About Quayne Dovarr

Quayne Dovarr is short but wiry and while he is no muscle man he is obviously fit and healthy. He has golden orange eyes and a perfect smile, except for a missing front tooth. His skin is a dark chocolate brown and his hair is short, black and curly. His nose is a little flat, but he has high cheekbones and smooth skin. He often wears brightly coloured robes favouring oranges, yellows and reds. A raven familiar is constantly perched on his shoulder. Quayne often thinks aloud to her and calls her Gartha and occasionally she responds in the common tongue.

TRAITS:
Hedge Magician: Quayne apprenticed for a time to a craftswoman who often built magic items, and he learned many handy shortcuts and cost-saving techniques. Whenever Quayne crafts a magic item, reduce the required gp cost to make the item by 5%.

River Rat:Quayne learned to swim right after he learned to walk. As a youth, a gang of river pirates put him to work swimming in nighttime rivers and canals with a dagger clenched in his teeth so he could sever the anchor ropes of merchant vessels. Quayne gains a +1 trait bonus on damage dealt with a dagger and a +1 trait bonus on swim checks. Swim is always a class skill for him.

HISTORY:
The son of a Lhazaar Prince, Quayne's magical aptitude was recognised early. He was sent to the Twelve to study with the Dragonmarked in the hope that he would one day understand how to bind elementals to ships. But recently news from home has not been good. His mother has been usurped from her position and Quayne no longer has access to the funds to continue his studies. With no money to return home and no home to return to, Quayne is biding his time in Korth to make the most of his considerable skills. He hopes one day to be able to return to his home and return his mother to her former position.
