Sorry guys, I did not notice you had started this back up. But I regret to say I have joined another pbp instead and that three total is all I can handle at one time. Use Pong as you will and good luck on recruiting new players. Should I refer anyone interested to this thread and the discussion or will you be posting a new thread on 'Gamer Connection'?

"That's 'lazy Pong'- I'd like to keep my given nickname. And isn't it a little early for the hard stuff?"

A smile from Batman is more than I dreamed of getting.

Us rubber guys are supposed to be goofy/funny- it's part of the power set. (The only cure is super intelligence.) A friend of mine was telling me that Plastic Man had a back story in the Justice League where he would try to see Wonder Woman naked by sneaking into her quarters and being a bath towel or nightgown. I'm not planning on going that far, but it looks like I'll be reinforcing the stereotype.

The heroes gets out of the vehicle and it closes automatically. Batman talks to Pong:

"Pong take us as near as you can of the fifth floor.

*The building is a 5 story one plus terrace.

Is the building smooth sided or are there tiered levels? Since my powers only allow me to reach 16 yards and my strength is only Good, I'm not really able to stretch up five stories and lift Batman up. But if the building is tiered (meaning each story is smaller than the one below, like a wedding cake) I can stretch up one or two levels at a time and let him climb me like a rope.
Otherwise I can replicate an Incredible level trampoline or slingshot using my Bouncing power. This would seem to require a Feat roll, so here goes: Bouncing (Inc 36)1d100=57 This would appear to a green result.
As I can easily move myself up by bouncing (it's my low strength that prevents me from carrying Bats), I could move up and lower a bat-cable. For a strenth of Good to lift between 200 and 400 pounds seems to require a Yellow Feat, so here goes:1d100=80

Does any of this work? I did mention this was my first Marvel game so I'm a little unsure of how this works.

Edit: Or we could catch a ride with Skater. He went to the roof (of a five story building) and we're headed to the fifth floor.

Pong hears the appropriate soundtrack playing in his head as the adventure begins.

edit: I just realized- every seat is perfectly comfortable as I conform to it. And if Bats has to stop suddenly, I get to do the face-splats-up-against-the-windshield-and-then-slides-down bit. How cool is that?

"You got it, Chief. I'm right with you."

I go off to work and yall start rolling- Neat!

"I think you're right about this being a challenge to us. But we can't allow the police officers and staff be threatened- heroes like them deserve our protection."

"Mechimera, if 'sky high' and 'blown up' are a clue to the powers we will encounter, there might have been some oddities in the recent weather caused by someone with wind or weather abilities."

"So Chief, does this mean we get to ride in the Batmobile?"

"As you know tomorrow will be inaugurated the new offices of the NPPD at the south zone of the city to serve a place that has been plagued by crime in the last 5 years. I don't know how but someone found the way to find me and left this paper sticked to the Bat-movile".

Batman shows the sheet of paper to the group. It says with cut and glued letters:

"The new offices will blow to the skies, better take them from here".

I assume those are the offices will probably suffer a terrorist attack. This note was done by a professional, no fingerprints, no DNA traces, the glue used can be adquired in any stationary and the newspaper used according to a computer analysis caught a letter from a different edition of the Daily Earth. The only clue we have is this guy reads the Daily Earth or at least bought one edition for 54 consecutive days ending yesterday.

First option: We take the case to the NPPD so they use their resources and prevent any possible attack.
Second option: We conserve the information and start surveillance and investigation to prevent any possible attack.

No way to work along the NPPD. So we must decide, we are five so this will be a democracy, ...for now.

"Can we ignore either option? If we expect a terrorist attack, can we not involve the PD? And we have to do all we can, as well."

"I would say we need to give whatever warning we can and we need to act to protect the public by trying to stop this attack."

"The Sargent at the police station in my neighborhood has listened to me in the past. If we've gotten all we can from the note, I could take it to him and pass on the warning. If the opening ceremony can be delayed, we would have more time to track down the attacker. Even if it can't be delayed, the extra caution the PD would use could save lives."

"If the only clue is the note and who it was delivered to, what does that tell us? The letters on the note indicate the sender has been in the area for at least 2 months or has access to someplace that does, like a library. The note being given to Batman suggests he (and us) are being singled out by the attacker. Since our known concern is metahuman crime, does that suggest anyone in particular?"

"The note says 'blown to the skies'. That might mean powers or explosives or even some form of missile. We should be on site to deal with a metahuman or rocket attack. Can we do a search of the area to locate hidden explosives? Mechimera, are your drones capable of that kind of search? Or do we have access to some sort of sensor to do the job?"

"Mech's feint idea is also a possibility. Since the note was to us, what does it direct our attention away from? Is there something in particular we would being doing today that this stops us from doing? Or something today going on today that would be a target we would ignore while we deal with a terrorist attack?"

"I say we start by warning the PD of a possible attack.
Investigate the note by looking into the source of the letters. Were they taken from a library stash of papers? Or does the compulsive one-letter-per-day indicate a particular villian or group? (after all, it would have been just as anonymous had all the letters been taken from yesterday's paper)
Search the target area for explosives.
Be aware of other possible targets.
And be on hand to deal with whatever attack might occur."

How far away do you usually park?

Skater glances up after a couple of minutes to look at Pong.

"Has he said anything? Was there something on the radio or news that I missed?" he asks the hero.

"You know the Chief- Never uses an extra word. He'll tell us what we need to know when he's ready. But I didn't hear anything on the police scanners."

"Right Chief, I'm on the way."

BoBo puts down the foot-massager he was repairing for Mrs. Garrison. The single mother worked long hours at the corner diner, and the broken unit he had found would certainly be appreciated, especially if she never learned who left it on her doorstep. He'd finish later, but now the Batman needed Pong.
In the closet by the stairs leading to the roof hung his costume, kept there so he could change on the way. Once on the roof, Pong could assume his ball form before leaping off and rebounding across the city.

Yoiks, and away!

As an introduction to my team-mates:

I am called Pong. I am rubbery and elastic, with a long reach. I can also become a bouncing ball. In that form, I am more mobile and resistent to blunt impact.
In my more normal form, I am somewhat unattractive. My skin appears aged and weather-worn, as if I had spent many years outdoors. (While I have a secret identity, I have allowed my team-mates to learn my real identity. I do not need to know theirs.)
Out of rubber form, I will answer either to Pong or to BoBo (a life long nickname).
I have some skill with financial matters, and some ability to repair devices.
I value the time spent with team members and am always the last to leave a team gathering.
Even when I'm not patroling the city, I watch over the neighborhood where I live.

Patricio wrote:

The classic way to meet is ordinary meetings every monday on night, then they evaluate their week work (solved cases, new metahuman activity detected, what could be done better) and receive new information and instructions from Batman. There are extraordinary meetings which are summoned by Batman or another member of the team when emergencies arrive. Having one ordinary meeting a week, leaves to the team members a lot of time to "solo" adventures.

Sometimes in coincidence two or three members reunite because of one of them arrive exactly when one or two others are at the place using the information network, resting, recovering or just meditating since the place is silent and quiet. I will prepare a map of the place so you can make an idea of how is it.

All the members of the team are required to make at least one night patrol per week (that is from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.) so they have all the necesary arrangements to this not interfere with their families and jobs.

Pong is quite happy to patrol along with anyone. He has enough wealth that he doesn't require a day job, and is uncomfortable with most people because of his appearence. Besides, he has no skills in investigation and willingly follows the lead of a partner.

Do we have team communicators? Or other team gear? (vehicles, surveillance systems, auto-doctors, etc)
Are we in the middle of any investigations?
Who are some of the metahumans we have been watching?
Is the team concerned more with metahuman crime or do we deal with everything?

Pong's details are listed under his profile.

Patricio, I've re-reading your answer to my previous question. You said "2) Remember that Bouncing Ball deals only with bludgeoning attacks but Armor Skin with physical and energy attacks. As far as I can interpret the rule, this powers exclude each other so you must choose if taking your Armor Skin form or execute your Plasticity powers since when you use the first one you lose your human form in a different way than Plasticity."

Plasticity is the basis of my powers. (Elongation is an Additional power and Bouncing Ball is a Bonus power; both are based upon Plasticity.) My understanding was that I could not turn Plasticity on or off, but that it was always on. Armor Skin (Leather) is listed as always on, unless you take the option that it can be switched off to remove the visible effect of Armor Skin. I did not want to be able to turn off the Leathery appearence since I based my character's story on his disfigurment.

Would you rather I:
1)Assume I have the ability to turn Plasticity on and off; and assume that when Plasticity is on, then Armor Skin is off.
2)Assume that Plasticity is always on, and that it is the disfigurment referred to in my backstory. This means dropping the power Armor Skin. Since Armor Skin is the power I reduced Resources by two ranks to get, I must choose another power. In this case, I would choose Body Resistance.(Unless there is the same problem with Body Resistance that there is with Armor Skin)
3)Assume that there is no problem having both Plasticity and Armor Skin on all the time. But that when I activate Bouncing Ball, I will lose the effects of Armor Skin.

Details have been added to Pong's profile.

As I am a newcomer to the Marvel system, I have some questions on how it works in regards to Pong.

1)Bouncing Ball adds its rank (Inc 36) to Pong's fighting rank (Rem 26). Does this add +36 to the roll on column Inc or change the column to Amazing (36+26=62=Amazing)?

2)When attacked by a blunt Physical attack, Pong has:
-Armor Skin (Rem 26):subtract the rank number from the intensity of any physical or energy attack
-Plasticity (Rem 26): power rank resistance to blunt Physical attacks
-Bouncing Ball (Inc 36): +3 CS resistance to blunt Physical attacks
How does all this combine?

Is there someplace I can see an example of gameplay (or at least combat), so I can see how it works before trying it myself? Perhaps in one of the books on the link Radavel listed?

Look. I'm a bouncing ball!

Patricio, if you and Radavel don't mind, I'd like to pass off my +1 CS for an attribute and the power I choose to drop to Radavel. No offense meant, but my dice for character creation were hot and his were not. I'm happy without the CS and the power, and he may want the boost.

I'll try to finish out the character and get it entered to Pong's profile tomorrow.
