fatigue setting in - but I did try to look to see what applied to Q'urtaz. As you mentioned, the Charisma score became less important, so I trimmed it in order to gain a point on the Wisdom modifier.

Too bad the Weapon of the Chosen doesn't apply to sacred weapons rather than favored weapons - I was hoping to use the scimitar as my primary weapon rather than the flail, so the feat tree isn't that attractive.

As always, if someone has something they think I should consider, I'm all ears.

The oread's gem-like eyes widen as he realizes the potential results of the current situation. With all of the speed his limbs can provide, he rushes toward the others in the party, heedless of whoever he might run over in his rush.

This boulder is rolling downhill and y'all are at the bottom of the hill. Just sayin'.

I have not been removing the sandbag each time until the darts stop flying, if that's pertinent. I think 15' from the pressure plate would be about right.

A thought occurs to Q'urtaz. "Maybe the sand will hold the trigger down." With the sandbag still in place, he turns over, crawls forward, and presses down with both hands on the trigger. Picture a push-up, but not actually lifting himself up into the firing path so much as just using his weight to push down.

With a prayer to empower his minor protection blessing for an AC boost, the oread lays on his back with the bag of sand on his chest. Heaving it up and 'overhead', he slams it into the trigger plate and waits to see the result of his handiwork, waiting until any airborne darts have fallen before taking stock of the situation.

I hope a knotted rope and a wall to brace against bring the DC as low as I think they do. How many rolls do I need?
