Percy winces at the shots, but unperturbed, Percy and Boffins finish switching things off.

Boffins makes small whirrs and chirps as the little dragon flicks switches and presses buttons - Percy answers the questioning notes "I don't know, switch them all off"

Clearly the Faerie Dragon is having a better time of things.
"It's only because you are small and your tiny thieving paws can get into small spaces so easily, all that time you waste designing tricks and traps is showing" Percy comments churlishly at being shown up by his tiny sidekick, drawing a chuckle from the tiny dragon.

I think its like this:

In round one there were two fails.

Boffins tried fishing out the batteries - but couldn't get them out.
Disable Device

Percy tried to locate spare parts - but nothing came to hand.

(Assists may or may not have got them over the line of rolled)

In round two:
Percy got rid of the runes.

The issue of the Batteries and the Spare Parts remains, so either:

Disable Device check or Know (Eng) are required, or assists to those.

If I'm wrong, Kludde will correct me :p

Also, if Percy is struggling with the above checks would an Aid Another have gotten him across the line? Boffins has some skills too that might help :p

GM did they mention earlier to my question about what creatures or things were coming from below? If its all about robots or something I'd prefer to load up an extra Lightning Bolt instead of fireball :p

The Elven noble looks embarrased for a moment "Oh, my manners!" Percy looks to the assembled crowd "To my old friends I bid you greetings once again, and to my new companions, I am Lord Sinclair Percival Blackros, and it is a deep pleasure to meet you"

"And I'm Boffins" says a small voice as a butterfly winged pops into existence on his shoulder.

"If the Scrap Heap has seen ever more raiding parties from the Forge appear, what did they consist of?"

"You have secured access to the Forge, what is it exactly and what do we know of its dangers?"

"Most importantly, what manner of creature LIVES there?"

After securing the route home, Percy makes furious amounts of notes on the journey.

He warmly hints about the Way of the Kirin that he hopes 'future opportunities' may arise bringing honour to all...

Percy will examine the O-Yoroi and the Katana, taking notes of any heraldry or markings of historical interest, and after cataloguing the details, checking for magic, leaves the items.

"The Way didn't specify these items, so not sure they are within our brief - that said they might not know of them either"

He then checks the case...

Percy touches as little as possible, not wanting to find out he has just touched the sword of some ancient Samurai family and triggering an aeons long blood feud over the dishonour or something"

Percy steps into the room, touching little, but noticing the hair beginning to rise - "Perhaps not fire, maybe electricity? Care of anything that might hold a charge"

"I also believe we are being watched, perhaps King is curious about our actions, well we shall show him we are not vagabonds and scoundrels, and that our words to him are true about us being here for knowledge, not plunder. I shall refrain from angering our host - let us keep our attentions on the crown"

I believe he was the last known possessor of a flute we are searching for, we would like to verify if it is still in his possession, or if he knows of its whereabouts - we are not thieves or vagabonds, and are not attempting to steal anything, simply ensuring it is secure."

Percy checks the man over, detecting for magic, and if not on him, a search of the area we found him in (I assume they were keeping him there and he may have had a cell or something? Detect Magic, inch over the place... and double check in case they call it a flute and its a conch shell or some other shenanigans!)
