If the save fails, the creature falls asleep for a number of rounds equal to the witch’s level. This hex can affect a creature of any HD. The creature will not wake due to noise or light, but others can rouse it with a standard action. This hex ends immediately if the creature takes damage. Whether or not the save is successful, a creature cannot be the target of this hex again for 1 day.

Appearance:

With dark blue skin, black hair, short horns and a short tail, there is no doubt about Psyana's background. She wears dark clothing and tends to keep her hood up to partially conceal her origins. Rarely is she seen during the light of day, rather staying out of sight, frequently under water, during the light of day and only coming out when the sun goes down to find a source for food and income.

Background:

Born to Myriana Rashkar, the youngest daughter of a minor noble, Psyana was never accepted. To say Myriana's father was upset that his youngest daughter had become pregnant following a little too much partying was an understatement. However, the though of a child fathered by a noble blonde haired northerner tempered his wrath somewhat. However, when Psyana was born with dark, almost black, skin and hair, it was apparent that the father was no human, but rather some denizen of a lower plane who had concealed his identity in seducing Myriana.

Myriana's father ordered that the child be destroyed, but Myriana could not part with her daughter and instead hid the child on the estate. For several years, Myriana raised Psyana, however at the age of six, Psyana was discovered and again Myriana's father ordered that the child be killed. This time, Psyana was tied to weights and thrown into the Egorian harbor. Much to young Psyana's surprise, she did not die despite being securely bound. Instead she discovered that she could breathe as easily beneath the waves as above. After two days of struggling, Psyana escaped her bonds and swam back to shore.

Since this time, Psyana has spent her life living in the shadows and beneath the waves. She has discovered her mystical powers and used them to survive. Her motto is nobody cared whether I live, so why should I care about anyone else. Frequently she now preys on victims on ships and boats in the harbor or people walking along the waterfront. Psyana uses her ability to put people to sleep and then grabs them and drags them beneath the waves where she robs them. Whether they survive is irrelevant to her.

Psyana's home is a cave with access only from beneath the water. Her companion Mrrith is able to access the cave through a small air hole from above, but this hole is so small that nothing larger than a big rat could enter.
