Lookout (Vanity): A Pathfinder is at her most vulnerable when asleep, and having a deisnated guard allows everyone to rest safely. While you rest a lookout keeps watch. A lookout's bonus on Perception checks is equal to your character level. The lookout immediately wakes you up (as if he had spend a standard action to do so) upon spotting danger.
Fluff:
Private Tiber Corvinus has recently been detached from Andoran's military to serve as a squire for Lance Corporal Chaine Alazario. Due to the dangerous nature of the missions assigned to the Lance Corporal, Private Corvinus' main assignment is the night watch, so as to allow the cavalier his full rest. To his (unspoken) relief, he has discovered that the rest of the extensive duties normally associated with a squire have been assumed by the Lance Corporal himself, since he prefers to tend to his own horse personally. Private Corvinus has excellent eyesight and excellent night vision due to his half-elven heritage (which he prefers to keep to himself, unless pressed for information).
