Apprentice (Ex) At 1st level, Pyrimus acquired a loyal apprentice named Celia. Celia functions similarly to a cohort, though she begins as a 1st-level commoner with Magical Aptitude as her 1st-level feat and NPC ability scores (13, 12, 11, 10, 9, 8 before racial modifiers). When Pyrimus reaches 3rd level, Celia will become a 1st-level wizard and gain heroic ability scores (15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8 before racial modifiers). Celia can never gain item creation feats, but otherwise follows the normal rules for a cohort. This ability replaces arcane bond.
Bruising Intellect (Ex) Pyrimus can bruise egos with his sharp intellect and rapier-like wit. Intimidate is always a class skill for him, and he may use his Intelligence modifier when making Intimidate checks instead of his Charisma modifier.
Child of Oppara (Ex) Though adopted, Pyrimus belongs to the noble Lotheed family in Taldor, known for their history of powerful arcane spellcasters. As the story begins, he has quietly distanced himself from the day-to-day concerns of the Lotheed estate, busying himself as a teacher and tutor in Taldan history and noble lineages. His upbringing among the city’s well-to-do gives him an upper hand when it comes to knowledge of high society, and he starts the game with a modest inheritance. With Princess Eutropia’s efforts to provide for Taldor’s common citizens and overturn years of tradition, new lines are being quietly drawn in the sand, and he has found himself embroiled in these intrigues whether he intended to be or not. He gains a +1 trait bonus on Appraise and Knowledge (nobility) checks. In addition, the Noble Scion feat does not have a Charisma prerequisite for him. He also starts play with a noble’s outfit, a signet ring, and a single additional nonmagical item worth no more than 200 gp (an alchemist's lab).
