About Pogug

Myth-Weaver's Sheet

Background:

Pogug was once little goblin, good and happy. But one day, big scary men with green skin attacked, and killed other happy goblins. Pogug was taken by big scary men to their strange scary camp. Pogug saw other goblins get eaten by scary men, but the men never eat him. Pogug guessed they didn't eat him because he was too smart, and they wanted him to lead their tribe. Pogug noticed that all of the men liked to listen to another man who made strange sounds with a strange tool. Pogug decided to ask him nicely if he could try it. Pogug did not realize that orcs were not keen on having their ankles bitten.

Pogug was thrown off cliff, hurting his head in the process. Fortunately, Pogug survived, and decided to make way to somewhere else.

Pogug managed to find some traveling adventurers, who considered Pogug too weak to deal with (they were wrong, of course. Pogug has lifted a whole branch before. He tried to show them, but they weren't impressed). One man possessed a tool that made strange sounds as well, and Pogug, knowing it would make him more important, decided to take it. The man taught him how to use it, and Pogug was entranced by the wondrous sounds it made.

Thus, Pogug decided to follow the adventurers, picking up their language. Pogug tended to run at the first sign of trouble, but would return once the danger was gone.

One day, the adventurers simply dissapeared. Pogug awoke to find no trace of them, their camp gone. Pogug saw tracks that went to a nearby city, but dismissed them. There was simply no way that they would ditch Pogug for some smelly city. Pogug was the strongest and bravest of all of them.

Pogug waited around for a bit, before spying something in the bushes. Rummaging it out, he found it to be that strange tool. Dubbing it "Vween-Maker," he decided that since he had found it, it was his to keep.

Pogug wandered the woods for some time, learning how to fully master it. While he respected the dumb human man, the green men's music was far more appealing to him, and he decided to use theirs instead.

Pogug eventually got tired of the woods, and decided to travel to the city. There, he found many other humans, as well as some dwarves and elves. When he asked them questions, they pushed him aside and told him to get in line. Pogug didn't really know what a "line" was, but he decided to go find where the people were coming from. There was really nothing there, so he decided to go where the people were going. The "line" began to move then, so Pogug decided to go behind the last person, because surely they knew where to go.

Once Pogug got closer to the supposed destination, he heard some laughter and other activities, with the others in line shifting about nervously. He felt some of them giving him odd looks, but surprisingly no one did much.

Pogug got up closer, and saw people perform amazing tricks: some mystical, others more physical, with jumps and dives. Pogug was interested, and decided he would do something too.

With Vween-maker in hand, he decided to make his way in front of the audience. While humans were smelly and sometimes not very nice, he could surely show how he was much better than them.
